Let's all air our grievances towards Sup Forums media

I'm really sick of STILL hearing shit about Gravity Falls. I mean, fuck, the show is over. Leave it in the past where it belongs and Move the fuck on.

I'm tired of SU. Lovers and haters alike. Everyone needs to shut the hell up about it. I dont give a flying crap about cross- gendered rocks and your opinion on SJWs in media or whatever. Just shut up and either watch or hate the show quietly.

I hate being this guy, but if I don't say anything, I'll fucking explode.
>The shitty big 2 writing
>"It's not bad, it's stylized"
>Lack of truly mature animation,
>Teen Titans go and SpongeBob time slot hogs.
>Artist with talent being forced into a corner, just because they've drawn porn before.
>Shitty artists getting handed everything because they're a women/sjw/kiss ass.
>Hearing about sjw boogie man,
>Hearing about Tumblr or Sup Forums
>People not making independent comics
>People complaining about lack of animation while not at least trying to do anything about it.

The Stan Lee meme isn't funny and never was funny. Now people use it to shitpost on Sup Forums by attaching Stan Lee to a non Sup Forums related thing.

how the fuck can people still like superman? i mean seriously are you gay that his costume changes excite you that much? there's nothing wrong with being gay, i'm just asking a serious question

bendis a shit. he should be fired. bring back dark beast

fuck the monopoly of the big 2. the only reason i'm able to read marvel is because of storytimes

it still angers me that michael turner is still dead

how the fuck can anyone stand aang's voice in the first avatar series? i wanted to hit the tv with a bat every time he spoke

thank fuck cyclops is dead

the O5 is shit. i don't know how it's possible that it's still being published

what the fuck kind of world do we live in that we can't watch doctor strange on hallucinatory drugs without breaking the law?

what the hell is up with all the butt animation on breadwinners?

fuck it. i should just leave this board until i've started and finished alan moore's jerusalem. maybe then i won't see the point and i can spend time on something else

Please, no arguments by the way. Want people to be able to freely discuss things that bother them

100% agree. It's neo-Sup Forums 9gag tier forced.

MCU and DCCU are both complete shit. MCU is quipshit for 7 year olds and manchildren. DCCU is a dumpster fire for edgy 16 year olds and manchildren.

The only decent movies are Singer's X movies from FOX because they evolve and change in tone and style the way X-Men comics do, even when that leads to going full retard like in Apocalypse.

Overall I'd be most happy if live action comic books movies were banned and dumped on Sup Forums but we all know the incompetency of mods on Sup Forums means less rules in the future, not more. Especially when it comes to Sup Forums.

If you have dropped the fucking show years ago then stop coming into the fucking threads telling us how you dropped the show years ago. And for the love of Christ, stop telling telling me that the show is good because it's comfy or because you like porn of one of the characters.

Stop rebooting 70s, 80s, and 90s cartoons into live action CGI hybrids. Or better yet, just stop rebooting things. What a disappointment, seeing all these old IPs coming back in 2017-2019. Don't bring them back, unless it's a sequel or prequel that follows the same animation formula as the original(s). Let it die.

To bad you can tell her asshole and pussy is browner than shit

I dream of starting a webcomic, but I hate webcomics.

Or to be more accurate, I hate webcomic "culture". I hate seeing lesbians/LGBT shoehorned into stories by writers that aren't even gay, I hate the glacial update rates, how the comics just keep going on and on, never ending, like endings are a bad thing!

I know this has been repeated countless times, but Mabel is objectively a poorly written character and I don't like her

ATLA's Book One was pretty mediocre. It tried way too hard to be funny when the humor wasn't too good (in general), the action pales in comparison to all other seasons (Airbender protag + firebender antags = lots of shooting and dodging, but few actual hits), the characters were one-note, and there were very few GOAT episodes.

If it weren't for The Storm and Lok's Book 2 screwing up so much canon, Water would actually be my least favorite of the seven.

