ONE JOB

They never said they were changing everything.
They are merely focusing on hope & triumph instead of continuing to emphasize their relatable realistic fallibility.

I loved BvS and moS but I do not support this.

fuck nushit, get me my old timeline. No one asked for a no-name female-only "womyn" movia and a Will-Smith -in-the-DECU movie.

I want a flash film, a shazam film and a BB/BG film, fast.

>Relax, We're Changing Everything
where did he said that, faggot.

If you mean make it more brighter than I must have miss Chriss Terrio interview before BvS theatrical release, BvS is their ESB, lowest point, hell why it's named Dawn. If you fell for SS reshoots to add humor meme then it's your own problem, because reshoots was characters introduction sequence, whole "humor" was already in trailers before and while named reshoot occured.

>gotham city sirens, suicide squad 2, fresh prince of deadshot spinoff
None of this bad. Margot recieved award for SS so it's absolutely logic move. Deadshot introduction scene in SS was one of the best monets of this capeflick.
Plus SS did better than Dr.Strange. So DC so far doing it good, haters and false flaggers can btfo.

And if you also fell for Geoff Johns now involved in DC films meme than again it's only your problem because he has been involved since Green Lantern and Man of Steel.

>Gotham City Sirens
Hype
>Fresh Prince of Deadshot
am I being memed on

>you must have missed
I wasted those magnificent four dubs on my mistakes lol.

You mean Terrio's interview that came when BvS was already getting bad buzz over being excessively grimdark?

Really fires up the neurons...

wsj.com/articles/warner-bros-s-new-strategy-on-dc-lighten-up-superheroes-1473350000

>One of the duo’s main goals, they said in their first interview since taking the jobs this past spring, is to make DC superheroes on the big screen more inspiring.

>“Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong,” said Mr. Johns, who has written comic books featuring most of the company’s top superheroes. “It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”

>While they knew the movies had flaws and expected them to be controversial, Warner executives were taken aback by the overwhelmingly negative responses, people at the studio said. They believed they had created more grounded, character-based stories that, like “The Dark Knight,” would favorably stand out from chief rival Marvel Studios’ consistently successful but fluffier fare such as “Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

>“Justice League” was already intended to be less depressing than “Batman v Superman,” but Messrs Berg and Johns worked with Mr. Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio to make changes after gauging fan reactions to the superhero fight.

>“We accelerated the story to get to the hope and optimism a little faster,” said Mr. Berg.

Get ready for the batman cinematic universe boys

I don't see any contradiction to what I wrote.

except for the part that they say they changed it

>’ That couldn’t be more wrong,” said Mr. Johns, who has written comic books featuring most of the company’s top superheroes. “It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.

This sounds so fucking forced, especially when he starts talking about Batman. BvS wasn't even that dark but now everything needs to be Guardians of the Galaxy/Suicide Squad.

>deadshot spinoff
is as likely to be a thing anymore than the Harley Quinn one. SS will be the one stop shop of seeing all the villains. Suicide Squad is essentially Deadshot & friends movie, so I find it to be bullshit that they would consider that.

Given that they are 0/3 for making movies that aren't shit, my hopes are pretty fucking low.
Geoff Johns helps, but they'd need to change producers and editors and get rid of Snyder if they actually want to make good movies for once.

And where is this part?

BvS was all about hope and triumph, Superman hopes super hard in humanity, waivers for a moment and thinks about it, and then hopes super duper hard for humanity, so hard Batman stops being a villain. And now Batman is going to hope so hard the Justice League is going to form.

once Disney stops bribing critics

it wasnt getting any bad buzz, people were just memeing due to MoS. Stop being such an idiot.

>it wasnt getting any bad buzz, people were just memeing due to MoS.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I just watched Suicide Squad.

Can someone explain me why did Incubus died with a gay ass bomb?

If a simple bomb could kill him why didn't they call in a Rocket strike on their location. Waller was far enough away.

Is this a fresh hot meme?

