>The ones I hated most ironically enough was the Lando Calrissian trilogy, which was preposterously edgy, just absolute racist torture porn and depravity. I have no idea how those got in, it's a million times worse than Splinter of the Mind's Eye. Lando gets tortured by badguys like what, three times? And one of them was really weird force memory torture. Only the "Tied up to a cactus-thing in the absolutely dry freezing cold" had maybe a little too much detail with his skin starting to crack.
It just made his triumphs all the sweeter in the end.
Also where are the X-Wing books you monster? If you're gonna include Courtship you gotta include the Wraiths at the very least, preferably also the Rogue Squadron books.
I, Jedi was quite good as well. As was the Non-Adventures Han Trilogy
Black fleet crisis was take-it-or-leave it (DEFINITELY leave-it in the case of the luke subplot, I get that he needed to be away for the main plot to take place but this was crazy.)
Most of the WEG Adventure Journal stuff was fun, as were the Bantam collections thereof and the other Tales Of/From books. (For the most part, some were wanky or campy)
Hand of Thrawn duology was also good, as were most parts of the Galaxy of FEAR kiddie books (Goosebumps meets Star Wars was a shockingly huge success other than the whacked out powerlevels like the first book's antagonist), and the Young Jedi Knights YA books
I liked the kid parts of the Jedi Academy Trilogy and Crystal Star, but not the bulk of either work, and some of the scenery descriptions in Children of the Jedi (Belsavis was cozy as fuck even though I know I'd personally be miserable living somewhere with no middle ground between humid, sulphur stinking jungles and glacial iceball)) and Darksaber was an example of how close a book can come to perfection before falling into an abyss of mediocrity.
I have a completely different set of opinions on Del-Rey era books, but I've read fewer of them.

Why did they have to kill off 8Bro? He could've been a good insight to the Inquisitors and the fate of force sensitives under the empire, especially if he'd been taken alive.

Unpopular opinion time I like maul in clone wars, even if him being alive was dumb the way I thought darkside infighting was pretty cool. In rebels I am still not sure how I feel about him.
Isaac Barnes
I would love if to sort of parallel the whole 'You can get married in Luke's Order' thing from the EU they make it where Luke's Jedi don't mind using the force for menial shit like throwing things away halfway across the room, etc and it's explained that the Jedi should revel in the force and use acts like force grabbing something from across the room to remind them of the innocence of the light side. Make it where the prequel Jedi being oppressive when it comes to menial force abilities was really unnecessary and was a byproduct of their obsession with the light side (is moving a pear across the room really abusing the force? Really?) and was part of what led Anakin to turn to the dark side because they made him be too cautious to the point that he couldn't use his abilities in the simplest ways without being punished.
To clarify I don't mean that I want Luke's Jedi having relationships. I just want them to be less oppressive than the Jedi of the Republic.
Aaron Cruz
Oh god, I cannot wait.
Darth Maul squaring off against Old Ben Sabers ignited. Stances taken. Meagre words shared, then silence. After all, this will be a physical conversation.
Then as Maul charges forward, bloodred saber raised, howling, "KENOBI!" at the top of his lungs, he drips on an old buried krayt dragon bone and plunges into Obi-Wan's fire, igniting his robes. Obi-Wan, for his part, is too busy having Mustafar flashbacks to help and wanders off in a daze mumbling, "Good friend," over and over again.
And this is precisely why old men should only battle over a chess board.
James Hill
That's pretty much how most of us here feel. We liked him in TCW (even though some of us felt his comeback was cheap we at least appreciated the story they were able to tell with him), his return in Rebels is a bit more mixed.
Personally I felt he didn't need to be in Rebels but I'm glad they're at least finally giving his story a conclusion instead of dragging it on into another time period.
They better not fake us out

We already got that in books bro. Let me sum it up for you
>republic spends first few years cleaning up Imps >sets up the new galactic senate >senate spends the next 20 years doing fuckall but builds tons of statues and stupid shit around their offices >people start to get nostalgic for the Empire when shit would actually get done >First Order forms >half the senate backs First Order secretly, other half doesn't think any threats exist even though someone blew up a building and nearly killed Leia >First Order supports kick Leia out of the Senate and frame the only other competent senator so he's out of the way
That's all it is. Pure incompetence on the part of the New Republic's non-existent government leads to First Order sympathizers.
Ayden Ortiz
He'd definitely be toned down, most of his exploits don't fit into new canon.
I imagine it'd be like Thrawn. The Thrawn trilogy obviously isn't canon but they can keep the core of the character to appease fans.
Blake Powell

Probably in Episode 8 or 9. Luke will start telling Rey about what happened with his new Jedi Order and it'll trigger a flashback sequence. There'll be some montage of Luke recruiting and training new Jedi. The last one he recruits is Michael Cera's character, when Luke asks him his name he turns to the camera with his biggest shit-eating grin and says "Oh me? I'm Kyle Katarn". Next bit of the flashback shows Luke trying to train everyone and Kyle trying desperately to be friends with Ben. Ben finally snaps and kills everyone starting with Kyle.

They can certainly keep at least the Dark Forces part of it.
Next nearly THIRTY years, not twenty. They basically (Moronically) compressed the entire old New Republic Remnant-Warlords era into a single year after Endor.
All that fucking story potential just flushed down the shitter.
Ryan Rivera
I said twenty because I was pretty sure Bloodline takes place around then, could be wrong.

