Is this show any good?

I haven't seen a single episode.

Also, how much of a show do you watch before deciding to watch more or stop?

this is from the movie,
the TV show is pretty OK, the movies are what's great.

>anything Alvin and the Chipmunks
>great

YIFF IN HELL

Alvin and the Chipmunks is only worth watching for nostalgia's sake.

The Chipmunk Adventure had really great animation, though. The shit writing and story coupled with good animation created this weird qualitative dissonance.

>implying

What the heck is the deal with this image?

There's a plunger on her butt.

such furry
much wow

no shit.

Is that why it's there?

Depends how strong that plunger is.

I never realized how much blatant furry-bait this series had. Jesus.

...

SOILED IT

80's as fuck.

Isn't there a global rule explicitly forbidding furshit outside of Sup Forums?

Why do newfags think cartoons with anthropomorphic animals are banned on Sup Forums? The global rule pertains to furry porn, it really isn't hard to understand.

It's pretty fun, it's definitely one of the better 80s cartoons. It's cute, sweet, and sometimes gives me a good laugh. The movie is still one of the most beautiful 2-D animated features I've ever seen. It's definitely cheesy, but in that genuine type of way.

It's how you're supposed to cure constipation.

>getting lucky
Really user?

>one of the better 80s cartoons

For real? I couldn't get past those high voices as a kid and there's no way this is as good as Transformers or Real Ghostbusters.

How much do you want to jerk it to the chipettes?

Keep in mind it competes against things like Gravedale High or Ewoks.

like...a WHOLE lot...

Crimanally underrated

Looking at her right there, I could go for Eleanor.

Was a little silly, but not so bad. Like many, i prefer when have swiched from Ruby-Spears...

..to DiC Entertainment.

My favorite episodes were the "alternate universe" episodes where they play differents characters.

Is there a MEGA link or a torrent for this show anywhere?

holy kek

...

Yes, it can be found in certain places online. I don't think there were any DVDs of the whole thing. If you're just casual interest, just look around YT for a few eps. I suggest the valentines special.

Oh my

It is a shame that the series has not a real dvd collection.

brb killing myself

youtube.com/watch?v=qW636Cab0tw

I mean these girls look so anthropomorphized to the point that they just need a human nose to look a human girl.

That's pretty common.

>furry
>entirely human features
come on now

I think that part of the problem is that most of the local furry-haters don't know what a furry is. Furries really are a large number of people who like cartoons with humanized animals in them, like Swat Cats and Gumball. And then there's a mass of people who love supermuscular lion-men, super-fat animal women, tongues as long as arms, etc etc. But much of that is all original-character stuff, stuff that isn't involving characters from cartoons and comic books. Those are the furries that got furries banned from here. But the people who hate furries weren't banned and are still around, killing threads of Thundercats and Sonic, and I don't even know what else. Don't be hating on comic book and cartoon characters on a board named "Comics and Cartoons."

I heard somewhere that one of the reasons why this show didn't get a proper DVD release is because of licensing issues involving songs used in the show. How much of it is true?

I heard the same thing and it sounds reasonable. There's been several movies and stuff where things have been cut out because someone in the production chain doesn't want to pay a singer the letter of his royalty contract, once it goes to the VHS or DVD.

probable.

>Is this show any good?

Only if you wanna fuck the chipettes.

the global rule is a relic left over from the early days of Sup Forums and was just taken from somethingawful. Nowadays it's just used as an excuse for mods to delete threads when they feel like it.
Threads that are fine but would be deleted if this rule was enforced to the letter
>half of Sup Forums
>/tg/ fantasy race threads
>/v(g)/ animal character game threads
>/cgl/ mascot/fursuit threads
>/mlp/
>probably a third of /d/
and anything else I'm forgetting

>That's pretty common.

muh DiC

"chipmunk go to movies" is the favorite season.

Those are better for sure. Especially Real Ghostbusters.

Pretty much this, all of the 80s cartoons are pure rubbish, I just find Alvin to be a bit less rubbish than everything else, the original Transformers and Ghostbusters aside too. It's all done on a shoestring budget. Nothing really got good for TV animation until Duck Tales, The Simpsons, and Animaniacs showed up. I watched it again and while the chipmunks can be annoying there's just this sweetness to it. It's just kids doing kid things, which are the cartoons I enjoy the most. It's simple, something to leave on the TV when you're not doing much. Like all 80s cartoon fodder. It's simply decent.

Someone called me furry for watching Regular Show once, I think the word has lost all meaning at this point.

Furries arn't that much the drama queens as they used to, and furry art is more accepted now than ever before.

