It's not the anime length I have an issue with, it's how far this fight has been stretched. Nightmare Luffy punching out Moriah inside Oars was satisfactory. We didn't need another arc finale fight stretched to breaking point right after Water Seven.
He had a crew like Luffy's. Friends, compatriots.
He had to watch them all die and couldn't do anything to stop it.
So his solution was to get a crew of zombies that he can't have any emotional investment in.

And it's right after thriller bark and brook finally joining.
The point is that Moira wouldn't be so powerful if he couldn't fight himself. And the manga has the fight not even last that long, you don't seem to get that a lot of the fight is padded out in the anime so of course you're going to get tired of the fight being longer even though if you just read the manga, it'd be over with 2 or more chapters that would only take you the time it takes for half an episode to run. Maybe even less.
Still an upgrade to his forces. Using power to gain more power takes time.
So with one thousand shadows, Moria coudln't even talk, but with like three hundred knocked out he remembered how to think and use his powers?
This seems a bit lackluster for an arc endgame boss.
He's already been wailed on and near-defeat and there's a time factor. His big super powered up form isn't as threatening as it could have been.
