Agreed.

...

It's the silver/vibranium that really pulls it together. Also super happy the necklace is there

I like how they pulled off making the eyes actually white. It really works function with the rest of the outfit.

I find there is a bit of dissonance between the looks MCU characters have....sometimes they go full super hero, like BP and Spidey....but then other characters simply don't wear costumes at all like Quickslav and Wanda and tacticool characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow(I get that she should be though), and then some characters seem like they have a comic book look but one that's trying to look more "grounded" than they could be like Cap and Thor

It kinda bugs me cause it's visually uneven

I think Marvel has only gotten better with their costumes. Quicksilver never really got a costume, just a sports shirt that had his colors (which looked fine to me for what it was). Wanda actually has a costume now, but I guess some are still hung up on the tiara, even though I personally am fine with the headband. Widow hasnt really changed from her comic look, its just boring to begin with. Clint however I dont see a reason to wear the mask. Whens the last time he wore that in comics anyway? But hey if they slap it on him, awesome.

Because everybody in real life dresses the same way with the same theme and aesthetic right?

This isn't real life.

I think what user is trying to say is that they all shouldnt look like they shop at the same store

Before they bring the whole MCU to a close, I want to see at least one movie where Hawkeye wears his signature cowl and Thor pits on his winged helmet again.

but they do... Iron-Man, Black Panther, Vision, Spider-Man they all look like they've been designed by the same tailor

You may get your wish for Thor, either in Ragnarok or Infinity War seeing how both seem like the kind of thing you would wear a battle helmet for. Hawkeye on the other hand is less likely, unless the cowl would give him a HUD to help organize/mark Chitauri targets or something.

I wonder if they'll find a way to make Scarlet Witch's headdress work.

WE IZ KINGZ

Because they all have different origins in their creation, Spidey and BP are supposed to be outrageous because that is what a teenager from brooklyn trying to be a superhero would come up with and BP is supposed to be this mythical figure.

Quicksilver and SW were just some kids so they just wore street clothes.

Hawkeye and Widow were shield operatives and wore the appropriate gear

Thor and Cap wear actual combat which is why it looks "grounded" Cap more so because he's just wearing modified army fatigues painted red white and blue

Black Panther doesn't though.
Vision's a creation of Ultron and Stark.
Spider-Man's costume was designed by Stark.
Stark is Iron Man.

Stop the memes

I think it should be uneven since they would all have different costumes made of different materials and designed for different purposes.

Cap is a soldier and has less fantastic powers so he's tacticool, Spider-Man can dodge bullets so he gets a skintight suit that maximizes freedom of movement, Panther's shit is made of sci fi materials so it should be all sleek and futuristic, and characters like Clint and Wanda never really were public symbols like Iron Man and Cap so they just slapped some outfits together that worked for them.

I much prefer the comic booky non logic that "you're a super hero now, better wear a super suit"

Jesus Christ, he only wore that damn thing ONCE.

ONCE!

better than nonce

Why hasn't he played an electric guitar yet?

Never

>nonce
It's funny when you realize what that word means in bongland

Honestly, would it work if it were a Batman mask?

Yeah, in theory
The only reason it wouldn't is because Batman has had such a long live action history, and never had standard white eyes, so that might be jarring to people

And it looks pretty good too

>Made by swedes

So, what's your favorite MCU costume?
I have a hard time choosing between Cap's suit from Winter Soldier and Ant Man's from his origin movie.

i was really disappointed when i figured out it was cgi

Keep crying spandexfag. Or did you really want Toomes in a bird suit?

I wanna make love to ant-mans suit, goddamn.

The Vultures flight suit looks wonderful.

His fucking wings make me wanna punch myself.

The MCU has made some mistakes, but I adore the fact that they are embracing full helmets for their costume designs.

Except Thor.

I think they are awesome, makes him look like a fucking plane combined with his costume

I only hope in one of the movies he dons a kick ass full norse helm with big head wings. But I doubt it, since Chris' face is his major selling point

Hemsworth said it was too heavy (didn't stop the others from wearing theirs longer)

What if they just made the wings smaller

I really hate this season, but that suit is pretty nice.

But it's not.

Think about it: ain't nobody making costumes for random civie supers. If you're not a member of an organization, you go into combat with what you have, track pants or what-have-you. Spider-Man made his own cuz he's kind of a dork like that.

Coincidence in-universe, real life: one costume designer for the movie.

I think most of the suits are pretty nice, albeit with some garish parts, the belts in particular are blinding, the characters aren't to interesting and the monsters are forgettable, but Zombie Genm is a fucking gorgeous suit.

Breathing in that mask must have been a pain in the ass.

Outside of Cap's Avengers costume, I don't think there's any outright bad one.

My favorites are WS Cap, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, BP and pretty much all the Iron Man suits. I wish the Guardians had more interesting costumes though, especially Star-Lord.

Yeah both Boseman and Rudd said that those masks are a pain in the ass especially since they film in the heat of the summer.

Most of the time it's the stunt doubles in those heavy action scenes though. Those guys deserve a lot of credit for the crazy shit they pull off.