I have the impretion that they suceed because El Diablo melted his hearth.

But they never really explained it, the movie is stupid.

>this thread
Salty, salty, salty.

>geoff johns named co-head of DC Films division
>Sup Forums is still in dead end jobs if they ever work at all

same fag

Read it, faggot

I dont know, why did the super secret task force require an escort? Werent the bombs enough? Wouldnt that undermine their cover story? Why did Waller threaten Harley with a deactivated neck bomb?

Shazam is literally the only upcoming DC movie that has any chance of being great
>Outside of DCCU canon
>Based dwayne the rock johnson as Black Adam
>No Zack Snyder

Same logic that leads to:
"Let's bring a team of mostly regular humans with guns and mental problems, one guy with boomerangs, one guy with a skin condition, one dude who can legit shoot fire but is pyrophobic now cos he melted his family, and some chick with a sword who's got my back to fight literal fucking demons I mean it worked in Doom right?"
>But what about the guy who could climb?
"Well he could have climbed up Zack Snyder's asshole to pull out a handy plot device that would have helped us win, he was actually kind of the key element to the plan but he acted like a dipshit so I blew him up."

IE what fucking logic?

>Outside of DCCU canon

Not anymore

>literally just a wrestling-style event movie instead of cape bullshit
I can't wait to hear Dwayne monologue before a fight

If it ever gets fucking made. Also think of this, do you really think WB could pull off that material? I dread to think how they would do the Billy/Shazam dynamic.

Billy's probably gonna be in his early twenties.

>but WW might possibly suck
I foresee a "standing ovation" post, followed by the cold hard reality of a low 30 RT score and majority negative ratings from critics.

A bunch of people have come out and said that Johns has no real power and that his appointment was just to placate fans.

link?

>putting the guy who is responsible for GL 2011 in charge

Is WB fucking with us?

Change it to BCU already. We ways laughed about Iron man IV, V, Iron man and his friends Avengers, Age of Iron man and Captain America:Iron Man but we may also get Batcock at DC's kek

Justice League is going to be as bad as BvS, if not worse. I am foreseeing a disaster on the scale of Cutthroat Island, or The Adventures Of Pluto Nash.

He was a consultant that they completely ignored apparently. Reynolds has said that they didn't even have a working script when they started filming.

>hope
>wait until Justice League
>directed by Zack Snyder
nope, try again

Ironically enough, neither did Iron Man.

Seconding this, link please.

Not the first user, but he's an executive for an entity that exists inside DC. The films are a WB Studios property and they already have the right to the IP. They are also the ones that pay the bills and either get the profits (or losses) assigned to their business unit.

It's like assuming the Marvel Comics people get to tell Marvel Studios what to do so and that Disney, as the people who ultimately supply the money and pay the bills, allow that.

In this scenario, The Cereal King is essentially someone from Marvel Comics try to tell Josh Whedon or Kevin Feige what to do with Age of Ultron.

That doesn't mean that he doesn't get to make suggestions on the scripts, or suggest casting, or suggest story arcs for adaptations, etc.

But he doesn't get to say, edit the films, direct the films, cast the films, pick the writers for the films, decide whether or not they will adapt any canon comic book material or complete ignore it, doesn't decide casting, costumes, doesn't pick locations, pick any of the production crew, etc.

In short, he gets no real say of any real significance. Snyder's wife gets more say so and more actual authority and power.

>current critics savaging a feminist movie
lolno

>is there any hope for the dcu?

Um, you just listed it in your opening post?

They gotta stop thinking EPIC STORY = GOOD.

Which DCEU film has an epic story?
They have loud soundtracks, disjointed scripts, unintentionally hilarious dialogue and bizarre characterizations.
Where is this great epic story at?

The problem isn't that Goyer is writing above everyone's head, it's that he and Snyder are veering off into their own OC Universe, and it's far from an improvement over the one general audiences were hoping for. It strongly appeals to the Snyders and to Snyder fanboys.
Critics be damned, the theaters full of people like the MCU stuff better. So OF COURSE their rivals are going to try to emulate their best working stuff.