If anything, Sup Forumstards are the new furfags.

This thread!!
Keep it up

Whoah they made an entire season with that premise? how many episodes were there? I think I might watch it on Kisscartoon tonight.

13, is the last season (howewer some similar episodes are made also in precedent seasons).

>the shy one and the cute one become aggressive when singing

Why Brittany has always the best look?

I wouldn't call Jeanette shy just not as loud as Brittany and Elanor If that makes any scene.

can't have a Chipmunk thread without posting this

And I'm not because I don't wear a fox tail to comic conventions.

>lolis seduce penis analogues by singing song about sex
The '80s were not a mistake.

There was an episode where the boys had to rescue a trio of monkies from a villain of the week.

I'll take some requests if the thread hasn't died.

Britney is devastated when she's mocked for her once-fashionable '80s duds.

It's really no wonder David Cross calls the live action films "the most unpleasant experience I've ever had in my professional life."

This new?
Never seen it before.

Mermaid Jeanette with big boobs

...

The three chipettes as adults.

boys > girls

The chipettes dressed as superheroines or villainettes.

It's furfag loli cockteasing.

Theodore and Eleanor kissing on the lips.

the movie was great

theyre barely furries

Requesting Brittany trying to give a makeover to one of her sisters gets a little too intimate.

Hence the 'loli' angle. It makes it even creepier because they're so young. I mean, at least the Pussycats and Jem and the rest are like 17, 18 or something.

And it's furry since they are literally chipmunks.

...Did they EVER explain what the deal was with them being chipmunks, anyway, or can all animals in their world talk?

> It makes it even creepier because they're so young
casual

>Did they EVER explain what the deal was with them being chipmunks, anyway, or can all animals in their world talk?
I think it's just never mentioned. But there was Uncle Harry, the mother, a mute tarzan-type chipmunk Theodore lookalike, and I think there was a crack made about a band of singing squirrels. No other talking animals, no talking dogs, no talking circus animals, etc.

WTF?
I don't even ..
How could they completely ruin a christmas classic like that?

>pizza toots
YES, MY FAVORITE

1. The sole reason 80s Alvin and the Chipmunks has never been given a proper home video/DVD release because the music issue, pure and simple. The show EXTENSIVELY used songs from artists from the era; think of Miami Vice but worse in that Alvin and the Chimpunk didn't just use Top 40 songs but did covers of A-List acts like Madonna and Michael Jackson, making it flat out impossible to release it on DVD in full.

2. That said, the 80s era Alvin and the Chimpmunks is definitely worth tracking down for a couple of reasons.

A. As an artifact of the era, especially in terms of A&TC, like Miami Vice, bringing MTV values to the mainstream back when MTV was still a baby network. MTV was a HUGE influence on the 80s A&TC and it makes for a fascinating mirror to the mid-80s pop culture

B. It was a huge deal with regards to worldbuilding a cartoon out of a glorified radio novelty act. The original 60s era A&TC didn't do much with the premise but the 80s era A&TC did a great deal to world build a canon around a radio novelty act. Creating backstories for the Chimpmunks and treating them as a legit rock and roll act, in a g-rated cartoon sort of way as wel as the creation of the Chimpettes, who added an extra layer to the franchise (as well as a means for the creators to make more money, doing Chimpmunk versions of female pop hits).

3. The tale end of the run is movie/tv show parodies and they generally stink to high heavens (and not quite as timeless as the music, as seen by them doing a Moonlighting parody around the time people stopped givinbg a shit about Moonlighting).

I also toss in that the 80s Chimpmunk movie is horrible. Just horrible and a poor representation of the series if that is all you have to go by.

I hadn't heard this before. Horrible. And what sort of management tries to promote their pizza by telling people it makes them fart? Why did the chipmunks people sign off on this? Did no-one question this decision?

You are overanalyzing at this point nigga, in no way is it some cool worldbuilding cartoon. It's just a cute Saturday morning cartoon. As much as I like it you have to realize it's a dumb cartoon. Calm that autism. Also, the movie was the best part, fuck you.

He only over-analyzing a little. They did add on a lot of little things to flesh out the idea of the Chipmunks. I watched it as a kid, I had fun. And the 80s movie was the best thing to come out of the series.

...

>The movie is still one of the most beautiful 2-D animated features I've ever seen.
It was good but not that good.

>the 80s Chimpmunk movie is horrible
Yeah, but not when compared to what else the series has to offer.

...

I'm surprised a gimmick like remixing songs with a higher pitch resulted in a juggernaut that lasted over 50 years.
