Same.

Maf when boiz?

GUYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL IS 1 HOUR AND 40 MINUTES!!!!!!!!! PROBABLY 90 MINUTES MINUS THOSE INTRODUCTION THINGS YEOOOOOOOWWWWWW BASEDDDD

HYPE

Even though the tickets aren't for sale they could at least tell me what theaters are going to be playing the show.

Some feedback and author commentary:

This is literally nonsense. It will be an hour long.

Yeah that's really annoying, I'm gonna be out of town in a small town at Christmas and I gotta know if any of their theatres have it

End of Time part 2 was like an hour and a half wasn't it

How would you feel is each season only had two stories what I mean is one great story takes place over 6 episodes? I think i'd prefer this, it's one of the reason why 7's latter stories were so good. The 45 minute episode format is only good for a very small select few episode types. It has to end.

I prefer the current format and think it works for the majority of stories

Yeah, the last time the show got an extended Christmas slot was 8 fucking years ago. I really recommend you don't hold your breath expecting it to happen again.

Okay, who's up for some /who/ mafia? If you've never heard of the game before, or just don't know how to play, please take the time to read the guide I wrote:

docs.google.com/document/d/1zziCoMr7Ii8J5r4DxupelULQvwZWvT1KAelSK8u963A/edit?usp=sharing

Any questions, or anything you don't fully understand, please just let me know. I'd also appreciate if people could register interest whilst I'm away for dinner, so I have a good estimate of how many spots I need to set the game up with. That also gives you time to read up on anything you're unsure of!

I'll be back soon!

Aha, forgot it was Sunday. I'll probably type up my reviews tomorrow, if that's alright.

I'll be able to in an hour or two

The 45 minute stories is one of the reasons I've never really been able to get into NuWho. The format seems popular with the majority so I don't see them ever changing it.

I'm up for itttttttttttt

I really need to do some important things, but in around 40 minutes i'll be 100% ready

>ha ha i love watching black people they amuse me!

>wuh im not racist???

Utah would be a perfect filming spot for Gallifrey prove me wrong.

Any other bookclub anons, I really do recommend listening to the audios of neos instead of reading them, they work better and he put more effort into them

You are so right. Cultural appropriation of black um... culture is worse than what the nazis did. We should make a stand for equality and refuse to watch anything with blacks in it.

Rewatching Sleep No More.
Why did everyone shit on this episodes when it first aired, it's pretty solid so far.

Why is Clara so cute?

Who is the guy that keeps spamming mafia crap?

It's not a guy, it's a girl.

6 45 min eps would be ridiculous, DMP tier. With current ep lengths, no more than 3 parts per story.

I've only ever had good experiences with their customer service, shoot them an email.

But user...you're right

Cheers, and I agree they play better than the fics on paper/screen. Mine that is - a lot of /who/res write with lovely prose and in a style that jumps off the page, so they're already perfect on paper, but I agree that I'm better served in a different format. I'm editing my last one right now actually, trying to do something a bit special with it. Cover pic preview attached!

An user or two, Immigrant, and I were discussing Sleep No More last thread (and the end of the one before that) if you wanna check some of that out too, it's an interesting ep for sure.

If it's just like Town of Salem why don't we just play that? It's also free and there's more to visualize.

hey lawrence miles has done a popular tweet good for him
twitter.com/Lawrence_Miles/status/916866498165202944

How far in are you?

Worst crime of SNM for me was just being bland where it could have been exciting. To pull off bullshit like eye booger monsters, you need to justify it with some imaginative visuals and dreamlike scares, but none were in supply.

Is the user DocJohn about, by any chance? Need to ask him something.

If you're referring to me (which I don't think the original user is, but I'm not sure) then... I don't think I spam it, do I? I can stop posting mafia stuff if people want, though. Don't want to shit up the threads if the majority don't like it.

I've never actually watched Sleep No More, but it's such a controversial (or, well, maybe not so much controversial as universally disliked...) episode that I haven't yet found the motivation to get around to watching it.

I can't guarantee that it actually is, user. It's similar from my understanding of the two games, but I'm not familiar with actually playing Town of Salem, and the benefit of playing Mafia is that we can make it Doctor Who themed. I'm not sure if we can do that with ToS.

Well you can have everyone pick a Doctor Who name but that's the extent of the "theme". What else can you do in Mafia to make it more Doctor Who like?

>I've never actually watched Sleep No More

youtube.com/watch?v=EnX-ybW_Mr4

Was ist /who/ mit du?

Kimi to no /fū/ wa nan desu ka?

>I've never actually watched Sleep no More
>being dirty fucking skipper scum

We were all casuals once.

>you can have everyone pick a Doctor Who name but that's the extent of the "theme"
Is that in reference to ToS? Basically, Mafia allows similar except totally randomised. You don't get to choose which character you are, it just gets assigned to you, which I personally prefer. You get your character name and your icon, and that's that. There isn't much more you can do to make it who-themed, unfortunately.

Regardless, though, my main issues with ToS still stand: I haven't played it before, and unless you're really familiar with it and want to take it upon yourself to write up a guide and make games for it, it wouldn't necessarily be of greater benefit to play it over Mafia... if we were to play either at all.

Mafia also has more unique roles, and I think the lack of visuals is actually of great benefit to it, when you're opting to play it with a specific theme (i.e. Doctor Who, in this case) because you don't have the conflict of what you see vs what you imagine like with a more visual-based game like ToS. Plus, I don't really like ToS's art style and UI...

