Dragon Ball is objectively better unless you suffer autism and actually enjoy power levels over good-hearted adventure.

Z, after Dragon Ball seeing older Goku with a son, Piccolo becoming an anti-hero, other Saiyans coming to Earth, and just the general ramping up of the power levels was all so exciting. Of course it should have ended after Frieza, or at most Cell, but the Buu saga still had good content. Fat Buu being the best of it,

Dragonball's writing was more consistent and characters were more developed and relevant through the series than DBZ but I think DBZ had higher peaks and hype moments in the series than Dragonball. From an objective standpoint, Dragonball is probably better, but DBZ is my first love.

If you watched it start to end you'd more likely see through the meme that it's the better series. I do love DB but the bast majority of it was straight bring and often literally put me to sleep.
