Why did it flop?

...

>sequel to some movie in the 80s that only "cinemaphile" faggots care about
why wouldn't it

Its doing fine outside the US. Expecting a sequel to a 35 year old movie with niche appeal to do gangbusters was stupid on Sony's part anyway. I imagine it will break even overall.

Its doing very well internationally

Dont know why burgers dont watch kino

Because its a souless cashgrab and they put Ford in there because he might die soon.

Also, im sorry to say this but IM FUCKING TIRED OF THE FUTURE AND CYBERPUNK seriously fuck you its more annoying that zombies.

Also because most real Blade Runner fans (like me) know a turd when they see one, there is no fucking sequel the original is the best, same applies with Robocop.

2deep4Burgers

It wasn't marketed aggressively enough. Don't be naive, financial success has all to do with marketing, Avatar proved that.

Thanks for your input bud.

Why did it bomb in the US?

Probably too long and drawn out for normies.

I thought it was one of the most beautiful and atmospheric movies I've seen in years.

>Its doing fine outside the US.

the eternal yank does it again

just read any of the threads about it.
even faggots here do not understand the movie and you expect normies to ?

Well memed friend

The trailers make it look like it was filmed in a strip mall. All the budget went to the executives pockets.

Because the fluoride in their tap water dulls their minds, making them unable to pay attention to anything longer than 3 minutes at a time.

That's why youtube is the greatest propaganda tool america's ever invented, and they can't watch anything but marvel movies, that only requires them to concentrate on plot for no longer than 2 minutes at a time, before hulk starts smashing.

Every great thing coming out of America now, is made by Europeans.

Here's a hint OP:
Women are dumb

its not capeshit or starshit

.......

Americucks will go see Star Wars and Avengers ten times in the theaters, but when true kino come out they will only see it once. They deserve having their shitty franchises filled with niggers.

Americans are stupid.

Women. No really, women write op eds about how the movie is sexist, women read this, they don't go to the movie. Hell, they shame their attached men into not going. Bad news for the film.

Are these accusations baseless? Yes. Does it matter? No.

>First wasn't a commercial success
>Sequel isn't a commercial success
Not sure what the issue is here.

That's why I drink Dasani

Wow I'm suddenly gay now.

>a film barely anyone actually wanted
the original didn't need a sequel

black people and women - seriously.

Had a dozen women walk out early. Had black people snoring loudly because their small pea brains couldn't handle the film.

Stupid fucking niggers.

If the film is good it will make all the money back long-term, same as the original.

Hows the marketing in america?

In australia its everywhere. Also the movie is doing very well here in tickets.

I think the difference is that sony is distributing outside of america and not necessarily that burgers are all stupid jokes aside

It didn't have the noir feel of the original, and the plot dragged a bit. Can you think of one line of dialogue? Blade Runner was super quotable.

>Why did it flop?

Too long, to dull, budget way too high.

Sci fi hits are underbudgeted cult movies that overdeliver. Follow that and reap the rewards.

The first one flopped as well.

Chickenhead moviegoers don't understand it.

No attractive women.
Shit lighting by Deakins
Obviously autistic
Obviously numale
Shit ugly women (the cuban is a shitskin)
Jarrd Leto in a role written for David Bowie
Ryan Box Office Poison I cant emote for shit Gosling

> It didn't have the noir feel of the original, and the plot dragged a bit.
You're wrong but this is why it bombed? Seriously? You think it bombed because of it?
>Can you think of one line of dialogue? Blade Runner was super quotable.
Many, actually.

Because it had only fucking whites in it you fucking poltard

And if we lived in Hillary's America, that would mean something. But we don't. Tons of movies have gotten far more flak for being "sexist" but still made mad bank. And since BR2049 got overwhelming critical acclaim, your argument makes even less sense.

>Had a dozen women walk out early. Had black people snoring loudly
You do know that means they already paid for their tickets right?

Be cause Americans are chink tier turboplebs who wont watch a film without a POC in it. Chinks wont watch anything without a reference to china in it.

imagine having to defend yourself against her in a self defense situation, lets just say it would not be pretty.

>implying this wasn't the most numale movie of the year

what happened to her to make her like this

>no chinks in Fast & Furious or Your Name, two of the biggest blockbusters in China

Try again.

she got HARVESTED

INTERLINKED.

>the cuban is a shitskin
she's literally white

There was somalian looking antiquary. Don't see many of those irl.

its 3 hours long

F&F had a chink character in it for ages, Your Name is cuckime so they just self insert anyway.

Then why didn't the numales go and see it?

lol

>F&F had a chink character in it for ages
Korean. And he was killed off long before the one that topped the box office there.

By that logic, Rogue One shouldn't have flopped in China.

numales are feminists so they boycotted the movie, only patricians went to see it hence its poorer box office results

She's a shitskin you fucking hypocrite

I honestly don't think Chinks can into fictional universes.

If Argentina is white then Cubans are white too

>deakins
>shit lighting

U wot m8?

Because ameriburgers can't into Cyber kino.