Still, if for whatever reason, people opted for ToS over Mafia, I couldn't really argue, but those are the reasons for my personal preference all the same.

kek. I think I've seen some of it, but I vaguely remember my watching of it being interrupted. For a long while, I thought I had finished the episode and it was just that forgettable, but it's only recently I realised I never got around to watching it all. It's the only episode of Twelve's run that I haven't seen in its entirety, at least. I'm sorry to have disappointed you both, I promise I'll watch it soon.

...

I feel as though I've failed you.

I hope we're not acting like those nasty Clara fans you've previously encountered

>we are human point two
what did cybermen mean by this?

>The Taint

Are we human or are we cyber? youtu.be/RIZdjT1472Y

We're not angry, just disappointed

How did I do /who/? Snagged these from a thrift shop near my house for $1 each. Am I in for a good time? Is it easier to read Who than to watch Who?

Advanced Cybermen nomenclature, you wouldn't understand.

pic

No, it's okay—all good! I do feel a bit embarrassed to admit I haven't seen the episode, though. At least it wasn't an "important" one like Hell Bent or something...

But... but, user, that's even worse!

>The Tomorrow Windows
>The Deadstone Memorial
FUCK. I'm jealous, user. I can't comment on the other books, but those two are from the latter end of the EDAs, which are extremely arc-heavy and usually need context from other books to fully understand. You'll be pleased to know, however, that you've managed to pick up two books from the tiny section that features pretty stand-alone stories, so you'll probably be have an okay time understanding everything that's going on.

>Is it easier to read Who than to watch Who?
That's a very personal thing, user. Depends how much you enjoy reading. I wouldn't say either one is "easier," though... They're just different forms of media. You will find, however, that the books tend to deal with concepts on a much grander scale than the show ever could, which is always comfy. Each story format has its own merits, though. Tough to compare.

>At least it wasn't an "important" one

...

Hey, I just looked up The Tomorrow Window and your boy Fritz is in it! Can you tell me what other books are in the arc because I'm interested in reading them as well.

>Fritz
lol

FUCK I MEANT FITZ IM SORRY

>she will NEVER be the Doctor

>its a Neo and Mcganon fuck each other through veiled text and cheeky reaction images thread.
This is almost pornographic guys.

>your boy Fritz

let's play something

Fuck off Neo I meant Fitz!

You just reminded me of something.

Does anyone else remember what_frame user? Wonder what happened to them.

...

>Tfw no one talks about my boy C'Rizz

>having C'rizz as your boy in 2017

Remember how he ruined the nearly purely 100% comfiness of Other Lives by getting enslaved or some shit? Or when he started spouting shit about wanting to kill 8 and Charley?

I'm here!

>not having c'rizz as your boy in 2017
C'Rizz will tear this mutha.

Remember when C'Rizz murdered a Dalek? Right under Davros's nose?

>one of the books is old
>cover coming off the spine
>try to reglue the cover to the spine with super glue
>it won't stick
>super glue my index finger to my thumb

This whole thing was a mistake

Thanks for the laugh

Remember when he died?

Like I said, those two stories are pretty standalone iirc, so there's not much to really read outside of them (though if you get confused about anything, let me know and I'll explain to the best of my knowledge.) Problem with the EDAs is that, despite having so many books, there's a pretty continuous plot running through them all, even if most of them operate well enough as individual adventures. I would recommend you read all of them, but it's a pretty significant undertaking. You can check out the EDA page on the wiki, though, it has a break-down of each individual "arc," including the one that your two books comes from (which are number 69 and 71, respectively.)

You know, there's actually an Iris Wildthyme short story featuring Fitz, but for whatever reason—probably to do with character rights?—he's referred to in it as "Fritz," instead of his actual name. It's clearly supposed to be him, and sometimes the writer even messed up and wrote his name properly... but, there you go. Useless fact for you all.

I'll talk to you in the stream, seeing as you're there!

I can set up mafia soon, seeing as a few people I was waiting on seem to be around.

f

People would constantly troll him and shitpost at him calling him "what_frame autism" and he would get extraordinarily triggered every time and scream back at them until eventually he just quit

Why you gotta go there, user? Nobody went there when Adric was Fadric, but you just did. Apologise.

>Nobody went there when Adric was Fadric

Oh okay, well I'll give them a try, thanks!

Also why does super glue work great fusing my fingers together but somehow can't bind a cover to it's book? It won't stick no matter what I do and I don't have any other glue.

>why does super glue work great fusing my fingers together but somehow can't bind a cover to it's book?
Super glue requires a little bit of moisture to properly "activate," and there's more of that on your skin than there would be in the pages/binding of a book.

If I took a paper towel and applied a bit of dampness to the spine before applying the super glue would it stick better this time?

>requires a little bit of moisture to properly "activate,"

Living up to the name I see

I actually unironically agree with this.

David had a more, prince charming, "steal yo girl" kind of Doctor, while Smith had a more "friendly" Doctor. One you could count on to help ya out.

You agree that you fell in love with 10 and 11 became your best friend?

Only if it was a very, very tiny bit. Moisture helps it work, but use too much and it won't.

pic related

>he wants to kiss 10

Well, not like that. But I mean, if Rose would have met 10, fell in love, and then met 11, they would have been great friends.

I ain't edge reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

>Moisture helps it work, but use too much and it won't.

Lads, do you think Neo and Mcganon could be/who/'s first couple? Maybe make litte /who/s someday?

I don't know, look at the logistics, Neo lives in Australia. Then again he has said he's moving overseas so he's probably the sort to travel around. And I guess both of them are already very online types of people.

>who are Cloister and Belle

They're not the first couple by a long shot. Could be first parents though I guess.
