Goose. It was the dude's house and guy was taking care of her, his kid and was a generally decent guy. Goose is the father, but he was a piece of shit and knew it.
He wanted to provide as a father, didn't have the tools, hence why he made the fatal decision to rob that last bank. He wanted to have the white picket fence with her as his wife and his kid by his side.
