Monster vs Aliens is not a great movie at all. Matter of fact it's a terrible execution of a fine concept.
If the movie was handled differently, in a more emotional and character driven fashion instead of an action joint, it would be much better.

I remember that movie was doing a "you aren't young anymore" plot with the fish man but then it just stopped. Went nowhere at all. Like they couldn't get the script working right but left stuff in to eat up running time.