I'm so tired of the past being shoved up it's own ass

I hate people complaining about a show being canceled when people don't watch it on tv. Commercial are what play a show, so when you don't watch on tv our buy the episodes there is no metric to give the product value.

>no one cares about cross-gendered rocks and your opinion on SJWs in media
This user speaks the truth.

There aren't enough sexy lesbians in cartoon and comics.

Rule 15 made this site worse with Sup Forums taking the blunt of it all.

It doesn't even matter with mlp anymore, but it's open season to shit and ban whatever "hot" franchise there is right now with the mods either not doing shit or making it worse.

>I hate the glacial update rates, how the comics just keep going on and on, never ending, like endings are a bad thing!
I can't stand this either. I mean, they don't have to completely stop and give up on the story's universe and lore, just don't drag things out for too long. Especially if your writing process is aimless due to not planning out your story from the get-go. A good example of this would be PK. If you finish your story, you could always create a spinoff series based around a different character's adventures, past, or whatever.

>I dream of starting a webcomic
If you don't mind me asking, what do you plan on making it about? Just curious.

>when you don't watch on tv our buy the episodes there is no metric to give the product value.
I get what you're saying, but sometimes people can't watch them on TV due to some channels not airing their shows in most countries. For example, CN doesn't run some shows like Bunnicula in America(even though they aired only around 5 episodes here), but they air them in other countries almost daily with new episodes too. I don't understand why. Buying episodes shouldn't be an issue though, unless its Sup Forums related. Really, why the fuck do some anime/animation networks and companies block specific countries from visiting their websites, I want to pay for your shit!

Every time I see threads on those shitty slice of life (don't know how to describe them. young adult dramedies?) webcomics like Dumbing of Age or Questionable Content I want to hurl. Do people actually like this shit? They're ugly as sin and offensively boring. I get a lot of the drive to post threads for updates of these comics is to shit on it/the creators, but even that doesn't seem worth tainting this board with their presence.

The threads started out mocking the comics. They're still mostly mockery, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still reading them every day

Marvel in general

I'm tired as shit of wasted potential.
Sometimes these animated shows and films have these glimmers of brilliance that either fizzle out or derail and I hate having my expectations raised then dashed.

i just fucking hate comics, i've been out of the big 2 game for almost a year.

and i only come to Sup Forums to see that
YES
indeed, they are still terrible.

I'm no expert. But from what I know about the entertainment business it has a lot to do with "charts". Now this varies from company to company and doesn't appear all that much in movies. Production studios often rely on marketing to determine programming and region. For example, Lets say they did a big commercial push for Bunnicula before airing. So after the first couple episodes they actually made air they show doesn't get returns. But for whatever reason they viewing audience that tuned in was 85% french, and the show airs without competition. A studio might conclude that it is worth continuing the show in this smaller market since they have paid for more episodes and people. Because of union in entertainment, canceling a production is usually pretty expensive because you still have to pay for the work they would have done.

i want to kill whoever made the let it grow meme

Ah, alright. I hate to admit it, but I'm completely clueless to televised entertainment from a business standpoint. I mean, it's a shame for fans of the show that live in the United States, but hey, what can you do now except wait until you can purchase individual episodes online. It's the only way for me to support them I guess. Thanks for the info, user.

I--me, yes, ME--could have made a better version of Legend of Korra than Bryke did. I know it in my bones.

Marvel needs to start publishing Swimsuit special issues again.

this is all gonna be really stream-of-consciousness but fuck it.

It's not hard, damn it. You start off with Superman, you have him come to earth, maybe people don't trust him right away. But you build a character who wants to do GOOD, who was raised by GOOD people, but the world is cynical and mistrusting. So he tries, he tries his hardest, he smiles, he reassures people, but the general population just can't get over that hurdle. He's an alien, he's all-powerful, he seems like he can be anywhere at any time. how can you trust that?