Do you realize that this movie will be the benchmark of all the future entertainment technologies?

>I honestly don't think Chinks can into fictional universes.
99% of their film industry is fictional universes.

just because she's from cuba doesn't make her a shitskin
her family is all spanish from spain

I'm pretty sure that's a Chinese history drama

>spain
>white

lmaoing at u rite now

>listening to a podcast about it
>they say it was too cold and didn't move them emotionally
Do you have to be a lonely guy to understand this?

Right. In the same way LotR and Warcraft are American historical dramas.

The thing about "geek" properties is that there's usually a billion ways for corporations to milk nerds of their disposable income. So while the movie will flop, the property will probably still make money through shit like pic related and 12 different blu ray releases

>you wouldn't fuck her
when you're so racist that you become gay

t. turk

She's castiza. You see women like her in Caribbean hispanic countries

>that shit digital look
Stop being a hivemind redditor the tone looks like shit

Literally a fucking shitskin latino you fucking third worlder.

Without digital, the scene at the sea wall would not be doable

Blade runner actually had little merchandise and I expect this one of follow. Despite what people are saying this is not a nu-male movie.

>two soundtracks
>artbook
>figurines
Dunno, they seem to be pushing the merch hard now.

I've seen worse. Also how much the merch sells is a factor too.

>heres why i think it bombed
OMG really! youre so wrong but OMG!
>name dialogue
YEAH! f-in loads of dialogue! i wont, though!
fuck off retard

Did it really bomb? 80 million opening isn't terrible for a 250 mil budget movie.

>why did a bad movie flop

It's a mystery

Probably because it's a three-hour-long sequel to an ambitiously slow-paced cyberpunk noir that wasn't appreciated until 2005. And even then, a lot of people front like they really like Blade Runner, but don't. I think Blade Runner is OK, but it benefits HEAVILY from having a prime Harrison Ford. That tears in rain speech isn't even in the top 10 best parts in that movie.

exactly this.

The original bombed too.

Sony shot themselves in the foot. Instead of going for their real demographic (25-45 year old males) they marketed the film towards the comic-con/normie/nerd/geek crowd, especially young audience members. I mean they had to considering the 185 million budget. But instead of making a film that lives up to the original, they made something that neither felt like a true sequel to the 1982 film, nor something they could really successfully market for mass appeal either.

Too slow to attract normies outside of those already invested in geek/nerd culture. Too bereft of substance to appeal to the older, more experienced Blade Runner (1982) fans. That leaves them with the only demographic that did like the film: normie geek/nerd teens, who take the film's laborious pacing, flat characters, paper-thin plot and monotonous tone as signs of quality. The kind of teens who unironically call Blade Runner 2049 an 'arthouse film', and who are, more importantly, without jobs and/or have no means of watching the film without an adult.

Had the filmmakers involved actually put more time in writing this movie and its characters, instead of focusing so much on the look of the film, trying so hard to capture the awe and atmosphere of the first film, Blade Runner 2049 possibly could have been more successful.

There's a lot more now (t-shirts, etc.) because of the movie's cult classic status.

Because Virgin Villeneuve is the flavour of the week for Sup Forums and nobody else cares about him.

NO ONE WANTS TO SEE HARRISON FORD PRETEND HE ISN'T 80 YEARS OLD

you know it's true.
it isn't 1979 anymore.

Nolan isn't any better

because amerilards don't understand anything that isn't muh patriotism muh guns muh kapow kersplat action movies with robert downey jr a true merrican hero to stop the war on christmas

Because no one wants to go to the movies anymore.

it's gonna make fury road/edge of tomorrow money

#thannausergate

>being small brained

>And if we lived in Hillary's America, that would mean something. But we don't.
Are you being retarded on purpose?

>NO ONE WANTS TO SEE HARRISON FORD PRETEND HE ISN'T 80 YEARS OLD

But he's not. Deckard is old, beat up and sick of it all, living out his days in an abandoned casino in an irradiated Las Vegas.

Just saw it last night.

Pros:
-visuals
-holographic wife
-leto

Cons:
-too grand in scale for a noir
-long and drawn out
-ford

It was decent and I might go see it again just for the eye candy but it still doesn't hold a candle to the first film(directors cut of final). Should of been it's own story not involving the original movie just set in the same universe.

Cut out the revolution bit and restructure the Leto scenes to have more connection with the rest of the movie and you'd have fixed it to be honest.

>Cells
>Interlinked
>YOU'RE WAY OFF BASLINE
>You look like a good Joe
>Sometimes when you love someone you have to be a stranger
I actually think it was one of the most quotable films this year

This, I saw on facebook so many comment from females saying it's a boring movie.

>Cut out the revolution bit
Agree 100%.

>want to check my left eye? Lol jk it's gone :p
>We're creating an army
*cue a bunch of replicant showing up out of the darkness*
>here's your gun back. Kill Deckard.

They did, but what did they say to their friends when they left?

college

Not a lot of people wants to watch a sequel to a movie they never watched.
