whats the point of anything really when u think about it

>characters of certain era are put in untypical situations

it was fucked up how they saw the blind limbless women and just left them instead of putting them out of their misery

I can understand the limbless part but what was the point of blinding them?

So that they couldn't see.

Self identifying with the troglodytes I see. Take your obvious self loathing elsewhere.

I bet you made the Brawl in Cell Block 99 thread too

>troglodytes
Why do people use this insult on Sup Forums? Are you all philosophers or some shit?

she was pregnant and this gave me a new fetish. tfw no monster indians to turn me into baby factory ;_;

Troglodyte literally describes what they were. Are you stupid?

It's really creepy reading this post and knowing that a man wrote it and has fantasies of being impregnated by other men.

Did you watch the movie?

^^^^didn't watch the movie

Zahler's next project is called "Dragged Across Concrete." Dude seems to really like ugly, pointless movies.

Apparently he wrote a lot of books too. I wonder if they are also just meaningless ugliness and sadism that nobody can understand the point of.

These two were raised by single mothers, and never became men.

Just read this and don't understand the point of it. This is just meaningless ugliness and sadism.

lol this bitch hasn't even seen hobo with a shotgun and he's talkin shit

Zahler will forever be associated with Ugly, Pointless Filmmaking.

Stop samefagging holy shit

t. ugly and pointless poster

t. meaningless sadism poster

Fuck off. One of the best films in the genre in recent years.

Then why can I never get Sup Forums to have any threads about it without shitposting pretending I hate it? I've tried about ten times and this is the first one that has actually went anywhere.

>went anywhere.
I'm pretty sure every post in this thread is memeing except for the ones talking about the blinded, pregnant woman. And that conversation died asap. I'm pretty sure this thread is just meaningless ugliness and sadism.

Is this another one of those forced memes that nobody will remember in 2 weeks?

do you have a smaller than average penis?

seems to be the only way you'd ask such a question, faggot

Only those lacking in cock size need to watch sadistic violent trash to feel like a man

Yeah, why weren't they on twitter all day instead, talking about social justice?
Defending m'lady's honor and not actually saving actual women from terrible fates.

What the fuck? No it's not, it's a bad movie that keeps getting spammed

It's just a normal Western movie. They can't have Indians be savages anymore so they just call them Troglodytes. They can't just have them scalp people because that's not shocking enough so they cut them in half.

This movie was pretty good. Kurt Russell is a cool guy who doesn’t afraid of anything.

>its just a normal western
WRONG. It's a shitty slasher that takes place during the day
Right about the rest though.

Worst post of the day.

It's fun with how it twists the good ol' western on its head and makes it about a bunch of guys in over their heads facing down a tribe of cannibals. Would have fit in nicely in the '70s.

Fucking hate retards like you who feel like everything needs some big take away or meaning. Why can't a movie just be entertaining? It had a couple of interesting ideas and that was enough. Gore was very solid, especially in the end. Characters were interesting enough. Boom, solid film. But no, because it wasn't a commentary on some bullshit it gets a thumbs down from you. Blow it out of your ass.

you gonna keep posting this in every thread?
lol little bitch faggot

It's a western themed horror film. The point is all in the journey.

> 2m budget.
> 21 days to film.

Damn it sure doesn't look like it.

Is this another post by an ugly sadist?

It wasn't a "normal Western", it was a western where the protagonists were just regular people with regular weaknesses instead of invincible badasses who can save the day all of their own. Not exactly a new thing to do, but rare enough to make it notable.

It was about civilization vs primitive beastly man. There is evil in this world beyond our understanding, we as humans are capable of it and the only thing keeping us from this evil is our ability to create civilization and protect each other. That's why fire is such a huge symbol in this movie, remember the scene where the two mexicans are approaching the camp and they light two tiny matches to show that they are friendly?

pointless, meaningless post

I hated Lili Simmons' character in the film. Bunch of guys sacrifice their lives to come rescue her worthless ass and she's chastising them about it.

I don't understand.

IIRC the main thing she was mad about is that they brought her gimped husband along, which really would have been a terrible idea if he hadn't ended up lucking out and saving them all. I haven't decided if it should bother me that he did more on his own with a bum leg than the other three did put together.

i thought the ending was gonna be a lot more soul crushing, threw me off when he came back and rescued them

There are several take-aways from this film. I won't go into the symbolism that is up for interpretation or anything like that but stick to the core themes of the film.

The first is duty, motivation, and capacity. The Trogs go after the Bandit dudes for religious reasons them ruining their sacred site. The wife goes to treat the guy because that's her duty as a medical professional. The husband goes after his wife despite his handicap because of love. The Sheriff goes after it because it's his duty as a peacekeeper- which contrasts his duty to his love and her protests. Jack from Lost does it because his duty to avenge his family and his capacity as an Indian killer.

I'm pretty done trying to analyze this movie now that I begun typing it out so I'll just end with the other motif of reassurance through white lies. Like the flea circus lie that the wife tells the old guy and how they were saying the calvary was coming when the guy was getting fucked up.

I wouldn't mind if you went into the symbolism. It's nice to see people willing to talk about movies instead of just posting RT scores and calling everyone a cuck.

Four doomed men ride out.

...

Gee thank you for posting this on a blue board.

Well first off symbolism is tricky because whether or not it's intended by the writers or directors certain elements can be viewed as symbolic - which is always up for interpretation.

My interpretation on a variety of symbols in the movie:

Trog Bone Weapons/Instruments - these represent the base, primitive cultures and rituals of uncivilized peoples and customs. Often times these get wrapped up by ethnocentrism or western cultures - hence the Indian Professor getting offended by being lumped in with the troglodytes. I feel like these relics represent these beliefs and how that they can be used to damage modern civilization - with the bone tomahawks hurting and killing the people with Winchester repeaters. It is only through the combination of intelligence and utilization of these ancient culture's techniques (the bone voice whistle thing) is our hero is able to beat his foes.

