DIS

She is actually pretty FUCKING hot. Wish they had just let her swear instead of the fag too. Felt overdone once he said it.

He is a double dumbass.

I never said she wasnt hot, there is that nice photoshopped picture of her they released but it really looks nothing like her and she has no emotion.

She to me at least and tell me what you think shines when she is emoting or doing her thing acting.

Loca's name is Gabriel. Really makes you think. When will Raphael and and Uriel appear?

THICC IS A LIE

SHE'S FAT. LITERALLY FAT. WAKE UP SHEEPLE.

This fucking show.
It's weekly torture.

Fuck this show.

The characters said Fuck. It was a plot point.
FUCK THIS SHOW

do you think they went that far into it? far as what we know from what they told us they wanted a boys name just because they liked boys names for girls. thats what I think is in that same interview right?

does it break canon to have fat people currently serving in the federation? Scotty was kinda close I guess to her same physical build

I could shoop out the acne, but I dunno isnt that kind of her thing now? We kinda gotta embrace it, i would shoop it out if they cgi'd it out in the show, im actually shocked they didnt considering the heavy use of visual effects.

>She is actually pretty FUCKING hot

Geordie put your visor back on.

>Sonequa
every. fucking. time.

>I kind of felt like they really showed their personalities first in this episode (and other episodes), and then at the end it was like "oh they're also gay for each other."
Hmmm you think so? I got the feeling it came off like hey were gay for eachother out of the blue. Star Trek normally builds things up, I feel like in the trek way of storytelling they missed a great opportunity to build their characters and the relationship doing both at the same time. It comes off like a cheap porn where someone delivers pizza the way their doing it, it feels forced and less organic.

I hope she doesn't die some horrible fucked up death

If it was just Michael no. But since Lorca is Gabriel too it's really only a matter of time

Did you not notice how Stamets was constantly eyeing the doctor during the bit where Michael and the doctor come up to him?

I hope it happens next episode

That gunt is fucking hot.

So I assume the spy klingon that got her face burned is gonna be a big bad now yeah?

They better explain real well how the new crew member (that is obviously a Klingon spy) went from Klingon to human. I still get mad when I think about those episodes where like Troi was Romulan for a while.

oh so that top bump isnt acne, well good thing I didnt shoop it out then, some reason on the show and maybe its the lighting it looks like acne or maybe its a combo of the makeup and lighting?

I didn't think they would have the balls to have a gay, mouth dildoing scene in Star Trek. Very Progressive.

>fat
>double chin
>skin tone of a decaying corpse
>hair like orange barbed wire
>personality and mannerisms of an autistic shut-in

It's sad that human technology can't cure these things in the next few centuries.

Is this the first couple on a Star Trek series that's been established BEFORE the events of the series? Couples like Keiko/O'Brien and Worf/Jadzia and whatever were all established during the show itself.

>Ohhhh.... fucking shit!

>mouth dildoing

Time to keep this in mind any time someone brushes their teeth

See you next week

Who's the new member again?

Riker/Troi.

well, Sisko was married from the start :^)

HHHHNNNNGGG

...

Scotty/The Enterprise

>Did you not notice how Stamets was constantly eyeing the doctor during the bit where Michael and the doctor come up to him?
I didnt pick up on that, but at least that is something, I wish the show spent more time from day one building the character of the crew instead of this weird 2 ep pilot then the actual pilot later kind of thing we ended up with. There just isnt time to develop it so maybe that is the best they can do but dam at that point maybe they really should have left it out for the better. A black eye on star trek doesnt go away so quickly.

I mocked this up last night with a version 2 in mind putting STD in a heart but might skip that i dunno, or put I stand with STD. Dont know if that would maybe attract trolls though to the thread, i feel something like that might be better for social media but not say an OP image. This one felt right for OP without having to force anything but celebrating the moment at the same time.

Yeah, that's what I mean, Sisko loses his wife immediately and Troi and Riker had a previous relationship, but didn't when the show started.

Do you see bristles on those? Or do you see black, vibrating wands? Did they spit or rinse afterwards? No, they had their secondary boipuccis all warmed up for intergaylactic loving

Janeway/Mark

Phlox/his three wives

Archer/Portos

>Janeway/Mark

holy shit you're right, i forgot that completely forgettable dude

Can someone shoop a VISOR onto Lorca?

>I'm...a survivor
(Ominous music starts playing)

Bravo. Quality scene. How are the episodes getting worse? This is ridiculous.

murderface is that you?

youtube.com/watch?v=8BufGnHVYQA

Tilly is a spy right?

She's always sniffing around and questioning Michael and she only goes into autism mode when they're paying attention to her. Plus in the latest she was eagerly tryingto get into the "top secret" Daystrom database when Saru interrupted their work.

...

id need something workable i could give that a shot kinda tired atm. If you dont mind try screenshotting some lorca poses you think would work with a visor. closeups or distant I can always crop em to work.

are they both gay IRL or just the right guy? They made a big deal in promo material saying the right guy was a real life gay person. is it same for lefty?

Lieutenant Boytoy must be a Klingon spy otherwise the abduction plot would have been largely pointless. The writing of this portion of the episode feels actually a lot like the naive writing of 90s' Trek: We are in a scifi setting yet the people are held in normal prison cells and interogated in a fashion that wouldn't seem off in a series set today, or in WWII, or in pseudo-medieval fantasy. No brain scanners, no stasis-cells, nothing. Just oldfashioned BDSM interogation that even the CIA would find corny. And then they just escape. No hightech surveillance or forcefields just a good simple convenient escape. It only makes sense if it was on purpose and either Ash is an agent or Lorca was secretly brainwashed. Otherwise it's just stupid writing.

>he actually believes future military space people don't swear

Trekkers are legit hilarious

Does it matter?

