While I agree the minimum wage isn't helpful (I'm just using it as a ruler, not a moral law) and America would be far better off if we could hire people openly for the appropriate free market value of their labor, here's a free redpill for ya.
The price of most products is mostly about the transportation cost, especially the diesel fuel required to transport it, and the way that the transportation industry is experiencing great difficulties with dwindling human capital. Minimum wage certainly figures into, say, the prices at McDonalds, though.

Mike Rowe is a piece of shit. He works one day, ONE FUCKING DAY, at these dead end jobs. The worst job i hear he ever worked at was a rendering job. I worked poultry rendering for 2 years. I worked waste water at first, was fine, great job, $13 an hour to sleep for 4 hours a night, I went to production to increase pay, I then had to put live chickens into buckets, pour gasoline on them and set them on fire, I never did that and never will. I bet he didn't show that in his tv show though. Literally hand me a knife and I'll cut the fuckers head off, we can cook it and eat it, but fucking putting it into a bucket with 10 other chickens, why?! Pretty sure it was illegal as fuck.

I worked hard, I nearly got me fired (constructive dismissal) because I was an easy target they wanted to get rid of because they had too many people. I was the top worker in my team for months on end as well.
They thought my attitude towards good work ethic meant I was a bitch scared of getting in trouble, so were calling my into the office each and every day over minor things they'd never dare to call everyone else in.
Even went out of their way to prevent me having a union rep.

No, they literally were informing people they might "need to reduce headcount", re-set targets higher than could be reasonably expected, stopping me from having a union rep and called me in over health and safety issues (apparently 30 seconds is too long to spend wrapping a pallet to prevent stock falling on peoples heads).
There was also legit sexual harassment, the fact I had no issues at the company until then, and the fact that they've recently forced one of the managers to step down after I and other colleagues threatened to sue them for infringing our rights.
Quite frankly, corporations are all fucking dodgy, corrupt and break the law all the time. They get hard work when they deserve it - otherwise, fuck them.
