Cast it
Cast it
> Cast it
Into the trash it goes.
Eddie Murphy to play every role.
What the F*CK did he mean by this?!?
Harvey Weinstein as the Judge
What exactly are you not comprehending?
Idris Elba
This book is so fucking boring.
I weep for you
Bit racist?!
I don't even understand the love for this book. No Country for Old Men was better and it was way more filmable, which is probably why it was turned into a great movie. There's no way to make a Blood Meridian movie that will make fans of the novel happy.
'Twas a different time
Not a big fan of this book. It's like the author intentionally made it difficult to read. He completely avoids using parentheses for speech sometimes. How does this enhance the story quality?
I think he does a good job of displaying the brutality of that world but at the same throw us a fucking home will you and use some fucking syntax.
That was the climate of that place and time buddy .
t.brainlets
Jesus lol lotta fuckin smoothbrains in this thread
anyway the only guy who could've been the Judge was Philip Seymour Hoffman, we missed our chance
>Not wanting to enjoy a 6 hour movie made up of 4 hours of nothing but landscape shots broken up by scenes of intense violence which has no actual purpose other than to contrast the beauty of the lands the people inhabit.
Yeah that's called life
...
go to bed, bobby. you have class tomorrow.
Tyler Sheridan as the Kid
Vincent D'onfirio or whatever as Judge Holden
Steve Buscemi as everyone else
who cares? just get lubezki on board
He would have to lose a staggering amount of weight to not look totally silly as Holden.
Idris Elba as Judge Holden
Jaden Smith as the Kid
prove me wrong
>They is four things that can destroy the earth, he said. Women, whiskey, money, and niggers
what a shitlord
the kid meets some crazy guy that has a dried up nigger's heart, did you not read it or something?
>violence which has no actual purpose other than to contrast the beauty of the lands the people inhabit.
but that's wrong. The violence is extremely thematic and important to the book
Vinny D's drastic weight loss / gain for roles is one of his hallmarks, amigo.
How's All the Pretty Horses?
This
Can we stop having this thread every fucking week? This book is overrated as fuck, retarded pseudo intellectual bullshit.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster as The Kid
Vinnie Jones as The Judge
Ed Norton as Glanton
>never watch birth of a nation because it's supposedly racist as fuck
>watch it because someone on reddit told me to
>it's literally one of the greatest stories ever told on film
literally WHAT THE FUCK
Romantic bullshit
bullshit because its romantic or just a poor romantic?
>racist as fuck
>one of the greatest movies ever
it's both, and the director was so surprised that people thought it was racist that he made a movie with the first interracial couple in the history of film
Tom Hardy as the Judge
He is, after all a BIG GUY
Mel Gibson to direct
Say what you want about him, but he’s one of the only directors that can portray fucked up gore on screen properly.
The Judge is literally bleached Woody Harrelson in a muscle suit.
Define "properly"
Goddamnit how I would love the Coens directing this shit. They did NCFOM so fucking well.
Fuck you James Franco. Dont fuck it up.
The Coens are too smart to make this movie. Not sure how Franco became anything other than a skinny Seth Rogen.
Too romantic, none of the pessimistic tones that are present in the book.
J.K. Simmons as Judge
Evan Peters as the Kid
Ryan Gosling as Glanton
Tom Hardy as Toadvine
Directed by Denis Villeneuve
Did you read any other book by McCarthy?
That's one of his calling cards. Really is not difficult to comprehend after a page or two of getting used to it.
God damn this, important enough to be literally personified as Holden.
>using parentheses for speech
What did he mean by this?
(papa Im cold)
(I know)
(papa what is that gun for)
(for you and me)
(okay)
(okay)
I love his writing style, it fits the road so well, it's so sad.
Give me mortenson as glanton and Phoenix as toadvine and we got a deal.
you are the 4th grader who laughs at the word nigger when it comes up in huckleberry finn
you have let the word nigger squander your appreciation of art because your mind is too childish
You need someone extremely fat to play the Judge, with a very deep and rich voice. The kid needs to look very cruel, and malnourished, and possibly as though he's had his nose broken several times. Glaton should look almost regal. Toadvine should be bestial. The two Jacksons ought to look as similar as possible apart from their skin colour.
The spanish should all be entirely untranslated. There should be fairly little music. Ideally, it'd be as said.
Vincent D'Onofrio as the judge
Judge is not fat
He meant commas. McCarthy does have a tendency to create run on sentences.
That dude from Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy as the Judge
While I can't quote the passage directly, I remember him being described like an egg or a whale. If not fat, then just a really huge guy.
