>Sheev Palpitine (Danny Devito) is a galactic chancellor leading an idyllic, peaceful life on Courcucant
>Sheev also happens to be the star of the most popular live show in holovision history. The only problem is, he doesn't know it! In fact, the entire planet of Courcucant is a complete fabrication; a massive set surrounded by a protective dome that produces the most sophisticated effects and imagery to mimic the sky, weather, and temperature of the real world. Set just off of what appears to be the core systens, the dome is run by a massive staff hidden just beyond its barriers and managed by the artistically eccentric Director, Jar Jar Binks (Ed Harris). Jar Jar has filmed Sheev since just before his birth and sees the project as a ray of hope; a way to truthfully portray a person's life nonstop while maintaining their innocence.

Rex is not for sexual
Levi Taylor
Bane is canon, that doesn't make Zannah canon.

>For Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, groundbreaking CGI and digitally altered archive footage was used to digitally insert Peter Cushing's likeness from the original movie over the body of actor Guy Henry. Cushing's family were heavily involved with the creation and had input right down to "small, subtle adjustments."
His family gave the okay, did they? Neat.
Justin Bailey
Actually, by association it does, as well as Cognus and everyone else that followed Bane after the establishment of the Rule of Two, leading all the way to Sidious. Canonizing Bane means all of that is still eligible for play if the Coach calls them on the field; being on the bench doesn't mean they're in the stands.

That and Guy Henry was the one that wanted them to put Peter's face over his because of how much he respects him.

That's all it is now. This is the world you chose. You will be dying and your grandkids will be too busy watching Star Wars Origins: Dexter Jetster to see you off.

So I've been playing KOTOR for the first time after hearing all the hubbub, and while it's not a bad game at all (even if it has aged horribly), am I the only one who finds it ironic how people gave TFA shit for being criminally derivative yet KOTOR is also the same? I mean, Taris is Alderaan (with upper Taris also being Coruscant), T3-M4 is R2, HK-47 is a murderous 3PO (and there are more 3PO-like protocol droids in the game too), Zaalbar is Chewbacca, Darth Malak is Darth Vader (bald cyborg Sith Lord), Vandar Tokare is Yoda, the Sith Empire is the Galactic Empire, the Star Forge is the Death Star (McGuffin artifacts the bad guys use), the Jedi get BTFO (not as badly as in before ANH but still). Hell, they've even got a sequence similar to the TIE Fighter attack on the Millennium Falcon as a gameplay feature.
Sheesh. I'm surprised they didn't give Calo Nord green Mandalorian armor, or at least a jetpack.

>His family gave the okay, did they? Neat. Yeah. And the person in charge of his estate(who knew him for 35 years) was blown away by the recreation
>It was so impressive, in fact, that Cushing’s former secretary — Joyce Broughton, who oversees his estate and attended the film’s London premiere with her grandchildren — was taken aback emotionally when she saw the creation on screen.
>“When you’re with somebody for 35 years, what do you expect?” Broughton says. “I can’t say any more because I get very upset about it. He was the most beautiful man. He had his own private way of living.”
>Broughton, who was bequeathed Cushing’s estate when he died without an heir in 1994, was reticent to go into details about the situation due to a confidentiality agreement she signed with Disney and Lucasfilm. But despite the emotions, she said she was dazzled by the experience of the new film.
>“I have to say, I’m not a ‘Star Wars’ fanatic, but I did think whoever put it together were absolutely fantastic,” she says. “It’s not just a silly sort of thing. It’s really good!”
Asher Carter
>holy shit dude... burp.. i got mad high before this shit... it was really bad till they got to the beach... vader was hella fuckin epic!
what did they mean by this?
Owen Martin
Well you yourself a pretty awesome former Sith Lord. That was new. Also neat that Taris is canon
Jason Sullivan
yeah ok
Juan Murphy
Bane is canon and the fact that he had an apprentice is canon, but who the apprentice was is up in the air. It's completely possible that his canon apprentice was absolutely nothing like Zannah.
Carter Russell
KOTOR was set 4000 years in the past and didn't alter the whole setting. It wasn't made to appeal to every person on planet Earth and make a bazillion dollars. It was just a game that was very fun as at that point Star Wars games sucked hard.
KOTOR2 was better in every respect, you should play that instead. Considering who made those two games it isn't hard to see why one is superior to the other.
Mason Sanchez
That's quite a reach. TFA literally repeats the basic plot of ANH point by point. RO, KotOR, etc. don't do that.
Camden Richardson
Who actually voiced Tarkin in Rogue One by the way? That still Guy Henry?
Chase Ward
>KOTOR2 was better in every respect
lololol
Michael Russell
I think people would call it on it's shit more if, Malak was your father and Star Forge could annihilate planets but it's deviations are enough that it's not shameless I guess.
Isaiah Turner
>That still Guy Henry? Yeah I think so
Colton Harris
That's the problem with the old republic era in general. Thousands of years and barely any technological/cultural/anything change.
Mason Cook
>this is what Lucas had been working towards, and had planned on doing the exact same thing in RotS, but the technology wasn't quite up to that kind of standard yet
I have to wonder how he felt seeing his ambitions realized exactly how he wanted, with a bit of room for future fine tuning still. This is the kind of stuff Star Wars always meant to pioneer. It may have gotten to an awkward start for some people with the Prequels, but about a decade later here we are largely okay with it.
Cooper Robinson
Fine, beyond it being unpolished. But that's a problem Obsidian runs into as they're never given enough time or money to finish their projects. But gameplay, story and characters were way ahead of KOTOR. It's basically the Empire Strikes Back to KOTOR1's New Hope.

