This show was never funny to me
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Futurama. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Farnsworth's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Futurama truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Farnsworth's existential catchphrase "Good news, everybody,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Matt Groening’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them

It's a dumb show with pop science, it's really not much different than BBT
The humor hasn't aged well. It's basically 90s sitcom in space.
this is information the internet needs
It was funny at the time, but like most future set shows, it shows it's age very quickly.
The iphone episode was ridiculous.
>the iphone episode
Well there’s your problem. Every single episode from the Comedy Central seasons was garbage. But seasons 1-what? 6? Are perfect comfy background noise
i love both shows and this is great
The iPhone episode is trash like all post S4 episodes.
not sure when the movies came out, but they were all pretty good. i'm watching s6 at the moment, its still holding up well. maybe s7 is where the show drops in quality.
It was always really hit and miss with me given the lack of real character consistencies. Jokes thrown around not because a character would actually say that joke, but because the writers thought it was funny. For instance:
>Leela: OK, OK. We're not gonna force you until I finish this sentence. Get him!
so? dont ask me to try and step inside the mind of someone who would make a thread about a show he didn't find funny. It's a waste of my good time
No shows are funny to me. Maybe it's my sense of humor, which I don't think is particularly unconventional, or maybe it's because I'm bitter and depressed, but all these supposedly funny shows do nothing for me.
>this coming from people that find endless "sneed", bane and any meme repetition funny
I like it
...
I wanted to fuck Leela so hard
Same, but I somehow enjoyed, nevertheless.
how is that inconsistent with leela? shes a bossy know it all who puts on a half ass performance of maturity and control
>I have an announcement, those who have a weak heart must leave the room
>*only he leaves the room*
Yeah man, have you recent some of most recent Simpsons episode? Really don't get why people like that show so much here...
not nearly enough amy in this thread
Leela is cute when taken down a peg
Had a laugh just by remembering this. Maybe I should rewatch this sometime.
>tfw no cylop gf
No Curb, No American Vandal, Older South park, Eastbound and Down, Louie?
Still better than nu-simpsons
I'll show ye....