And then maybe he saves the day from Zodd, but he's not fast enough and there's a disaster. People lost their lives, the city's almost destroyed. The people still don't trust him. But he vows, never again. He doesn't need the world's trust, he'll still be its protector.

And then you do Batman, he's retired. The Joker killed Robin years ago and he couldn't do it anymore. So he went into hiding. And then this Superman comes along and Bruce realizes he's still needed. So he goes out, his methods are harsher, trying to clean up crime while gathering intel on the alien. He discovers Superman has a weakness, Kryptonite. But using it would mean killing Superman. Show Bruce struggling with that hurdle. He thinks Superman is the largest menace the world has ever seen, but can he really do it? He finally decides that yes, yes he needs to. They fight, they struggle, Bruce manages to overcome him, and then right when he's poised to strike, Superman says "There's a woman, you need to save her." No Martha nonsense, none of that. Just Bruce realizing that, even in Superman's final moments, he's concerned with saving someone else. This isn't a threat, he's a man who will devote his entire being to protecting people. It's not fucking hard.

Go read webcomics, you cant go two comics without a fucking lesbian.

Suicide Squad should've been rated R. These people should've been assholes, real fucking scumbags. They should've been incompetent at first. That first fight with the monsters, they should've been bumping into each other, knocking each other around. Harley stepping in front of Deadshot's gun on accident, Croc swinging an arm and clocking Boomerang in the head. They should've hated each other at first. And then as time goes on, they start to bond a bit more.

When the Joker comes along, Deadshot still lets Harley go. But when she's on the helicopter and they're embracing, suddenly Joker winces. He steps back and there's a knife sticking out of his side. "You left me ta drown, Mistah J! And so now I'm gonna leave you to bleed out! Funny, huh?"

"Th-that's... not... Funny at all..."

And then she jumps out of the helicopter, landing on the roof. She and Deadshot set it all up ahead of time, that's why he let her go in the first place.

Would've been way better.

Well there is always hulu, netflix, and the like. The problem is distribution is entertainment is having a hard time coming up to date. Distributors are one of the secret mafia of entertainment (along with the god damn teamsters). They hate change in any way.

So somehow Lucifer gets a sequel, and it finished right around when I finished the original. So I'm super excited, cause Sandman and Lucifer were my shit and I desperately need new media to consume, and Lucifer's ending made me really curious to how they could continue it...

Except the person writing it never read the first one. Yep, someone was paid actual paper money to write the sequel to a work they haven't read (an amazing one at that, that should be read by all fans of the medium and stories and general, but especially by the person writing it's sequel!!!).

What kind of bullshit is that? seriously what the fuck happened there? Who decided to make a Lucifer sequel, and then went out and found someone uniquely unqualified for the job.

God damn you mother fuckers, whoever you are. you fuckers

I'm tired of Capeshits. People have all rights to love them, but they have gone from myths ('cause that's what they are, they were supposed to be heroic figures in glorifying stories, even the anti-heroic ones) but now they are nothing but brands. You can see it by the fact that it's not a mantle anymore, it's a symbol you slap onto whatever ideology you wish, you give it a name and keep calling them the same name. Thor, Iron Man, Green Lantern. A mask isn't just a brand, because readers can see the man or the woman behind it. If you can so easily interchange the people behind the masks, then all they are doing is filling a slot until they become old or unlikeable or the brand isn't selling anymore. Even then if you have only old stuff to work with, you simply reboot and short-term memory of the public accepts whatever you sell them.

I know there have been great stories even after reboots.
But I feel these brands are already rotting behind the fabric and this makes me sad.

I wish for capeshit to be destroyed and burned to ground and those ashes scattered in the wind not because I hate it, but because I wish for new types of capeshit to come up. New actual comic hero universes. I stumbled recently upon Invincible, read it all, and felt at least some kind of fresh air. It clearly sparks from the same kind of capeshit, but at least it's not the same icons crossing 80 years or so of american history to the point you can't even pretend there's suspension of disbelief.

