Was anyone kinda freaked out by this ?

I thought it was kinda creepy. I didn't have that feeling first time i saw Princess Leia in Rogue one (because the illusion didn't work as well for me)... But after seeing 2049, i'm just wondering what it all means ?

I mean if we now have this type of technology, it sets a new precedent. They can resurrect or rejuvenate anyone...How does that work though ? (with dead actors)...I guess family members have some royalties or something ? or some permission/deal with the producers...

In Sean Young's case...she's listed on imdb. So i guess she was on set to shoot this scene, they probably added cg on her face and maybe she had a body double ?

It didn't have that weird lens thing though with the lighting

Human actors are going the way of the dodo. You are the last generation who will see films containing real people.

I thought she looked a lot more believable than the ones in Rogue One, or the Marvel films (Civil War, GOTG Vol 2)
Is it because they didn't try to make her emote?

It's because Villeneuve is an actually competent film maker and knew not to push the technology too far.

Is she a jojo reference?

I bet if you watched them together, you could tell where they cut and pasted over from. Where the Star Wars they tried to make a new person(s) out of computer models

I thought it was a different person entirely

The shitty cam doesn't do it justice, but it looked great.

Was impressive and an actual surprise. Sean Young was part of the reason the original is a classic. I know she's had her ups and downs over the years but it makes me happy she wasn't just shunted off to the side and ignored by the sequel.

I thought they just used a lookalike.
To be fair I can see the difference beetween this and real sean young

The real Sean Young had green eyes

>Sean Young tried to use a unorthodox method to try and get the role of Catwoman, but was labeled crazy and it ruined her career

She looked great

Where do I find that cam?

solarmoviez.to/movie/blade-runner-2049-22206.html

just wait until you can torrent the holographic files of actors like you can download video game models

What?

That was incidental. Sean Young is redpilled about the Jews, her father was too, journalist who was a big enemy of their occupation of Palestine, she was blacklisted for that.

She stalked and pestered Tim Burton for the role of Catwoman in Batman Returns. The media was reporting on it and she got labeled crazy for it. It was a big thing, I'm surprised you never heard of it.

It works really well in my opinion

we're already getting holographic concerts from dead musicians.

all she did was show up at the studio dressed as catwoman, and tim burton was so scared he hid from her.

Fuck me, I know it's a cam, but I'm trying to rewatch this and spot any obvious shittiness but there's very little.
I think maybe the eyes move a bit oddly? It's like they overdid what they felt was natural eye movement. But then again, they cover their asses with that because she's a replicant.

For me it was mostly her lips, they move a bit too much but they're not distracting.

Just wait till we get sex robots/humanoid servants that look like your favourite actresses or supermodel. The future is going to be pretty weird .

At that point I'm guessing people will just look like them with some retarded magic makeover.

just imagine how realistic Arnie will be in Camerons Terminator 3 with the budget it gets

mgtows and incels will die virgins and alone waiting for their robowaifus.

Retarded redditfag fuck off.

>Camerons Terminator 3
Tim Miller is directing it. How is it Cameron's?

Need real people for performance capture, so no. It just means the job is evolving

the cam is missing like 30 mins i think

real people, bums of the street.

no more 99999999999 dollars for a movie.

you should buy as much decentralized computing tokens as possible. start with some $GNT and google the rest

Not for long

youtube.com/watch?v=Ul0Gilv5wvY

thats pretty impressive

I was more impressed with how good they made Harrison Ford look

It didn't look that weird in the movie.
How odd.

Is this an algorithm that moves the model limbs according to the user input?

Face a little bloated, and eyes movement is still CGIish, but pretty good otherwise

What a faggot. I wish prime Sean Young showed up at my audition dressed as Catwoman.

I think it's a blend of several factors:
>a better and more experienced director of photography (or whatever that position is called)
>a director who knows not to go full retard with cgi
>cgi actor not showing emotions that usually enables the uncanny valley factor.
>a tiny bit more mature technology
>maybe super imposing old footage blended with cgi? just a guess

>actors will become obsolete in out lifetime
>long dead and or just-ed actors will still get "work" as a gimmick
Sounds pretty cool to me.

I wonder if all that shit with Vegas and the holographic shows was meant to be a meta commentary on the films own usage of old likenesses?
Because honestly I'd go to a casino where I could see Elvis perform again.

hollywood: the place that hires you even if you're dead

Lucas actually came up with this in the late 80's and did a Bogart CG test

correction, not Lucas
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendez-vous_in_Montreal

>It's because Villeneuve is an actually competent film maker
LOL

>DUDE ALL BIG FILMMAKERS PEOPLE LIKE ARE HACKS LOOK AT ME GUYS

>all she did was show up at the studio dressed as catwoman, and tim burton was so scared he hid from her.

Which PS1 game is this from?

Good riddance.

>hollywood needs attractive movie stars
>hire legitimately talented actors for mocap
>use cg to make them attractive /resemble stars you know
assuming the cg was flawless... would you be OK with this?

He's not notable, but he isn't stupid either.

>when a special effect is good but it's also CGI so you have to hate on it
WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST USE A PUPPET?!

>Me extra nasty
what did she mean by this?

The interesting thing is when they start doing this in thriller/crime/drama films, and not films usually reliant upon special fx.

In the Irishman, Robert DeNiro is gonna play himself but CGI will make himself look 30. In the new Mike Tyson biopic, Jamie Foxx will be made to look significantly younger too.

It could be bad news for the industry imo. If this becomes a thing, we'll have very few new high quality leading men emerging in big films. We'll see Leonardo DiCaprio as a handsome young 20something man for the next 40 years.

Fuck that.

The real Gal Gadot don't have hips and boobs

Bring him back for the next Joker movie.

most of the marvel films are fine because they actually have the actor on set and can go back on them naturally. kurt russell's in gotg 2 was actually more makeup than CGI

rogue one sucked b/c it was stand-in and mostly full cgi

they actually had sean young come in on set and used her as a base model then went back. much easier to do that than create carrie fisher from scratch

So are we at full Congress yet? When they put the fake Leia in that movie then the real Leia died that had real symbolic meaning to me.

>Did anyone else feel the way the director intended them to feel?

Just you buddy. You're mommy's special boy.

Whatever same thing

But what if the fake actors gain sentience?

What if the movie was actually a metaphor for that scenario?

was this whole scene a meta commentary on the robot human surrogate. think about it how is a CG woman replacing an actor any different to a holo woman replacing a wife?

Visually that would probably be relatively easy given he wore heavy make-up. His acting performance was very unique though and might be difficult to replicate by a stand-in.

They have to limit their screentime, this is the third time I'm seeing this, first was in the new Terminator movie, followed by Star Wars and now this and each time the people who they're rendering in 3D appears in the screen for mere seconds before cutting or them dying.

this movie was so boring

>just imagine how realistic Arnie will be in Camerons Terminator 3 with the budget it gets

They basically have Arnold down already
