What do producers actually do

Why are they needed in film making?

Finance and marketing.
Why else do you think most of them are Jews?

they're the money

how do he get his weenie in actress with belly so big?

To make a movie you got to find a rich guy stupid enough to fund it

thats a big gut

at the casting couch

From what I've gathered, producers come in two flavors: 'investors' who solely fund film projects for a decent return on revenues and those who play a more administrative role, selecting and working with casting agencies, editing, special effects, set construction outfits, etc, to make sure the director has what they need.

Ask anyone in the industry about the importance of a producer.

They are the single most important member of the crew. At the VERY least, they are just as important as the director.

Usually, they are actually more integral to the film getting made than the director.

You've got to understand that making a major motion picture is actually near impossible.

For every one feature made, there's a host of 1,000s of quality scripts that never get made.

The creative part of filmmaking is actually relatively easy in comparison to the logistical and financial difficulties surrounding it getting made.

A good way to put it is like this,

The director is the machine / device.

The market / industry is the mains electricity

The producer is the plug.

Without the plug, the device is useless.

yeah - a BUTT plug!

they fuck like cockroaches.

but what does an executive producer do then?

/thread

Films literally don't exist without producers. And a good one is the first one to arrive and last one to leave. They oversee literally everything.

>Why are producers needed?
They basically arrange the whole charade.
Scheduling and Shmoozing.

It's highly variable depending on the producer and film in question, but in general they're involved in the logistics of making a movie. Some are simply financiers, some are representatives of the studio, some are active partners in the creative process of a movie. A film can have seemingly dozens of producers, associate producers, executive producers, etc. because of that variety of roles the title encompasses.

Exec producer usually will either solely find the finance, put up the finance themselves or contribute in a massive way without putting too much work on their part.

They're usually the guy that won't be doing the running around but will come with either the money, connections or something else extremely valuable that only they can really offer.

they help coordinate the sexual assaults

If you don't understand why organisers are needed in a creative process then you are unlikely to get anything done ever.

well said, but could you ease up on the fucking reddit spacing?

I've understood that in many cases they're just vanity titles for people who want to feel important (like giving a nod toward an actor). But on some cases they might have contributed something integral to the movie, i.e. a location for filming or something else that would have been impossible to get without their assistance.

So long as it isn't a job that could be done by a functionary with a budget oh wait it is that.

>yfw Capaldi based Malcolm Tucker on Harvey Weinstein

>except that Tucker is witty and not physical and not a rapist

They molest the actresses, someone's gotta do it