Ah, don't have access to my rip atm, if you're on tonight I'll post some

...

trekkies want every detail weather it matters or not.

no worries if you see a /std/ thread Im usually there so feel free to post some up then and I will see what I can do user. Later works better, so tired here T_T

I mean, Takei is gay while he played a straight character, right?

>If it was just Michael no. But since Lorca is Gabriel too it's really only a matter of time
going back to this I could totally see that but I wonder in what capacity, and at the same time is that a sign of what the ultra never to be answered cliff hanger will be.

They can swear.
They shouldn't highlight it by making a big deal of swearing then doubling down on it like noone ever does it. and this was so awesome that only a swear could express it.

I think Takai could have pulled off playing a gay character, are you saying he couldnt? or whats going on there?

>That's fucking bullshit, cunt.

the characters also said
ELON MUSK!

Um, sweetie?

LGBT folks already struggle in mainstream hollywood as it is, we don't need straight folk taking all of the roles that we're supposed to be playing.

Straightwashing is unacceptable.

I just mean what the hell does it matter whether the actor's sexuality is IRL?

Ironic cancer is cancer. Fucking kill yourself.

ironic shitposting is still shitposting

>"monster with skin that's immune to phasers and claws that can rip through metal with ease"
>"welp since it's no longer our warp drive there's no need to make it comfortable for further study, guess we might as well chuck it"

Don't ever reply to me again you piece of shit

ok

wait shit

>I just mean what the hell does it matter whether the actor's sexuality is IRL?
it matters when the promo and press material pushed the right guy being gay on the show and IRL big time. That is why it matters because the show made it matter which is why these questions come up. I dont recall the show mentioning another gay character on the show also gay irl because they wanted to hide the love interest which many theorized prior to launch to be michael who is really a man since she was raised by vulcans ya know.

Do not speak to me or my son's wife ever again.

How much do they pay you to sit on the internet and defend ST:D?

Imagine actually thinking like this

Imagine being such a completely boring cunt that you feel you "need" to have gay people in your space show

Goddamnit I'm gay but I really, REALLY hate faggots

Why are they talking about the Daystrom Institute when Daystrom is probably only in his mid 30's at this point?

Obviously it's not IMPOSSIBLE that he already has a science academy named after him but it is fucking dumb.

Next time you go to reddit to screencap comments to get triggered over, stay there.

Both actors are gay. They announced well before the start of the show that both of their characters would be gay and in a relationship. Can you fucks move on now please?

/DIS/ -> Disney
/DSC/ -> Discovery Channel
/STD/ -> Star Trek Discovery

Get over it.

why arent they super hot lesbians? I mean if they want to appeal to a wide audience the lesbo angle would have covered more than 2 dudes bromancing.

>Both actors are gay. They announced well before the start of the show that both of their characters would be gay and in a relationship. Can you fucks move on now please?
source please, i was a rabid follower and if I missed this I would be surprised but if you gotta source on that I will check it out.

>Dax was cool but didn't fully count
>She's not the right kind of gay
How can they not see the hypocrisy in this?

Star Trek Voyager -> Voy
Star Trek Enterprise -> Ent
Star Trek Discovery -> Dis

Did anyone ever notice Daystrom is played by Blacula?

there is no singular convention so arguing over it is moot at best.

Autistic child prodigy.

I'm can't even be arsed to torrent Episode 5 I'm so bored with this show. Is it even worth it at this point? What's the good word, guys? Should I soldier on or give up?

You owe me for going back and actually finding this.

there was a mega few threads back I used to post them in OP but those got deleted i dont think that is allowed here.

an impromptu survey in the last thread indicates episode 5 didn't improve things

if you didn't enjoy it so far then don't bother. i'll probably watch a few more and try to stick it out to the end of the season - past trek shows had weak opening seasons too.

>Should I soldier on or give up?
>Should I soldier
>soldier

brofist!!!!

thanks user your hard work does not go un noticed!

Is this the interview you wanted? I dont see where it says either of them are gay at least in this one but it appears to be the first interview of Culber from what he says. Am i missing it?

>/DSC/ -> Discovery Channel

Lol no

Best episode so far but the bar is low

why do you hate the discovery channel!?!?!?

openloadseries.com/tv-shows/star-trek-discovery_5724/season-1/episode-5/

you lazy, blind piece of shit
>working with and loving someone you work with [Paul Stamets, played by Anthony Rapp]
Its ok, I forgive you.

It can only get worse from here. I know I'm giving up on it after this last episode. Literally a waste of my hour, I get nothing out of it.

wel that would be a twist i would not have any problem with.

>I'm a soldier, not a diplomat

-James Kirk

Also why the fuck wouldn't they be soldiers if they're at war?

See you next week

>>working with and loving someone you work with [Paul Stamets, played by Anthony Rapp]
I read that but i didnt know what to make of it.

Even when I read it now and I may have before I kind of read that as how actors often talk. I didnt make much of it. Its not even in the comments so I think they were still being coy at that time with the whole thing. But i see your point about it being hinted at while at the same time not yet specified which is probably them playing it safe which makes sense.

IIagree with this. It had to be the trekkiest episode, although the bar is incredibly low.
This episode had little black Mary-sue and development for all the rest of the crew of the ship.
it's almost as if they tacked on this "main" character for certain reasons.
Although, -1 for Mudd as a deplorable.
Serving in a starship isn't being a elite globalist.

But why is the show so expensive? The effects are nothing spectacular. The actors are blend the writers are the worst possible. How is this crap so damn expensive?

the word is 'zaftig'

Loads of top flight cgi, fuck tons of sets and a big cast.

The tardigrade alone must be ridiculous

>Nipple Clamps on a Tardigrade
