How good is The Good the Bad and the Weird and Mother? They keep popping up on recommended films I should watch when I watch other Korean films.
Both are acceptable but I doubt Netflix has (m)any available North Korean movies.
None. Korean movies are melodramatic garbage.

I'm not sure if your assessment of notable Korean screenwriter, director, and producer Park Chan-wook is accurate, but I found his 2016 film "The Handmaiden" to be an enjoyable film and feel as though it possessed a great deal of artistic merit.
The Handmaiden and Train to Busan are great!!!FACT!!!
