Fixed.

This was my favorite Disney film as a kid because of the antics of Prince Johna and Hiss but I'll never be able to discuss it without being called a furry.

Even on Sup Forums.

I really like it.

I feel like I'm not a huge Disney fan and so that may be why I like it more than some of the more famous films despite its flaws-- not in the sense that I hate the movies or anything but that I'm not sure there are any that really feel "perfect" to me because I usually end up disliking one thing or another about them despite other things being good (think I'm more critical about animation than live action for whatever reason). But this is one that really hits a lot of the right notes for me, even with the noticeably cheap animation in some spots and a plot that just kind of stops at the end.

Some of the things about it that it's criticized for actually work for me. The whole western film motif throughout, the laidback/low-stakes tone, mix of English and American southern accents (there actually seems to be more logic behind it than it's given credit for, with the upper-class characters tending to sound English), even the whole anthropomorphic animal thing was still a novelty at the time and, along with the tongue-in-cheek "this is how it REALLY happened" thing, helps indicate it's not trying to be a serious retelling.

I liked how the plot was meandering and ended up showing the lives of a lot of different characters. The sense of community with the characters banding and suffering together is handled well. The script is genuinely funny and has some good writing and character moments.

Also Prince John is kind of underrated as a Disney villain. The whole manchild/thumbsucking angle dominates everything about the character and it's going to be what viewers remember most, but I liked the contrast between him being a total neurotic loser who's a joke even among the villagers, but still has the power to ruin their lives through his position. Great voice acting too.

I'd like to claim nostalgia, but some of what I liked most when rewatching recently (dialogue/Prince John) wasn't what I liked as a kid. I think I just have weird preferences.

Oh boy, another stealth Zootopia thread.

_ _____ ____ ____ ___

It's a classic!

It sure exists, doesn't it.

okay movie, but responsible for creating many furfags.

I don't think you know what opinion is, smartass.

Props to this guy.

Robin Hood *does* suffer from stock footage (it's *own* and reusing models from Jungle Book) and the Maid Marian subplot is forgotten by the time Friar Tuck got arrested, but that doesn't make it a *bad* movie by any stretch.

The characters are uniformly appealing and likeable, villains and heroes alike, and Disney stock footage is still pretty high quality stuff regardless.

I would have liked to have seen more of Robin being a merry trickster, but the finale was pretty boss, so I can't complain too much.

This is why I'm terrified of ever being famous. I'd totally sperg out like he did.

I want Robin Hood to fart on my dick

The comfiest movie of all time 2bh

It was my favorite movie as a kid and I will never watch it as an adult for fear of destroying those memories.

This is what I think

youtube.com/watch?v=riQuN3rTTZ8

He's very sexy.

His voice awakened something in me at a very young age.

...

Bump

It's a pretty comfy movie. I watched it a lot when I was a kid.
>tfw no handsome fox husband

It's a very understated yet charming movie. I really can't blame them all that much for reusing animation at some bits - They really were in the hole financially at the time. It still ended up being a very charming film that I enjoyed as a kid and still enjoy now.

I've...never seen it despite liking furry junk. I imagine it's on kiss cartoon?

Maid Marian is my waifu

>This was my favorite Disney film as a kid because of the antics of Prince Johna and Hiss but I'll never be able to discuss it without being called a furry.

Furry.

Don't take this post seriously. The ancient egyptians were also furries.

Why though? nobody gave a shit about this but furfags and anti-furfags. Normal people just had a few laughs and moved on with their lives.

Unless you explicitly explain your fetish on live TV

Holy fuck, that quality. I think it's high time I got myself a copy of this movie in a current format.

Decent enough movie, but good god is there so much furry porn dedicated to this character.

just looking at that rooster got me whistling the tune

The year is 2017.

In the past decade there have been so many new strange weird subcultures that furries are unremarkable.

You've just had bad luck. Every single time I mention this movie to someone, they talk about how hilarious John & Hiss are.

It's a testament to how those 2 characters can totally steal the show. God I love Peter Ustinov.

The situation COULD have been embarrassing but the other host immediately confessed she had a crush on Robin Hood so everything is okay.

Meant to reply to

Not nearly as much as you might think, compared to the other characters. Believe me, I've checked.

It was probably my favorite Disney movie as a kid.

hmm i think you might be a furry

Terrible and boring with shit animation.
Little John is just Baloo.
Great music and character design though.

