>transformers expectation vs reality

did people seriously think it would be an actual robot battle?

i knew it wouldn't happen from day 1

>no shonen pilots

Waste of time

Who won though?

So it's normal TV then?

The next time they do this the robots need to be remotely piloted and equipped with modern weapons.

Jap Bot, the 2nd "match" had the American robot at twice the weight.

>*Breathes in*

AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA

>transformers
i just wanted 2 robots fighting in a field with people cheering for their teams, live
instead i got a shed in the middle of knowhere, a spaztic editor cycling through cameras angles, a bunch of cringey hosts who wouldn't shut up, and fucking paintballs

New Pacrim looks good

LARIATO!!!!!!!!

>america in the 21st century

>a fucking watermelon sized paintball
>yea that'll win us the match

what is this shit

Superior Japanese steel.

why didn't he just move out of the way?

Wtf am I watching

I think it was "realish", in that they legit couldn't kill each other, and the American guys got way to much money for their robot.

I don't think the entire thing was staged, they said in the Q&A is was actually filmed over 3 days because of technical problems taking 2-3 hours to repair.

Not really sure what I was expecting. I feel it was more like a promotional video to get that kind of sport started, but realistically, it's too dangerous. They would have to be remote.

>Superior Japanese steel
>he fell for the meme
Kek

>last match
>USA rips out the metal lighting scaffolding and rotates it, fast
>HOLY SHIT SOMETHING COOL MIGHT BE HAPPENING
>no wait he's using it to "block" the paintball machinegun bullets that are doing literally nothing
>drops it within 10 seconds
Why script something when you just make it boring?

He's on treads, turning and moving away would have been pretty slow, the jap robot is way more maneuverable.

Not like they could spear the other robot or something, might kill the pilot.

It was a neat proof of concept and all my engineer friends can't stop jerking off over the technical aspects of it. As far as actually watchable tv it was shit though

he was the one memeing dumb dumb

QUICK
A JAPANESE MECHA IS BARRELING TOWARDS YOU AT RIDDICULOUS SPEEDS OF 4MPH, ABOUT TO PUSH YOUR SHIT RIGHT IN WITH HIS 20 TON IRON FIST
WHAT DO YOU DO
>a. Shift into reverse and turn in any direction to get out of the way
>b. aim and shoot your stupid worthless paintball gun

>We have purposefully trained him wrong as a joke

EIN..!..ZWEI!..DREI!...ENDEE!!

It's scripted for safety. I mean if they're both charging at each other and a collision happens it could be bad.

>AAAA STOP HITTING ME WITH YOUR PAINTBALLS
this should have just been a fist fight
no grappling, no cucked """"guns""""
just punches to see who fucks up the most shit

people were expecting an actual fight, not scripted trash

it felt like watching two cars crash each other.

It was just them ramming each other

It was scripted

>two cars crash each other
this would be cooler since there's actual speed and bits and pieces fly off along with quite a lot of visual damage because of crumple zones

fine two slow cars crashing each other.

But yah would been more interesting,a slowmo

But could either of them beat my main bot Razer?
Flipperbots are shit and made for boring fights.

>people were expecting an actual fight
Idiots maybe, with human pilots and million dollar machines no one wants to have a serious battle. Someone could get killed and the machine could be damage beyond repair. A scripted fight using painballs and flaccid weapons to do superficial damage is the only way this shit will ever happen.

If you want them to actually destroy eachother you'd need to go unmanned so no one fucking dies.

nothing can beat the chad razer. It is peak, robotic perfection.

i was expecting a arm minimum torn off. This why it will be shit people want real damage.

>protype vs jap with mod car
>tips it over
>fight 2, just meme sheild, and slow chain saw.

where can i watch the fight?

Watch the final round. Japs got Chainsawed by Eagle Prime.

>ONE PUUUUUUUUUNCH!

>Japs got Chainsawed by Eagle Prime.
Anyone got a webm?

...

How do the nips feel about this? Are they as pissed off about it being shit as we are?

i'd be surprised if they actually gave a shit the only asains i saw in the crows in the pre-show vids were old people probably just there out of boredom

...

Scripted as fuck. Holy shit its bad.

So is this like the only mildly entertaining thing that happened?

Yeah, live Vietnam. Dumb Fatmerican.

What country are you from user? Does it make robots? Wanna fight?

why was battlebots more exciting than this?

Why give the US bot fucking legs if it's on treads? It only makes it easier to knock over.

>no! please don't spill my paintballs

>find their reddit page to see how the people who paid money for this feel like
>its a fucking shitshow
It was worth it for this
reddit.com/r/megabots/

did wwe direct this?

I mean the whole fight was WWE. That's what they want to do with this thing anyway.

>according to their kickstarter update from last week, this whole thing was recorded over the span of several weeks back in september.

Awful, just....awful.

>several weeks
>couldn't get their comically awful paintball canon to work properly
