So Butch Hartman is obviously trying to garner support for a Danny Phantom reboot after making multiple videos but this one is the most blatant. He describes areas of the Ghost Zone that were never shown or even mentioned in the series and drops a new important character and possible plotline for a Danny Phantom Reboot.

Is Sup Forums interested?

That depends, I don't really feel like watching the videos, mind giving a rough summary?

That depends. Does he still insist they're not actually the ghosts of dead humans? I think them being real ghosts went against his Christian faith.

They should just take a happy middle ground and not address the issue in the show at all.

For the newest one, he basically goes over the lore of the Ghost World and what we know about it. He brings up a few cool points:

>There are kingdoms that are governed by ghosts, and they make the rules for that kingdom (Skulker's island, Walker's jail). They also have their own ectoplasm or something.
>There are black holes in the GW that are created when two different ectoplasms combine. The black holes are destructive forces of nature, but are very rare.
>There's a world between our world and the GW, called the Unworld, which is a nightmare limbo where you don't have human or ghost abilities, and once you're inside you're trapped forever.
>There's the Elsewhereness(?), that's a world where fear, pain and misery don't exist. A paradise for ghosts, and every ghost (he makes sure to insist that EVERY ghost) wants to be there, but almost no one has found it.
> Vlad wants to find and control it, because Butch says so and Vlad is a shitty villain.
>One ghost (pictured in the OP) found the Elsewhereness, and he wrote it down in a book. He also explored every part of the Ghost Zone, which is also written down in the book.
>He and his book haven't been found, but pages of the book have been round randomly across the GW, and each of them has a clue to the Elsewhereness.

The Elsewhereness sounds like an interesting plot, especially if we find out different reasons as to why each ghost wants to be there. (Ember wants to never feel the pain of rejection again, ghost werewolf never wants to be hunted again, etc.) But I can see how that story would end a mile away: Danny destroys the pages so Vlad can never find it, and the world and plotline remain underexplored.

All I really got from this is that Butch really liked Gravity Falls.

Jesus, are we still talking about Danny Phantom, the tv-show? Cause this sounds like some CW, DC, road trip bull.

I mean, I got more Christianity vibes from all of this: the Elsewhereness is Heaven, the Unworld is a mix of Purgatory and Hell, and if you reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaallly want to stretch things, the book is the Bible, and its passages tell you how to get to Heaven.

Wasnt he a born again christian so he had to retcon the whole ghosts actually being "ghosts" thing?

Fuck, that sounds like a shitty season

>[Heavens Door]

What's a human ability?

In the GW humans are intangible

Do we know he's Christian?

I would be interested if original writer Steve Marmel came back, and Guy Moon was replaced on music. The chances of either of these happening is slim.

It's been a decade since the last episode. If the hope is to appeal to old fans with a darker version, they might have missed the boat.

In never understood this. Does Hartman think Aliens are more spiritual/religious than Ghosts? Isn't Evolutionary Alien beings from a dimension more blasphemous than saying its not lost souls? Or does he honestly think space aliens practice Christianity?
I mean hell look at this he basically made a Scientific Alien Heaven and Hell. Couldn't someone make the argument/assumption that those were the inspiration for the belief of Heaven and Hell (and thus he himself basically implying his religion is false in this world)?? Is that sacrilegious?

I just feels like he's over-complicating trying to make the show not to belittle his religion by giving scientific answers to his lore when it does the opposite.

Like, saying Ghosts are dead people doesn't say God isn't real. But saying Ghost and anything supernatural is aliens kinda is. You think he realizes this?

factually incorrect, retard. There are no connections between either, in fact you'd have to be denser then every angsty 13 year old who sat in the back of the classroom all day watching Linkin park 9/11 DBZ AMV's who got called a fag by 3 15 year old jocks and threatened to shoot the school up but then got called a retard and entered his father's recent midlife crisis fueled purchased Rei Ayanami stickers attached to a worn down Hummer in a frail attempt at not getting the shit kicked out of him, both returning home to the 17 year old teen mom watching a shitty VHS recording of the MTV awards 2004 while drinking the recent hip and fresh drink that all the youngsters used to drink 4 years before that with her interracial child who will grow up without a father and OD at 28 just because he was too busy being anally porked by every buff neo-nazi and black panther they could pack into the prison after being falsely accused of possessing child pornography because he let his 13 old brother borrow it for a day and the 13 year old went to Sup Forums where the anonymous hacker known as Sup Forums resigns and entered a Cheese Pizza thread unwittingly.

What video?
I see no links...

WUT

bump

Hell, the first drawing of the author ghost looks like jesus.

Comin from one of his Twitter followers, seems to be a pretty devout one.

I feel almost spiritually obligated to be interested since I used to be sort of autistic for this show, but then on the other hand... How directly responsible was he for season 3 again?

It could be good

You ask a good question. I guess he hasn't thought about it that far. That's very common. Something isn't considered blasphemous because no one's pointed it out.

>a diary has the secrets to achieve Heaven
What kind of reference is this

Glagly, if he can get the rights from nick and successfully pitch it to Netflix, Amazon prime, or another more independent studio. Nick is dying, they haven't had a good show in years, and whenever they do have something good the executives come in and fuck it up somehow.

