10 clover field lane was a fucking gem and was my favorite movie from 2016
Know any other movies like it? Not the genre or scenario but the fact that it wasn't a sprawling film. Limited sets but intimate with the characters.

Where art met commerce in film was a little earlier in it's time, see The Wild Bunch, The Good The Bad And The Ugly and the ultimate Once Upon A Time in The West. Check out some Kurosawa, early Hong Kong movies of John Woo, The Long Good Friday, fucking William Friedkin's Sorcerer, look a bit further back and overseas