I really wish Marvel and DC closed all comic book series they have open right now, and created a fully new universe, with no attempted ripoffs of previous characters. It's obvious some will be in some way similar to the old legends, but it's all in how you make them appear. If you consider Spiderman and Batman, they have similar origin stories, and themes, but they are iconic each in his own way.
I wish for specific, iconic stories told ONCE, then expanded for some time. No reboots.

Alright, here is the biggest problem that I have with Sup Forums related media.

>Discussion about good runs rarely occur
>Legacy characters are in abundance.
>LGBTQ or diverse characters are rarely handled with a lot of respect, despite all the writers supposedly being liberal.
>Sup Forums is so easily baited and threads about out of contexts pages can continue for years.
>Miracleman is still taking a long time to be published.
>The O5 represents the biggest problem that Marvel has. It's banking off nostalgia without doing anything new with that nostalgia unlike DC's rebirth.
>Alan Moore is not a miserable old man. Seriously, have you heard the guy speak, he seems like such a nice guy to talk to.
>The three worse writers in Marvel at the moment are Soule, Aaron and Bendis.
>I wish that if we were discussing opnions that someone could come up with a better argument than just 'Reddit' or 'Faggot' and actually explain why they are wrong.
>I wish people would talk about the good and bad parts of a company rather just state what it is in one sentence.
>I wish that we could allow and have more creation or art based Sup Forums threads.

I am legitimately mad that Japan has better TV shows than we do

And that foreign films in general are much more interesting than whatever DreamWorks' latest turd is, barring Illumination

DreamWorks is something that I've really grown to hate for how consistently they put out mediocre films and I hope to any god that is listening to me that HTTYD3 isn't complete dogshit

I feel you.
I'd love to start my webcomic and see people opening the occasional thread here, but the thought that people online will start fighting over who is the best waifu or which ship is best or building up some forced meme just makes me puke.
That's why if I ever get to finish my project, I'm gonna sell it through usual means. I'd be even happier if it ends storytimed here, rather than force someone else through an endless 'one page per week' or so. It tends to drag the product and it distracts from page harmony, structure, pacing. It's something new comic artists grown on the web don't understand, because they post stuff to be click-browsed, not hand-browsed through the pages of a book. It's a new way with a new media, but that ends poorly when published on paper.

Rebirth is awesome. I'm not understanding how it gets hate after New52 sure there has been better but it ain't Marvel.
Speaking of...
Nu Marvel fans hurt my brain, like how can anyone stand by the blatent shit they're pumping out or the blatent bullshit they're pulling with oversending issues and disrespectful attitudes to fans?
The new characters are shit, the new writing is shit and the new storylines are stupid. Most of the artis okay webcomic tier at best.

>LGBTQ or diverse characters are rarely handled with a lot of respect, despite all the writers supposedly being liberal.

Could you elaborate? I'm interested in what you could mean by this

>the Simpsons

Where to begin...

Alright, this is going into rant territory but this issue is very near and dear to my heart as I am part of the 'targeted audience'.

The issue that I have is that most of the characters are put up on a pedestal. If a character is 'diverse' they are usually treated as though they are holy saints and written like one too. They are flawless and it's the world around them which is wrong. It's the world which treats them like shit.

That's the biggest issue I have with it. It's insulting to me and people like me because it's pandering in the worse way possible. It makes us seem like something we are not making it a total misrepresentation of certain groups.

I am not going to say, write a character who just happens to be 'X'. Being in a group which is considered a 'minority' does define how you view the world quite a bit. I also don't mind them facing discrimination because that can happen. But I would like these characters to be written as what they are. People. Ones that have their personal flaws and strengths which can be influenced by their upbringing and sexuality, certainly, but people none the less. I don't want them written as these perfect idols who are vindicated from their flaws on the account of them being diverse.

Although we have gone a bit further from the 'gay/black best friend' which is a positive in my eyes, we can't pretend like there isn't a problem in how minorities are written today. Or at least, that's how I view it from what I have seen recently.

