Videogame reviewer Jeff 'I only like 7th gen shooters, Rock Band and gacha games' Gertsmann said this movie is basically this era's Rocky Horror Picture Show. Is this true?
Up there as possibly the best of the decade, in my opinion.
And yeah that doesn't say great things about our time but the movie is very real in that respect.
>And yeah that doesn't say great things about our time but the movie is very real in that respect.
By this I don't mean that the movie isn't that good but that what it reflects is obviously pretty fucked up, but what can you do?
is it fake deep?
No, I'd say it does things right in showing the true ambiguity and mixed bag of reality.
It's a masterpiece, La Dolce Vita for the brainwashed degenerate millennial generation.
what other korine films should i watch?
Gumbo for sure.
And he wrote but didn't direct Kids but you should def see that.
Who knows? I think Spring Breakers has more to say than Gumbo which was good, but has basically 0 narrative whatsoever.
I think that is such a plebian take. Oh yea Korine wanted to show how evil and degenerate our culture is by using disney girls to do crazy shit. I dont think the movie is saying our society is 'fucked up' because that would be such a boring statement from a dude who considers himself an 'artist'.
Trash Humpers is the most 'fucked up' statement from Korine for me. That shit was disturbing in a way that is feels much more grounded in reality than Spring Breakers. Spring Breakers feels like an LSD trip or something.
>gumbo
It's gummo fagatron.
Oh really I had no idea
Derp I knew that.
I don't take the movie as 'criticism' or anything, but I think it's a complex enough animal that you can see some real nastiness, grotesqueness and darkness in it, but also a lot of unabashed sexiness, as well as sublimity and beauty
My brother and I went to see this in the pictures, and we both hated it. However, reading what others have said about it, I fear we may not be cine-literate enough to have understood it.
It's only similarity to rocky horror picture show is that they're both shit but girls love it
I thought it was super boring.
Harmony Korine is a legit pedo btw.
>2 bright neon bikini clad young women with no fire arms training massacre over a dozen armed gangbangers without getting a scratch
Stopped watching right there
I should objectively masturbate more to this but I find myself masturbating to Ken Park's orgy more often than not
surrealism, buddy
Haven't seen it, But I want to seed Hudgens' colon. Would I like it based solely on the skin shown in the film?
most of the nudity is random extras, but yea, probably
yeah, normies and libs really hated this great show because it was a too truthful and bitter pill to swallow for the brainwashed degenerate millennial generation
It is fake shallow
Skrillex' soundtrack in this show is nothing short of majestic
The movie of future generations honestly
That was the point lol: people thinking they live in a videogame
it's just a movie senpai, it doesn't really prove anything
fuck this movie is beautiful
don't know a single girl who liked spring breakers
its because it hits too much close to home...
yes
All the people I follow on twitter were shit talking this movie when it first came out. I watched it recently and thought it was pretty great, why all the hate?
read this sounds like that's the kind of people you follow on twitter.
the movie is just as much a celebration of that culture as it is a condemnation
did Selena Gomez get Hollywood'd?
>stopped watching right there
So you are saying you made it through the entire movie minus the kiss scene. Congrats..
wasnt that like the fucking end of the movie? what you stoped watching it with 5 mins left including he credits? good job faggot
I just finished watching this and I don't know if I like it or not. I mean the repeating dialogue was lame as fuck. You can tell they had the barest of script to work with. All the characters did some stupid shit that eventually got on my nerves.. but through all this random titty and ass jiggling I found myself thinking "fuck it.. go with it" till I was waiting excitedly for the payback at the end. It had a few kino scenes but I would have preferred a more complete film with more dialogue than the same 10 lines repeated over and over.
>fuck it.. guess it was good for what it was but definitely had faults
i loved the repeated dialogue, made it so surreal and dreamlike
Spraaaaaang breeeaaaaaaaaaak
Watched it on fast forward to jerk off to hot slunts, then afterwards depressed was because I realized I played a part in the shallow nihilism the movie was celebrating.
Satirizing decadence is less groundbreaking a move when that's really the only thing that Hollywood has to offer.
The intent from my understanding, I think I read it'd somewhere, is that the film attempts to capture that exact placeless extraterrestrial transient feeling of when you're so deep into a night or holiday that you don't really feel in any tangible sense of when it all started, and an end doesn't even feel like a possibility. When the present is all it feels as if there is, and anything beyond the dream/fantasy you're living in is weirdly incomprehensible.
That's the feeling that marks the nights you remember, and while the film goes other places, it certainly covers that aspect and is worth the watch for that alone.
LOOK AT ALL MY SHEIIIIIIT
I really liked it, only watched it once a few years back. I was high of shrooms tho so it was pretty amazing
>Sup Forums says it's kino
>tried to watch it and enjoy the kino
>muh dick was too distracting
What the fuck is wrong with you, Sup Forums? How the fuck did we get this deep into a sprang breeeaaak thread with the pudgens webm? You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
