Why doesn't he act?
Why doesn't he act?
He can, Drive just typecasted him.
>He can
Proof?
>inb4 the nice guys
He has the physicality of a good actor. The looks, the facial expressions, body language, etc... but this fucker can't act. It's why he was perfect in Drive.
No, he can't. He wasn't typecasted in La La Land as a autismo robot but I guess he thought he was. Emma Stone carried that film.
acting? aren't you promoting a kind of dishonesty in filmmaking
He only knows how to act one particular way (i.e. autistic.)
He's a one-trick pony.
He's an elitist hipster in La La Land, not a deer in headlights autist that barely speaks like in Drive/OGF/2049. Also how high are you? The scene with Emma Stone singing is the worst part of that movie.
Now that I think about it he kind of ruined the film for me.
All along the way I didn't see K or Joe, just Ryan Gosling.
Even half dead fucking Harrison Ford did a better job.
what's that shiort he's wearing
That's what I'm saying, his character is supposed to be this artsy fartsy jazz cunt but he still comes off as a robot.
Are you high? Which scene with Emma Stone singing? Literally half the fucking movie?
youtube.com
This one, although I should have clarified. Also the "WE'RE SPLITTING UP JUST TO MOVE THE PLOT FORWARD" dinner scene was pretty bad too
He can you're just watching the wrong movies.
he was great in bladerunner so here's a (you)
La La Land fucking sucked
I thought he was good in gangster squad and nice guys. He was just typecast as the miserable, bumshit down on his luck loser.
Plebs.
I'd like to say that's fitting for a replicant. But really, that's completely nullified by Rutger Howard's character in Blade Runner, granted they're different personalities but I'd have liked it more if he showed more emotion towards the end, not even by facial expression, just in the way he talked or his thought process (though this did kind of change via his arc)
He does act
Watch the Nice guys, Fracture, Believer
Its just after Driver he got himself an autistic typecast
*hauer
whoops
He was good in this.

>I didn't go to acting school, I went to act.
>Past Education:
> School of Hard Knocks
> University of Life
he made a living by systematically hunting and killing his own kind, being hated by them and seen as an object by humans. How do you expect him not to be a introverted and quiet?
And his demeanor did change by the end, pic related
The goose can act. The people saying that he only plays one character haven't seen all his movies.
What movie does he show a range of emotions?
...
...
...he drives
...
>I'll never have rice
just end it
Why does the girl look at him like that?
Half Nelson is my fav goose movie.
She's probably looking at ryan because it's awkward to stare into space during an interview, and remembering some funny antics he did on set, and that made her smile. You guys are reading way too much into it.
>how do we make our shit scene exciting?
>just make them swear every 3 seconds
genuis!
Thanks, will get back to you if this thread is still up
Not-an-arguments.
He's a decent actor. I actually liked him in the big short.
He just nailed Drive so well that he is forever 'full autismo'
>Harrison Ford couldn't act in the original
>Goose can't act in the remake
At least theres consistency
>perfect loving hologram 10/10 qt gf an arms length away in danger
>lol ill let her get smashed
wdhmbt?
Song to Song. If Malick thinks you're good enough, you're good enough.
>Harrison Ford couldn't act in the original
Nice meme. Why do you plebs regurgitate this like it's fact?
>isn't making 50 faces a minute to tell the audience how they must feel every second of the film
>not acting
He plated it perfectly, reserved just how like Deckard should be.
came here to post half nelson too, one of his best
>Past Education:
>odd jobs here and there
this, he was great in that movie
He wanted some Luv
>Why doesn't he act?
his character is a robot, you ignoramus
ongurry a cute
(not in that pic tho)

He can't just like Emma Stone.
He actually shows a wide range even if you have only seen his most recent ones like the nice guys and blade runner.
But he was incredibly emotive in his facial and body language in Blade Runner though. He was very subtle but it was a hell of a lot more emotive than Drive.
>"waaaaaaaaah acting is when actors recite lines in an emotionally over the top way waaaaaaaaah who cares about subtlety. body language and being truthful to the character waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"
the Kuleshov Effect, he doesn't need to emote much
pls dont
He's actually pretty great in this movie. As his character goes from a hollow shell to something resembling a person, he begins to become more and more emotive. In the second baseline test you can really see some great subtleties in his facial acting.
I think he might have actual autism
Good video
Girls look that way at guys they like. I wish a girl would look at me like that
I love the goose so much
The baseline test scenes and the interview of the memory maker were examples of incredible acting. You're nuts.
He was great in BR2049.
The blank-faced "half-smile" he puts on throughout most of it. To me it really worked. Like K was constantly holding himself back, a bunch of emotions and expressions hidden beneath the surface, and in the scene where he finds out he might be a 'real boy' he looses his composure and begins autistically screaming.
incorrect. you can see her breathing speeds up
>a bunch of emotions and expressions beneath the surface
but there obviously aren't any emotions, he's being totally passive not restrained.
I didn't expect this image to make me tear up just now, but it did. Fuck.
...
>he's being totally passive not restrained.
In the start he is, and in front of his superiors he is, but with his holo waifu, and obviously later in the movie, it's clear he has emotions, needs and wants.
>I always told you you were special.
>You were needed
>You were loved.
These are things he's been wishing for before the movie took place.
Did nobody see his face when he was learning he might be half human? That's when I connected with his character.
>The Nice Guys
Fuck you! Offering garbage to your pals... Motherfucker!
what the fuck happened there?
the LSD hit
MORE ACTING is Good Acting: The Thread
Crash Bandicoot idle animations
>Proof?
Nice Guys or any other movie where Gosling dosnt play a silent character and talks a lot instead.
Lars and the real girl
Man, he is starting to look old.
Yes, that's exactly the kind of thing Gosling is good at.
Is Emmas Stone new Jennifer Lawrence?
Isn't he married to Eva Longoria?
eva mendes
She loves him
No she adores him
Crazy, Stupid, Love. hes the ulitmate Chad there
I like Goose just because he's relatable to us mild autists. And he seems like the chillest, humble dude irl. He also has great taste in clothes and watches.
Don't see anything wrong with that. Gives hope that even if you're mild autist or introverted you can still be cool as fuk
Big Short
No, Drive just cast him. He couldn't act before and still can't act.
He was petty good in BR2049. My favourite performance of his is in pic related.
> MORE ACTING is Good Acting: The Thread
>he didn't watch Nice guys
Quick! Post your rare geese
Goose was really good in this film too. The Believer
How does he do it
the big short
There's Something inside you, it's hard to explain
They're talking about you, Boy, but you're still the same
That's too many cokes.
