I don't know if Ancient Egyptians have a really great modern analogue, but they would have looked like the darker spectrum of Mediterranean people. To me, that seems closer to white than black, so if I have to choose white or POC I'd go with white. The opposite argument could also be made. Why reduce the races to two? Because it sets the stage for the rise of a single, global human race.