And it's high time they got to it.

>Buzzcut Tim Drake

Ew.

That's probably Damian

It has Batman in it.
It's gonna do well enough for them to make more, even if their idiot promotional team charts it to be the greatest grossing film of all time.

Goyer is out of the DCEU.

>Hype
Gotham City Sirens is being directed by David Ayer, user. You know, the guy who directed Suicide Squad.

The original Berlanti script is actually pretty good.
Waller is replaced with Alan Scott, who secretly is on Hal's side by the end, and teases he was a "Green Lantern of a different sort" at one point.

>None of this bad.

Yes it fucking is. David Ayer is directing Gotham City Sirens. This is the same guy who thought giving Joker a "DAMAGED" tatto right on his forehead was a good idea. I shudder at how he will mess up Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

Catwoman will have a PUSSY tattoo.

One bad David is out and one bad David is in

Oh, I never said "great." But they seem really focus on making these movies so large and epic that they don't focus on characters and actual stories.

Green Lantern is a big example of that. The next Star Wars?? That's the last thing it should be. It's a cop in space. They didn't need big mythology to it. No need to inject parallax, yellow rings. It didn't make Hal stand out from the other GLs.

Man of Steel? Inject space opera. Works to some extent, but it misses the point of Superman entirely. The large "epic" clashes overshadow any scenes that show his humanity.

BvS is, fundamentally, a simple story but with lots of shit added on top of it. "We gotta make it epic. Throw in doomsday. Throw in Wonder Woman. Throw in a nuke Throw in ALL THE DKR." Any different takes like "should superheroes be accountable for collateral damage?" Out the window.

Suicide Squad. "Let's try and make it epic by adding magic and some sort of doomsday weapon!" They're black-ops JLA/Avengers. I rather have that film as a complete riff/parody on the first hour of Age of Ultron. Somethng more grounded...Send those guys to another country to topple a local post-soviet government in Argus' interest. They can have Red Star be the antagonist.

>having hope
>for movies aimed at children
>or anything

Grow up

Also, please no more "nodding" films. Those films have so many "nods" that their heads have fallen off.

Ruining the legacy of the greatest heroes in comics will always be worse than doing nothing at all.

>>for movies aimed at children

These are some dark children's movies.

Right? Batman doesn't bomb. DCfags will lie to themselves and say its the best movie ever made (no company wars please) while still being mediocre or trash. A fucking november release?! like..... does WB want it to fail? fuck.....LEts rush JL with a guy who has yet to prove himself and slot in the fall.

I wish fans had a back bone and would STOP paying for garbage. Every DC fan is like "hopefully next time" like... mother fucker when they fuck up this many times you stop giving em money.

There is no way Disney will allow any DC movie to be rated positively.

Wonder Woman looks like the only movie out of any of these that looks worth half a fuck, and that only because it does something creative with the setting and has WW1 infantry versus Greek amazons.

This this this. DShit needs to fucking die.

When are they going to bring Bill Wilson into the DCEU universe

I just hope they get the character right though

>IT-IT'S A DIDNEY CONSPIRASEE
I hate the DCEU too user but ffs...

I can only imagine what type of fallout would look like at WB if justice league tanks hopefully something like this
>m.youtube.com/watch?v=DrQcNwsjVEQ

If the director doesn't screw the pooch, the studio will come in and fuck it up.

Its a no win scenario for Johns

>implying it isn't
You're either stupid or naive

>“We accelerated the story to get to the hope and optimism a little faster,” said Mr. Berg.

So everyone is like "man you can't just start a film universe of superheroes with 2 movies with A LOT of superheroes" and they're like "Yeah, we're gonna make it EVEN FASTER instead of taking our time and make good movies of every heroe".

this

...

look at all that proof you posted, also most of the pre reviews buzz was great

slashfilm.com/batman-v-superman-reactions/

you fucking idiot

Oh I don't think that's a good choice. His style would not be fun for Gotham City Sirens.

