Well, it's complicated. I don't think he minds too much, but on the other hand I try not to pry. Whenever it's relevant he doesn't seem to mind recalling events or even sharing the war story or two (some are pretty good) but he does have PTSD. Evidently it used to be really bad, bad enough for the VA to give him 100% disability, and he still takes meds. I think therapy, a high quality life, and most of all time has really mellowed him out. He still doesn't like being in crowds or around tall buildings, too many snipers.

We maintain several navy yards there and conduct joint training exercises with the Vietnamese army from time to time.