There is obviously the cynicism involved with such imagery as the Cross - where jack from lost just shoots the people at the camp and how the old guy says he had a Cross. How the true intentions or spirit of people are unknown and that sometimes harsh measures are required to even those that may portray good intent. Jack's immediate response is based on his past experience, and when they are stabbed and robbed later that just solidifies his experience. But were they the same group? Don't know. Which is a topic for discussion.

Then there's the flask and the leg and the German telescope which I'm out of room to write about.

>those phantom tomahawk strikes

Looks so fucking bad, why did they not do this better?

The flask I guess to me represents the dangers of alcohol and substance use. That through the sheer (faked) enjoyment of its content caused the trog to die of poisoning - and to me shows the dangers that even though others may be experiencing fun and having a good time doing things you're not fully aware of - to be cautious about what you're getting into. Now, eventually that flask gets heated up and put into the side of the Kurt - which could possibly portray the long-term effects of those that have fun too (liver damage, chronic pain). And throw in overmedication and misuses of medicine in the mix too.

The leg obviously had real effects in the movie and provided an obstacle. However, it also to me represents that despite certain circumstances of dumb-misfortunes and in this case physical set-backs, other and more tragic things can happen and you have to "buck-up" and push through your discomfort to deal with the larger issues at hand.

Humans are very visual creatures by nature. So whenever eyes or vision or instruments that improve or impair vision occur these are very interesting to note. Also we are very obsessed with food which represents communion - which is why the choice of food the trogs ate (people) is unsettling and why Kurt and his wife were talking about his duty to save the people were packing cheese and food and supplies. But back to vision - the preggo trogs were blinded with wooden sticks and the team used the German periodically. The German to me represented the marvels of modern day invention and technology - but despite having the equipment of sight the primitive cultures were able to hurt and kill our team through their use of basic sound and basic communication. You can draw allegories to modern day American tech versus inexpensive IEDs or something similar.

Anyways i've only seen this movie once a while back but those are the things that I remember and that stuck out to me and my interpretation of them.

They shot it in less than a month on a $2 million dollar budget.

Nothing you can do abut it. It's always the sound that sells a hit.
Watch a Daredevil hallway scene on mute and you get the same feeling, despite the high production value

Kind of delivered the message though. Be smart, not stupid.

Grow up, you faggot.

Wow. Not sure what else to say but thanks for putting so much effort into this.

Agreed. It's bullshit that this board doesn't have sound webms when sound is such an important part of film. And the "but people would do screamers" argument is bullshit too, default it to mute and ban the people who abuse having sound webms. Only reason they don't have sound webms is because it would require them do actually moderate this piece of shit board.

If anything the one who needs to grow up is you, the anarchist child who has no respect for the rules of this website, and society by proxy.

the new vincre vaighn movie wasnt as good as this but hopefully the new gibson movie will be

It's not nearly as rewatchable. Bone Tomahawk almost demands a second watch with the intriguing troglodytes.

>anarchist

Wrong, Cocksucker. I follow the most important rules there is. They're called "common sense". You should know better not to browse Sup Forums if you're so worried about making a faux pas in public. Retard.

...

>rules

thats not NSFW webm. its a webm from a fake movie posted on a movie image board. fuck off retard

It's really not possible to be a sfw board since anyone can post anything at any given time. Anyone willing to risk their job over it deserves it.

Are you a woman by any chance?

dis real?

It's a clip of the movie this thread is discussing. Why are you even on Sup Forums at work anyways? People post BLACKED shit and porn all the time on this thing - even on "blue boards" like Sup Forums and /fit/ - you're a fool for thinking that thinking this board's "color" would stop anyone from posting anything- especially when it's germane to the topic.

Well...you're not wrong.

it's not a slasher movie at all.

>Say goodbye to my wife, I'll say hello to yours.

Do you happen to be a female?

Go watch your kiddie western Tombstone, faggot.

>old deputy mentions how he could never kill a woman or child
>sees blind pregnant trogs
>doesn't kill them
Guess they will die anyway. Should have put them out of their misery

>wahhh i saw something icky on Sup Forums
you have to go back

I hate when people have to piss on a good movie just because somebody didn't like theirs, childish as hell. Imagine if you could like both for different reasons.

Just watched this and don't understand the point of it. This is just meaningless ugliness and sadism.

HAHAH this nigger is offended

I liked this movie, but holy shit it was gory.
Fun watch though

Here's your (you). now fuck back off to reddit

>kikefix doesn't have it

The western aspect was much more interesting than the horror.

It's a story of a man's faith in God and his answered prayers. Try watching it again when you're older, sweetie.

This especially the last sentence

>on his own
But he wasn't on his own. Did you watch the movie? God was with him the whole time

Not my fetish but I can sympathize. Most of my sex fantasies involve me being a female. No, not a trans, not even a little, but for some reason the idea of being a female and getting fucked gets me off. It's weird. I didn't ask for it, but whatever. Also I'm a furry.

>i thought the ending was gonna be a lot more soul crushing,
More soul crushing that a guy with a compound fracture, an old man with severe head trauma, and a woman who's been trapped in a rape cage for days, on foot, several days ride to the nearest civilization, in an area crawling with banditos, with no food or supplies?
It's only a "happy ending" in the sense that they weren't all butchered and eaten and the woman turned into a mindless womb with no purpose but agony for the rest of her life constantly pumping out the next generation of fucking cave monsters.

>films women will never understand

youtu.be/O9soTwvBhq0

Because Sup Forums knows fuck all about kino film, as evident by the constant capeshit worshipping.
