Is this the greatest movie about making a movie ever made?

Close, but that would be The Player (1992)

Is this the greatest movie ever made?*

ftfy

You mean specifically documentary or other actual movies? Because that's kind of Apples and oranges

sure.

This movie is so comfy.

I never understood the love for this movie. It just made me depressed. It's like a real life Gummo.

Watching American Movie at 17:

>Ha this fucking loser sucks maybe when I'm a famous director I'll give him a cameo in one of my movies so he can feel special.

Watching American Movie at 29:

>At least he kept trying.

YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH !!!

>he mispronounces the name of his own movie the entire time.

Fucking Co-vin.

yes. it is. btw mark borchardt is even weirder than you think. he currently runs a radio show in milwaukee that almost no one listens to except me. also he is very pretentious: his response to "what films are you seeing?" is "not the ones you are seeing." i simultaneously feel bad for him and cringe for him.

still, i can't turn away. one day i'll write a book about his life.

Nah man coven sounds like oven and that just doesn't work

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to listen to all these while I'm sitting in a hunting blind.

yeah its extremely comfy. mostly him whinging for 15 minutes about how everyone else in the world is an idiot except him, then gabe talks about movies for 10 minutes, then they trade monologues until the time runs out. im sad to say its one of the highlights of my week

Gabe?

the cohost of the show. he's just some guy who lives in kansas city.

Sounds awesome. Reminds me of Tell em Steve Dave.

I saw them at Warped Tour in Milwaukee in 2002

Right there with you brother. I'm working on some hot new kino in nyc myself. May you be able to cast him sooner than later...

What happened to his film, Northwestern? That shit looked like it was going to be good.

Some girl I know found a signed copy of this movie at a goodwill. Lucky bitch. Why would someone give that up?

Goodwill is actually who most often gets unclaimed items when someone dies without any family or friends.

he never finished it.

since then he has had cameo apearances in a bunch of shitty movies (check out britney baby one more time if you feel like whacking yourself in the head with a hammer) and made a 15 minute long documentary. also he has a radio show in milwaukee.

I really doubt it would be hard to track down mark and get him to sign a copy of the movie. I'm sure he wouldn't even charge you for it.

I'm sure he want to charge you for it tough.

You consider yourself an american movie fan, but do you have this?

Will there ever be a blu ray release of this?

Doubtful but who knows

Why is the DVD so expensive? I mean it's not that pricey but you would think you'd be able to find this kind of movie in the $3 bin at a Walmart or something. Even on Ebay, the standard price is like $15. It's just a documentary that came out almost 20 years ago and it costs as much as a fairly new release. I could literally get Goodfellas on DVD and it would be 2x less expensive than this movie.

what are the special features? Audio commentary I hope.

trailers, deleted scenes, full coven short film and commentary

I don't, but somewhere I have a copy of the promo VHS. My best friend's dad owned a video store, and he'd get probably a dozen different promo tapes and dvds a week. Tons of softcore porn. Good fuckin times.

I heard it was supposed to be really good, I just thought it was long and boring.

...

Being underage is against the rules.

For the longest time I never understood this scene.

Wonder how much they got paid for that cameo

It's pretty good but this exists.

No. That relies on the mess that was going on. It's not really an inspiring kind of documentary

;_;

It must be great to watch Raging Bull in a theater.