Sweet delusion.

>inb4 WB starts making only movies about villains and totally drops the heroes

all depends on WW and Justice League

granted the Suicide Squad was more heroic than the actual heroes

Johns was a mistake... he'll dumb down the DCEU to Marvel-style quipshit.

They should've gotten Morrison, he and Snyder would go hand in hand for true capekino.

After the rumours of hearing that Wonder Woman filming and production is a complete mess, I'm not getting my hopes up.

they confirmed it exists in the same world dumbass

>WW might possibly suck
>possibly

You should really prove your points, pal.

>muh bribing critics
>Much intelligent movies
The movies are shit.Deal with it.

No it's probably Tim Drake because that's exactly how he looks in the Arkham games.

Geoff could save DCEU if he was in charge there from the begining. We could get, at least, something like new52 Earth-1. Now he need to fix literally doomed universe by making it more simillar with actual DC universe. Sad.

I don't understand why can't they just make a fucking Batman movie with the Bat and The Joker. Put Harley too for some extra bucks.

Their plans are retarded.

Suicide Squad should have been a thriller assassination movie. Squad sent after an ex-lexcorp scientist who is selling data on doomsday to a bunch of governments and mega corps at an auction. SS sent in because the US can't go in officially, classic mission with high stakes. Villain is a few meta's from a terror cell that wants the doomsday data.

>I don't understand why can't they just make a fucking Batman movie with the Bat and The Joker. Put Harley too for some extra bucks.
Because Warner didn't want Batman level money, they want Harry Potter level money.

The DCEU only existed because Harry Potter ended, and Warner needed something to replace it. More Batman wasn't going to be enough, so the new CEO decided that they need Avengers level money. Further, they want Avengers level money without actually putting in the time to build up a fandom. The most important part of why people ever even watched to watch the Avengers was the fanbase, and Warner skipped that.

Selina will have the tramp stamp WHORE to signify that she used to be a prostitute and the word PUSSY will be tattooed on her face.

As for Ivy, she'll have plants and vines tattooed on her but she'll have a massive tattoo on her back that reads DOWN WITH JOKER HARLEY BABY COME BACK FUCK because nobody cares about Ivy beyond being Harley's girlfriend.

Basically anything paramilitar small scale would have been ten times better

Bingo.

I have clue why they decided to go with the ye-olde-blue-beam-into-the-sky when its been done a ton already, and when its so far beyond the scope of the squad.

Also makes it clear that if the squad is putting down regular soldiers and cops that they are not the good guys.

>Because Warner didn't want Batman level money, they want Harry Potter level money.

>Implying more than one HP film has even broken a billion dollars adjusted.

Their superhero films have been among their most profitable films of all time. Particularly Batman.

...

Comic movies that broke 1 billion adjusted for ticket price inflation:

1. Superman (1978): $1,789,662,782

2. The Avengers (2012): $1,653,908,290

3. The Dark Knight (2008): $1,575,134,156

4. Batman (1989): $1,560,313,276

5. Spider-Man (2002): $1,474,691,001

6. Avengers AoU (2015): $1,405,403,694

7. Spider-Man 2 (2004): $1,241,245,691

8. Spider-Man 3 (2007): $1,234,679,620

9. Iron Man 3 (2013): $1,216,904,288

10. Captain America CW (2016): $1,153,304,495

11. The Dark Knight Rises (2012): $1,150,104,701

12. Superman II (1980): $1,149,892,600

It really takes a lot of fucking up to not make a fortune from Batman or Superman. Let alone Batman AND Superman.

Moreso Spider-Man.
Setting aside matters of prestige and nostalgia, Spider-Man is simply the most profitable single character that Marvel has ever invented.

It's quite possible Homecoming will net 10 figures easily.

Can you post the wikipedia links?