For some reason I really loved the sketch-like outlines the animation had. It really fit the setting. But outside of that I don't remember much of the movie. I last saw it as a kid since I had it on VHS.

Superior animated Fox

youtube.com/watch?v=wA2-0nTxaGg

Sequel when?

I don't know why they are so insistent on the duck-like design of Fox since Command, and with those whiskers it looks additionally hideous.

In CGI? no thanks.

who said it had to be CGI?

Disney

The last 2 decades of animated movies.

Shrek and Frog Princess

>thereĀ“s not enough pics of this two

Have to learn to hide your power level. Eddie just completely lost it during that interview.

gotta normalize furries somehow ;)

It's great. Watched it again recently and it's a blast. The only issue is now I can tell there they reused animation from Jungle Book. Otherwise it's a fun movie. Adored it as a kid.

Fucking this. God bless you user.

I felt it had a mis-shapened plot. You have a big daring attempt to save the princess...in the middle of the movie. Im not sure if it would be better overall, but I think the big jail break should be the end of act 2 with the rescue of maid marian the end of act 3

But the jail break made Robin have to storm John's castle, which meant he would have a showdown with John's army and John himself.

Is this what the new versions look like? They blurred all the sketch lines into a mess.

Yes. Welcome to the future! Enjoy your stay

Very enjoyable movie with fun cast.

Only criticism is that suffered from what a couple other Disney films of the day had; a lack of a focused plot and instead it was just the character going around doing antics until the MC had to deal with one final subplot with greater stakes in the last 25 minutes then the movie just sorta ends.

Thats kinda what I felt too. John wasn't really defeated. They just got the best of him like at the end of a cartoon episode.

I'm missing context here.

I want a Robin Hood cartoon now

me too user, me too.

They would probably do it as a preschoolar show, honestly.

An absolute madman known only as Eddie "Layin' with the lion" Redmayne confessed his desire to fuck Nala, Cheetara, and Maid Marian on live television.

teach kids early the evils of taxation, police brutality and overbearing government

I wonder what our boy Eddie is up to these days.

You'll see him as the MC in the next Aardman film in 2018.

Fapping to Zootopia porn probably.

mumbling his way in a couple move roles

Isn't Disney planning to make a live action Lion King movie? Wonder if Eddie tries to get a role in it.

>live action
You mean an animated movie with a particular artistic style

Well yeah.
Basically like the new Jungle book movie.....minus any humans.

Wasn't he in that new spinoff Harry Potter film or whatever?

Yup.

>I hate utilities and infrastructure

I like it even if most of the animation is reused from older films.

>Not to worry citizen, we'll use these to build roads!

I liked the movie a lot when I was younger, had a ton of memorable songs. It gets a lot of hate (fairly or unfairly, you decide) for being chock full of repurposed animation from other Disney Films

It's the kind of thing that you'd expect from Hanna-Barbera, not a multi-million dolllar company with more money to throw around than God himself

...

Yeah, but it was actually the other talkshow guest who confessed she had a crush on Robin Hood.

Could someone make a Webm of Friar Tuck contorting his face in disgust at seeing the Sheriff essentially robbing that poor dog off the gold?

She didn't seem so enthused...like she was put on the spot and blurted out an answer. Like a pity answer or as a joke.

Explain

Fapping to zootopia art in his big house, a different room for every day.

>.yiff

And you drink it and you guzzle it down

Is that the blue ray version? The image seem perfect here.

Maybe the i-tunes version.
I-tunes HD versions usually are less filtered to shit than official Disney Bluerays.

At least it was that way in the sword and the stone.

He inspired so much furry porn. So much furry porn.

...

bump

Wasn't Disney doing shit around that time?

There is a decent version, that is not fucked like this, from an HDTV rip version floating around the webs.

> goes to disneyscreencaps.com, in hope to see unfucked screen caps...
> they updated the gallery with the Blu Ray version

dammit

After watching it yeasterday, I have to agree. Just beautiful.

youtube.com/watch?v=1qN72LEQnaU

Anyone else notice how Robin Hood is drawn differently throughout the movie? He looks most 'on model' at the end of the film after he emerges from the water, makes me think he should have looked like that in all the other scenes too.

How about you read the thread, asshole?
ctrl+f "youtu"

Robin Hood was the first animated feature to not be overseen by Walt Disney. He died half way through the movie and the Nine Old Men took over as the head of production. The reason the movie is fun, is because it was made by animators for the simple fact of having fun animation gags, the story is kind of a hot mess because of this.
PS I love this movie
