asking bumps the thread

What are the titles?

>Bergman
>BR nigger
>Jose Val de Omar
>Rohmer
>Bresson
>Pressburger
>Polanski
There's nothing more despicable than cinephiles. They pretend to value form and originality, yet they only want items they can easily self-insert into as opposed to something that challenges them. They only want visual entertainment. Why else would they only regurgitate 5% of silent films when given the chance.

Can I get titles pls

cemetery of splendor
story of my death
nostalgia de la luz
to the wonder
cosmos (zulawski)
tangled
la cle des champs (2011)
finisterrae
shit year

>visual entertainment
>Ingmar Bergman

whatever, incel

>lists directors which aren't even on my 3x3
>reduces filmmakers like Syberberg and Sokurov to 'visual entertainment'

Pathetic

Thanks mate. I've been meaning to watch more films from this decade, so this should provide a nice selection.

I hope I'm not too pleb for this board.

I laughed really hard with the initial and final title cards, starting with a "Short audio visual essay of plastic lyricism" and ending with an "Endless". Being so pretentious in a world where Maya Deren masterfully crafted some of the best experimental filmmaking 10 YEARS before this is a ridiculous thing to do. If you thought Iñárritu had delusions of grandeur, you are yet to know José Val Del Omar.
But besides that...
even when he sold himself as pretty much an inventor of a new cinematic form (HE REALLY WASN'T) (LIKE...AT ALL) he was actually striking in many ways at the time (this being the earliest film of his "Tríptico Elemental de España"), using time lapses, flicker effects, color segments, etc. It is also because of that this one is his most overcrowded, overstuffed and irregular of his tryptich. While visually Del Omar is as bold as ever, his sound design and use of music is clearly his worst, surely thought to be experimental and cutting edge at the time, now tremendously dated and clunky (and I´m being generous here). And it worst sin, is that after getting to its natural conclusion around the 11 minute mark, the film goes on for 10 more minutes explaining everything just shown, showing how much a slave of his text Del Omar really was at the time, striving for poetry through words, making his visuals effectively meaningless. The pretentiousness of the initial presentation (and closure), which would continue on "Fire In Castilla", introduced by a poem by a poem by Federico García Lorca and naming itself as a "Free Cinegraphy" show how much great José Val Del Omar thought of himself as an artist. This work reveals how far Del Omar really was from the lyricism he thought he possessed. Maybe some people can find poetry in this, but it is simply too ostentatious and lacking any amount of subtlety and touch to be anywhere near that.

lol this is the only right way to reply to a post like that

If the movie is recognizable you're a pleb

>emphasizing dialogue in a visual medium
Boohoo, go cry somewhere else, middlebrow wank.
>Sokurov

Oh shit you're right, how about now?

>Zulawski

damn, nice taste bro
is that Зepкaлo?

>Epstein

...

>Tarkovsky

finisterrae, not finis terrae (1929)

No, but I'm sure you've never heard of it.

Looks like Tarkovsky and PTA both went to the Snyder school of subtlety

>>emphasizing dialogue in a visual medium
I'm glad you are revealing your plebeianism

why do people make these without names on the screenshots? like isn't the entire idea that you get to recommend movies that you haven't seen rather than to jerk yourself off to being vague?

because that would allow lurkers to actually find a movie to watch on this board, which is strictly forbidden

>It's 2 ghosts and they're in limbo! Do you get it??
You must have thought A Ghost Story was the best flick this year.

i haven't seen it, don't really like A24 "indie" type flicks

Oh yes, I'm certain you need everything spelled out to you verbally, brainlet.

>Recommend, discuss and laugh!

it's funny because none of those three things ever happen in these threads

But you love garbage

wouldn't say i do

yeah but at this point these things are just a handful of shitposters roleplaying as "patricians" completely defeating the point

>at this point these things
found the newfag

Oh look yellow shit marine.

yeah, fair enough, i got this picture saved from like 2014
just wishing things were different i guess

My nigga

Top chart is a meme
Bottom is
Knight of Cups
Inherent Vice
Inland Empire
Andrei Rublev
Voices Through Time
Upstream Color
Scarface
Othello
Zombi 2

>dialogue is only meant to move the film forward
>dialogue is only exposition
>dialogue isn't a natural ocurrance and just another part of reality that can be captured on film
finally I understand, you like the silent era so much because you've never talked to another person

befunky.com/features/collage-maker/

yes, I am retarded

bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php

Don't say that. Taste is subjective. Your opinion is as good as anyone else's.

Yes but some taste is more developed than others

bump

...

Those are like 3 of the top 100 post popular films of all time but I guess I can't blame you for liking them.
If you like 400 blows I recommend checking Philippe Garrel's filmography 1982 and onward. Similarly autobiographical.

Recommendies?

I think you'd enjoy the films of Wes Anderson.

Haven't been on Sup Forums for a while
taste is less generic than it used to be
i like you guys
