etc, you can look up the entire list yourselves.
Marvel's last movie, Doctor Strange, made $231,292,720 in just the US. A total of $659,237,554 if you include international. It was released into 3,882 theaters over the course of 11 weeks to get those numbers.
One movie from Marvel makes way more then one comic, and will have a massively larger audience. Comic readership is counted in the hundreds of thousands; movie viewership is counted by the tens of millions. Hell even the Star Wars comics barely even get to 100k while the movies are seen by almost everyone with access to civilization.
In order to make trigger scent arcs bearable, just mentally replace "trigger" with "nigger" and it instantly becomes hilarious.

There's something about how comics' used to be a long-time commitment (and demanding consistent effort to stay on-topic) whereas movies not so much.
With the bullshit "universes" it might be shifting, but will never be like how the comics' are.
Also, there's the perspective of how each medium is perceived by the general public. Movies are entertainment suited for everybody and comics' are very much still trivialized. The "advent" of "nerd culture" (it hitting mainstream) made it acceptable for general, uneducated (in the topic of said entertainment) audience to go to and enjoy comic book movies, but that would never mean the same audiences getting to read comic books. If anything, it would mean the opposite because why would they waste time getting into this shit, when they have everything nicely lied down on a silver screen platter?

You've just hit the nail on the head as to why the Wolverine book isn't doing anything for me. I mean, objectively, it is better than books like Extraordinary and All-New, but unlike those books, I don't feel angry or annoyed or anything of the sort when I finish. I mainly just feel mildly entertained. Like I watched something like old-school Simpsons. It isn't a bad one, just not one I think a book Laura is should contain.
I mean, I don't mind happy stories because Laura needs some good stuff in her life. I just wished that they touched on some of the darker stuff that her earlier works did. The whole 'being human stuff' which could be both hilarious and depressing. I also would like it if the New X-Men guest starred in her book because it has been too fucking long and I want them back goddamn. But, my rage at losing one of the best teen teams for the O5 and Champions aside, I just wish that this felt like a Laura book. Because aside from the last few issues, it hasn't really. Though I am not sure how much of that can be blamed on Bendis and Hopeless, rather than Taylor.

X-23 stories have always been pretty emotional. Inbetween despair, disgusting violence, utter emotional turmoil and the struggle to overcome all of this, you also found the occasional bits of fun or very dry humour that keep you attached to the character.
This is the stuff that hooks you in.
Laura shouldn't just be fighting against captivity or for her life. As a reader, we know she's gonna make it. Instead, she should be fighting for the life she's built herself. She should be fighting for those around her and her own soul.
A writer should threaten everything she's achived so far. That's the actually engaging part.
Taylor just fails to deliver this, mainly, because he has never actually delved into that darkness. I don't believe that anything he writes could actually carry consequences.
Laura getting turned into a mindless killing machine again by Kimura should feel terrible for what it means for her mental health, her relation to her friends and family and so on and so forth. But I just can't buy that from Taylor because he wouldn't want to deal with any of that. I don't have the impression that he'd go there.

Pretty much this. If I was lucky enough to write Laura's solo, I would dive into her mind and try to show how she thinks and the difference between that and how she talks.
For example, I would run with Hopeless' explanation about why Laura talks like she's a regular girl now, but try to make it something a bit better. Do something like say that Laura was so afraid of being rejected that she felt that if she put on the mask of what has now become 'The All-New Wolverine', she'd escape her past. The whole charging headfirst, ask questions later would be her trying to go against her programming and doing what she saw people like Logan doing all the time.
The whole point of her book would be Laura realizing that she can't escape it. She did what she did and she is the person she is. However, one of the things I would show is that she isn't alone and their were people who would help her. For example, I'd have her team up with AA and New X-Men kids by accident. Kind of coincidental team up with Laura feeling desperately awkward and wanting to get away.
Hell, in a facility arc like the one currently occurring, the New X-Men would be the ones to save Laura instead of Gambit and Gabby.
Basically, my hypothetical run would be my attempt to try and turn Laura into what Claremont's Wolverine was while keeping true to her original characterization. A loner who has a dark past that is slowly coming out their shell and is benefiting from it.
I don't think that's the case with Emma at all. She tries to be good, she really does. Especially after M-Day when she realized how screwed the X-Men were. However, Emma is mentally fucked up just about as much as Laura is.
The whole act with Kimura actually felt very fitting, because at that point, you realized just how much Emma cared for the kids. Before and after this, the Hellions' and Emma's relationship had all but disintegrated.
Julian felt like she had abandoned him, Mercury didn't think that Emma cared about anyone anymore and Santo... was Santo. The point was that in the New X-Men run, Emma's protective side was fully brought out. You saw just how much she cared about the kids under her care.
To her, Kimura deserved the worse punishment possible for hurting Laura, Julian and Cess. Because it seems that she cared more for them than she did for pragmatism. As for her encounter with Shaw, it seemed like Emma was fighting her every urge to kill him for what he had done.
After this shit run I'd just like to see Laura back with x-force with the explanation that her social gig wasn't really working out and she wanted to spend some time in an environment she feels natural in.
It depends on the way it's done. I'd say that if something like that was written it would have to be seen as positive that Laura is trying to be true to herself but negative if the team was a kill squad as it would just increase her psychological issues. I mean it can be a good story but it shouldn't be written so that it seems all Laura works as is a killing machine.