I imagine it would be a bit stuffy, but the worst is seeing in it. If toku is anything similar to how the MCU have designed their helmets, the stunt men have very very little visibility in their helmets, about as much as a tiny slit. It might be different for Hollywood though, they may have more visible helmets, since any eye holes, slots or visibility through the eyes of the helmets can be covered up in editing, or just having the budget to afford to build visibility in their helmets

Nah.

i remember seeing the actor in a white-gridded version of the suit made in cgi

it was an image posted here, it was the scene where he's talking to zemo in the snow

why does this look like cgi while and arent?

i remember definitely seeing cgi while watching the movie

i think his mask is the only thing that isnt tampered with

the rest of the suit is most likely polished up by cgi

I remember Widow having a suit that let her climb on walls Spidey style in the comics, she should have that in the movies to be more interesting.

I mean it's possible that it's touched up with some CGI to look better on screen like said.

The costume is real though, as seen from the b-roll footage.

Because not every costume translates well to real life.
Wanda's comic costume would look absolutely retarded and theres no way to make it not look like either cheap cosplay, or a porn parody.

Whats's worse is that they film in Atlanta.
That place is a fucking oven in Summer, which is when CW began filming.

The B-Roll in question.

Vision is also 90% make-up, but they still use some CGI for the face to look more like an android.

For some of those costumes there's a more practical version that looks worse, which is for stunt scenes, which then gets improved with CGI.
Bucky's metal arm, for example, has one version that's actually made of metal that looks good but it's also heavy, and then another one of plastic for action scenes.

Nah, best just to replace her with Jess/Spider Woman later. Better costume (not current one), and she does everything she does and more. Not to mention Carol needs a supporting cast

man, i forgot how fucking good this movie was

Same with Cap's shield. They have one made of metal that's really heavy for normal scenes with no action and one made of rubber when he has to bash someone over the head with it. Then when it has to fly in impossible angles, they CGI it.

Maybe they'll make Carol and Scarlet Witch a duo.

>Not to mention Carol needs a romantic interest
FTFY.
Or maybe they'll use Wanda to replace Clea in the Doctor Strange movies.

Apparently they have some sort of cooling system inside the costumes so they don't get heat stroke, you can see it in this Vision featurette on how they made him.

youtube.com/watch?v=v__8kDWJ6t0

Still, it's definitely uncomfortable for those that wear masks like Panther and Ant-Man.

youtube.com/watch?v=8hwTsrBFaMM

More about how they made Vision since it's pretty cool.

They use that logic in Winter Soldier, Civil War, and Ant-Man. Based Russos.

End of Winter Soldier Cap, Civil War Scarlet Witch, and Iron Man 2 War Machine

That's pretty much the rule in MCU as well though

Fairly sure Steve has said "suit up" in basically every movie since his introduction.

Would totally be behind it but I don't think Disney would allow it. I just think the two would work well on screen. You have Carol as the hard hitting tank, and Jess as the goon hitting hand to hand spy. Wanda learning to control her powers with Strange might work.

I really want to see Strange mentoring Wanda in Infinity War.

I don't care that it's a villain suit Yellowjacket was fucking beautiful

Nothing wrong with good villain suits.
I thought Crossbones had a badass costume.
Vulture in Homecoming also looks sick.

>Crossbones had a run-in with the Avengers before
>we never find out anything about it before he's killed off
Lame.

They're saving it for Infinity War.

Or maybe Ragnarok.

I thought that was TWS.

Wasent he the agent of SHIELD who tried arresting cap in the elevator then fought Falcon in the sky scraper before it fell on him?

youtube.com/watch?v=2vIZh8k8CnI

Judging by the promo art released, he's gonna have it in Ragnarok. At least when he's on Sakaar anyway.

Really? I completely missed that.

He wore a different costume.

Yes. His scarred face was the aftermath of that building that fell on him after Sam jumped to safety via helicopter

Cool, although that's clearly not the classic helmet.

Well pardon me for not paying attention.

Aside from that, Maybe user was refering to Falcons line about Crossbones hating their guts? They all ready knew who he was under the mask, which does sort of imply a previous scuffle. Was it in the tie-in comic?

He went by the name crossbones before he went all Darth Vader. They knew it was him, and they knew dropping a building on him didn't improve relations.

disappointing

would have preferred a fully practical suit

What? He was a SHIELD agent

Dude

He was, and he had a codename. Crossbones.

where was this shown?

i dont even think that's thor

not sure what difference it would have made, aside from looking worse

Oh excuse me, he assumed the codename after the events of Winter Soldier. Even still, Cap and friends knew who he was.

How is a pretty good question

I'm sure it is.

My question is whether or not it's official art, given that that the source appears to be an unknown Thai publication.

I'm checking my computer of the tie in comic now to see if it's in there, the only thing I can remember from it is the Avengers figting Ultimo

Where's his hammer? Don't tell me he becomes unworthy and Natalie Portman picks it up in Infinity War.

Don't worry, Natalie thinks capeshit is beneath her now and is gone.

Funny thing is, she's backtracking now. Recently she's gone back on previous statements saying she's "open to return to marvel." Meaning she knows her career is shit. Frankly they should dump her, she's part of the reason why Thor movies suck

You have two awesome swords, why would you need a lame hammer.

But how else will he stop at the designated time?!?