Honestly, I think it's because of Imax. When I saw Rogue One in Imax it looked pretty amazing every time he was on screen, and I knew it was coming. Seeing it again in webms it looks really obviously CGI'd. I'm probably going to go see it again sometime just in regular 2D and am curious how it'll look.
Someone mentioned awhile back it probably looks far better and less obvious in Imax because of better resolution or something.

See but I don't even understand that. He just looked fake, it wasn't a matter of a bad resemblance or anything. Like, if his shots were isolated it might be fine, but every scene he was in kept flicking back and forth between his CGI face and Krennic's normal human face, which made it so obvious.
Kevin Roberts
By being honest, only tryhards say it was obvious and terrible CGI.

>Star Wars: Guardians of the Whills >Give it the budget of TCW and allow it to show graphic violence on a channel like Adult Swim. >Set thousands of years before any of the movies. >At this point in history there is no centralized government in the galaxy and because the core has been barely explored Jedha is the center of all intergalactic travel. It is also an important planet to many different force religions because it's high density of kyber crystals has attracted many philosophers and messiahs from many different force religions. >Vong (but minus weird force negativity shit) or some shit invade from the Unknown Regions and eventually take Jedha. >These different force religions meet up at Ahch-To and call for a crusade to take back Jedha. They call themselves the Jedha Order. >An aspect of the show can be all these different force religions trying to find commonality in their different beliefs and trying to come up with a system that works. >The Jedha Order is based more of Western religions like Christianity compared to the later Jedi Order which is based off Eastern religions. >The Jedha believe the force is a manifestation of some god-like creatures called the Whills and they pray to the Whills. >Arcs are basically Jedha crusaders saving planets of innocent people from Vong and then going around to lay hands on children and pray for them. >The many alliances and whatnot formed in the show create the Old Republic. >Around Season 4 have the main character receive a vision from the Brother of Order 66/Darth Vader/the Death Star. >He tells the Council of Jedha of some Chosen One who will someday save the galaxy from some horrible force user. (cont)
Noah Robinson
>Some Jedha believe him. Some think he's bullshitting them. Others believe that he himself is the Chosen One. The ones that believe he's the Chosen One form the Revanchist (Revelation in the Old Tongue, the revelation being the visions of the Chosen One) movement. >He eventually starts losing it from all the pressure and accepts his title of Chosen One but deep down he knows he's only doing it because he wants power for himself. >The Revanchists tactics slowly get more and more horrible as they're trying to prevent what they believe will be the end of the world. >Eventually they come to believe that since the Empire is formed from the Republic that the Old Republic is inherently evil and needs to be destroyed, along with the Jedha Order who will birth this Vader character who subjugates the galaxy in his Death Star. >The Revanchists go to war with the Old Republic and Jedha. By now the Vong have been completely stopped. >In this civil war the Revanchists begin using the dark side since they believe that Vader is only so evil because he wasn't able to properly comprehend the dark side and went too deep into it at the first taste he got. >The Jedha begin calling the Revanchists the Antisith'ai (antithesis in the Old Tongue) as a way to disavow them. This is eventually shortened to Sith. >The Revanchists proudly accept this name and the main character is renamed Darth (Dark Lord in the Old Tongue) Revan. >Series ends with the Sith going way too far into the dark side and infighting beginning. Forgot pic.
Adrian Flores
He did, especially in 3D, but I guess nobody expected such a complex piece of VFX in something as mundane as a single character shot.

>Give it the budget of TCW and allow it to show graphic violence on a channel like Adult Swim. Never gonna happen.

The OT would have scraped by on Disney XD fine, why the hell does Star Wars need mature ratings?
Jonathan Johnson
I dislike the attempts at tying the show to later installments and lore. Create something new instead of stupid names such as Revanchists, Antisith'ai and Jedha order.
Jack Moore
>Are those still just rumors? Yes. We know Filoni got a promotion to oversee the entire animation department, which implies more projects besides Rebels but we don't know what that may entail- shows, standalone (possibly straight to blu-ray) movies, etc.
Hunter Murphy
It is obvious, but I find only if you focus on the details. If you're just watching the scene and aren't focused on the minutia it's harder to tell?
I honestly cannot answer that because knowing it is CGI I find I cannot help but notice what is off about it. It's like when someone tells you not to think about an elephant, you literally cannot because in order to deliberately not think about it you have to think about what it is you aren't supposed to think about.
Caleb Martinez
I mostly wanted it to show that the ancient era of Star Wars is very similar to irl where it was absolutely horrible at times. Like Jedi going to save a planet only to have hand their fleet destroyed and to find out that all inhabitants of the village were rounded up and burned to death. Things like this would push Jedi to the dark side as they try and find absolutely any way possible to stop the invading army. Well Jedha has to be involved somehow since it has been called one of the planets where the Jedi Order was likely formed, the Sith need an explanation for their name and the Old Tongue already exists so it would make sense that Sith was some word in that language, and Revan is going to be in any Old Republic era thing no matter what because $$$ so they might as well make him well written instead of a gary stu who becomes a master in the light and dark side.

>4-LOM and Zuckuss episode
I actually hope they make 4-LOM and Zuckuss hate eachother as opposed to their being partners in the EU. If they keep Zuckuss as a Findsman, then I hope it'll serve as a contrast to 4-LOM. One finds their quarry through machine precision, the other through spirituality. And thus hate eachother.