STOP PLAYING TEEN TITANS GO SO MUCH, CN! STOP WITH THE BOMB EPISODE FORMAT! STOP CANCELING GOOD SHOWS! STOP REBOOTING GOOD SHOWS INTO CRAP! GIVE US BACK GOOD SHOWS ON BOOMERANG! AAAAHHHHH!

>many faggots shitting themselves over NuPPG
so can a person give me a legitimate rebuttal other than these:
>Dude, animation error!
>Dude, memes!
>Dude, muh nostalgia!

He asked for sexy lesbians, user. Don't lie to the poor lad.

okay
compared to standard television its fucking trash
compared to bad television its fucking trash
compared to trash television it fits right at home
its fucking bad

It's straight up not funny. It fails to be its own thing despite wanting to separate itself from the original and never really bothers to explain anything for new audiences. This is also bait.

I don't think any of the cartoon cartoons where ever good except for Johnny Bravo.

I don't understand how people can shit over the nuPPG when the original was fuck awful and shittily animated and Dexter's Lab and Johnny Test are the same fucking show,

I can't tell if this guy's serious or not.

>This is also bait.
Feel like this kind of thread would attract bait. Just ignore it

Comics have gone to shit as of late and it's pissing me off.

What is this from

>CN's handling of Steven Universe

In the case of reboots, "not muh" is actually a valid criticism.

You can't just bring something back while abandoning EVERYTHING that made the original great.

so did movies
so did music

creativity is dead.

Source, name, anything?
Is it even worth searching for?

bump

Fuck Adventure Time and everything that spawned from it, directly or otherwise. The Nickelodeon pilot was funny because at the time surreal humor was still somewhat uncommon. Now it's been boiled down to a formula of X-parts LOLRANDUMB and Y-parts half-baked soap opera feels to simultaneously appeal to dumb preschoolers and tumblrinas who are either literal teenagers or just manchildren.

If people out there are going to endlessly reboot shit, follow three criteria:
>Is the IP less than 25 years old?
>Is the IP still well-remembered?
>Does the IP already have many pre-existing reboots and cross-media adaptations?
If the answer is "yes" to at least two of these, don't reboot. For every wave of nostalgia hype there's an equal and opposite wave of assblasted nostalgia faggotry when some aspects from the original show are handled poorly or flat-out abandoned in the reboot.

I went to college to learn how to draw for comic books, and learning about the industry has made me hate it. I could probably write a dozen posts on what pisses me off about it, but for now I'll just say I'm glad freelancing con-peddling is an option.

Professional Sup Forums creators out there need to learn to stop conversing with their fans until AFTER they've finished making the product. I don't fucking care how many hundreds of thousands of people that includes, nor do I care if a few thousand among them actually have experience creating Sup Forums material - they're not the creator, they're the consumer, and there's a difference between thinking you know what you want versus knowing what makes a quality product. If you want to be yelled at by a client, do commission work.

i'm starting to like reading comics
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Nah, you need to get better taste in movies and music.

I hate, I hate it with a passion, the bland stories are one thing, the (mostly) boring art for the majority of their titles sucks, but the worst part is that DC gave a bunch of crap/uninteresting creators exclusives so you just know there's more mediocrity on the way. No, wait, the worst part is the fans it spawned that call you a shill, marvelcuck or shiposter if you don't like the mediocre crap DC is pumping out. It's funny when I get accused of that despite hating the ever living fuck out of Marvel.

And I hate Image and the constant praise the mediocre tv/movie pitches get, and I hate how they get a pass on canceling interesting series/letting them die.

Marvel isn't worth bringing up, they've been shit for a few years now.

The comic book industry sucks right now.

I have no idea what the source is, I downloaded it from /gif/ and they don't know what the source is either. Sorry.

Happy how this thread turned out, with little to no arguments

>implying "not muh" is a valid criticism
lazy cop out is still a cop out

it's cause he ain't a nostalgia faggot
