Just finished Boardwalk Empire. Why isn't this show talked about more? I thought it was amazing.

bump for Nuck
Snorewalk Empire starring le toadman that appears in everything
Shit sucks man.
>it's an over-budgeted HBO drama where the first episode is directed by memesese episode
The most forgettable bullshit.
S1 was half decent after that? Pure shite
It's visually gorgeous but beyond boring. On top of that, you never really cared about any of the characters.
Last 30 seconds ruined pretty much the entire show.
it faltered in the final season, they had to jump cut with the story and do a "several years from now" bullshit because they didnt have the budget or fucks to cover what is arguably the most interesting time period and events
also it could be boring, if you dont like period pieces then well over half of it isnt gangster shit like the sopranos or even dead wood and that drags for some people
agreed, like suits and other shows that depict highsociety life are just visuals with weak casts
Yeah, I was a little disappointed by the time skip. But there is plenty of film and television detailing the rise of Al Capone already.
>agreed, like suits and other shows that depict highsociety life are just visuals with weak casts
imo boardwalk had a very strong cast, though I can agree that suits is garbage.
because it peaked with michael pitt
>rothstein's death only mentioned is passing
unacceptable
always felt like the fight between jimmy and nucky was the best conflict in the series, too bad it happened so early
This
I stopped in season 4 because it was boring as fuck.
For me S3 was the best, and Gyp Rosetti was the best character in the show
I honestly fucking loved Michael Shannon's character. I think he was probably the best character in the show. Nucky's brother Eli was also really good. Rothstein was great too.
I dunno I enjoyed most of the characters and cared about them, Nucky I honestly couldn't give 2 shits about.
Van Alden hands down had the best character and arc in the show though.
Thanks to this thread I'm probably going to rewatch now after I finish s2 of Mr Robot again.
>barney google with the goo goo googly eyes
this was upsetting. His character was so hard to read, I wanted to see him broken down more
I loved watching Shannon's character slowly being corrupted
The entire time I was watching this, I was thinking about how I'd rather be watching the Sopranos or Mad Men.
Best character ever, coming through...
his death was beautifully done. He was one of the few morally redeemable characters.
Gyp Rosetti was a good rival gangster always enjoyed he's scenes.