One of the things I really liked about the Plagueis novel was the sort of offhand explanation for why technology went stagnant after the Republic's victory over the Brotherhood of Darkness: Sith sabotage and dirty corporate politics/espionage basically hampering almost any breakthrough or improvement playing a large role in why projects would disappear before completion or engineers getting murdered before finishing their work or, like in Plagueis's case, company buyouts by the Banking Clan and just burying the work in bureaucracy until forgotten.
Evan Sullivan
...
Blake Davis
It also didn't help that Chris Avellone had to make every little nitpicking he had about Star Wars known in the game.
Mason Adams
Something like that gets noticed pretty quickly, we're expected to tale that as the reason for over a thousand years of stagnation?
Chase Watson

Stretched out over generations? There wouldn't even be a pattern to follow, and with the Sith supposedly all dead no one would suspect the CEO of Santhe to suddenly drop dead of Force choke while his heir was still a child and the vacuum be filled by Sienar in trust, for example. And it's not like there was a serious war on to incite sudden leaps in technology anyway, so it would have been a very slow progression even without an agenda actively holding it back as a means of slow-poisoning the Republic. So one assassination or kidnapping or lab accident or cancelled project every twenty or thirty or a hundred years or so, not even going to make anyone blink.
And what you don't kill, you buy and keep from everyone else. There are lots of ways to hamper a tech breakthrough if you've got the resources, the connections, the leverage, or just make them a nice big payoff for some merc or bounty hunter if you don't want to do the deed yourself.
Anthony Martin
Not as mad as someone else is.
Ethan Myers
No Anakin was, Vader is for Dark Lara Croft.
Jaxon Morris
It's still a HUGE stretch. Technology and culture barely changed in thousands of years, that's really hard to believe no matter what the Sith were playing.
Jordan Watson
Same. Atris' relative absence until the final act frustrated me too since I was looking forward to the confrontation with Nihilus and Sion the promotional images hinted at, but considering her actual role in the plot (which was actually quite an interesting twist, not gonna lie) I suppose we were supposed to interpret those as representative of her dreams. Intentionally misleading marketing as a plot device.
>tfw despite everything she'd done, the fact that in the end all she wanted was my dick still makes me rock hard and I would have gladly given it to her
Parker Gray
Be it canon or Old Republic era, why the fuck is there still half of the galaxy unexplored?
And don't tell me uncharted hyperspace routes. The other half didn't explore itself, some had to take risks. Why aren't the same risks taken for that unexplored half?
Xavier Russell

I'm sure Aphre fantasizes about it, and then has nightmares about the consequences...
Jeremiah Richardson
The galactic civilization is still very young and the Old Republic is non-canon. 5-10 thousand years ago they should have been on our level of development.
Austin Williams
fuck off with your failed forced copy paste meme
Adrian Sullivan
Atris only matters if you play as a male exile.
Asher Gonzalez
>the Old Republic is non-canon. The hell are you on about? It's still canon that there was a republic before the galactic republic.
Cameron Gomez
Vader/Aphra/Padme's dead corpse necrophilia porn when?

Yeah, no, he choked her himself.
Aphra would make him a new cybernetic dick and be the first to try it.