You know that they never stopped being ghosts right?

It is just a meme that Sup Forums made. You can even fucking ask Butch Hartman about it.

No fucking body of you guys would ever be able to bring a source to what you say.

Oh hey, Anonymous became a space ghost

sounds like a ripoff of Bleach and HunterxHunter

Dude you can just watch the show and see how it was retconned.

Ok, give me the episode them.

They literaly said on an episode how ghosts work.

Spiral staircase

Not really.

They just showed that ghosts are ectoplasm given form by human memmories. Which is what ghost basicaly are anyway.

Danny is half ghost because he has a setient ghosts fused on his dna, this ghost part when separated 2 times, took aspects of his appereance and personality.

I only liked the first season anyway. It was a bit more weird teen adventures with ghost stuff in the background than the same old superhero crap every later season became.

Isn't the ghost zone retconned into being something more like 40K's Warp than an afterlife dimension?

The ghost zone was retconned from an afterlife to a sort of mirror world the exists in tandem with earth. Which is why the asteroid would have destroyed it too.

Where it was said to be an afterlife?

Season 1. When ghosts used to be dead people.

First couple episodes, the one with the nerd ghost was one

Even on the last season ghosts were show to be dead people.

In this regard it is still an afterlife, just in another dimension.

No they weren't. They specifically tried to distance ghosts and humans in that sense towards the end of the show.

people die and become ghost in the ghost zone. Its a place after you had lived therefore an Afterlife you fucking braindead retard. As for the actual quote from the show I don't remember if it has ever been stated but it is implied you fucking baiting cumstain

Still no proof.

Not him, but the Ghost Zone is a mirror dimension where your memmories become ghosts. Basicaly an afterlife and doesn't retcon or contradict anything.

From the show:

"Ghosts are odd manifestation[s] of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness"

Why can't the post human consciousness technically be the dead human? That combines with the energy to form itself into a green glowing versions of what it used to be?

Why does it have to be taken as some other third party that was never that person's soul?

Something to do with beetles and stairs I take it

>towards the end of the show.

>Basicaly an afterlife and doesn't retcon or contradict anything.
Except for the part where earlier ghost were legitimate living people who died rather than just memories given life.

Interview

Zcat6: Regarding Vlad, was there any inspiration or anyone you thought of, real or fictional, when developing Vlad's character? I also heard Plasmius was originally only going to be a vampire. When did you decide to merge Vlad Masters and Plasmius together?
Butch Hartman: Yes. Vlad was originally going to be a vampire- "plasmius" is based on "Plasma" which is another name for "Blood" - but that kind of character borders on "occultic" and I - and Nickelodeon - refuse to have anything in my shows regarding that kind of overtly, occultic stuff. (Imagine, here I am doing two shows: One based on magic and one based on ghosts! We really had to walk a fine line on both. Sheesh). So it was decided to make Vlad a "ghost". And, also, by "ghost" I mean, a guy with special powers like Danny. Remember: in "Danny Phantom" our ghosts are not the disembodied spirits of dead people. Oh no no. They're "monsters/creatures" from a mysterious dimension. Although we never say that out loud, that's the slant we take. Get it? We just call them ghosts because it's easier.

from the show? you mean from then Fentons, right? You sure they got everything figured out of the ghost phenomenon?

>they aren't ghosts
>they're creatures that act like ghosts!
God damn it Hartman

It didn't always make sense though in the earlier episodes. Like Poindexter, he came from an area of the Ghost Zone that was identical to that 1950s High School

So unless that entire school had been completely wiped out in some horrific accident, they couldn't all be the actual ghosts of those kids.

Of course there's the possibility that after all of those kids grew up and died they all reverted back to themselves as teenagers and their afterlife is just repeating high school for the rest of eternity

Its memmories of dead people who think and act the same.

Its a Swamp Thing situation, not even the ghosts must know that they aren't the real person.

because that is fucking stupid

It sounds like that was just the excuse he gave to get past Nick censors

>So unless that entire school had been completely wiped out in some horrific accident, they couldn't all be the actual ghosts of those kids.
They clearly weren't memories for Poindexter user especially since they weren't on a constant loop of bullying. If you remember right they change their tune at the end and stop bullying him.

Necessary strawpoll:
strawpoll.me/12163124

Because it explains how someone can be half ghost and have your ghost half separated.

Probably related to the "each ghost has his own kingdon" and Point Dexter's lack of self steem and self loating made his kingdom nothing but endless bullying for him?

And once he fought Danny like an equal and felt how it is to be popular, his kingdom started to change to reflect that?

What you guys think?

Why didn't anyone else who entered the ghost zone gain ghost powers?

They even knew exactly how to set the portal so that it would do that.

Rest of interview :

web.archive.org/web/20140910231400/http://mysite.verizon.net/zcat6/IntBH2006p4.html

KABUTOMUSHI

Because Danny was standing right where the portal formed and had his DNA altered as a result.
It's not the act of going through it that gives powers.

Since the Fairies in FOP are from a different planet aren't they "aliens" too? Sounds just like a way to get around the censors and if this effects your enjoyment of the series in any way then you're seriously autistic.
