Just the Legend of Korra. That's it really.

I never expected anything from superhero movies and large scale comics are inconsistent due to writers changing

its only a disappointment on Sup Forums

Fucking Homestuck

It was a huge disappointment for Viacom since it bombed in ratings and tanked a lucrative franchise.

Pretty sure it even made waves on tumblr for being so mediocre.

Your post.

the return of ren and stimpy

Sup Forums talks about this show so much I think they're secretly tsundere-fans of it.

Last arc of gravity falls

Young "Nu male" Justice

Iceman being forced to be gay

A:TLA was never profitable since Nick thought a movie by this generations biggest film making disappointment was a more sure-fire way to make money than fucking licensed t-shirts or something.

It's a fucking crime.

you sound stupid as fuck

...

Well.....Legend of Korra and that homosexual ending.

oh yeh, Iceman turning gay because Jean Grey is a Yaoi lover.

I´m not usually disappointed by much of the media I consume, but what comes to mind right now is the direction in which Kung Fu Panda 3 was taken. I loved the first two movies because not only were they funny, they were also interesting and dramatic. Especially the second one; that one was surprisingly serious for a movie titled Kung Fu Panda. So, I expected Kung Fu Panda 3 to be even darker or at least just as dark as the second one, but instead it got goofier and dumber, and not in such a funny way. The "pandas are lazy" joke was dead on arrival and it just kept coming back. Not that I didn't enjoy the movie; it had some pretty good action scenes and the animation looked fantastic. I was just disappointed in the tone and plot of the movie.

>what's the biggest Sup Forumsrelated disappointment you've ever had?
Star Wars Rebels: Season Two. Holy shit was that season mediocre as fuck, the first season was alright, but when they started bringing in the cameos from the movies and TCW series, it turned to shit.

Season three is ok, but I've just lost interest in the show as a whole. The worst part is, is you can't talk about the shows shortcomings in the General without being labeled a shitposter. They can't stand it when you call out poor writing or say that Filoni isn't as good as he used to be.

While being a great disappointment for essentially crashing and burning since it started, I'd say what are greater disappointments are the good or really great shows that haven't been able to continue.

New52 Men of War.
Lemire's Green Arrow.
Edmonson's Punisher.

Fucking homestuck.

Most things related to Adventure Time.

Sometimes I love reading the "reviews" (really just recapping and fanboy mouth breathing) on AV Club and seeing how far up their heads are in their asses.

Korra didn't disappoint me because I'm not a nostalgiafag with too high expectations.

>Korra didn't disappoint me because I have shit expectations

This is a meme
I certainly know this is not true.
Various friends that aren't that much in the internet communities didn't like it that much or not at all, even.

>Iceman being forced to be gay
This

AT once it was clear that the show was failing to do anything good with it's backstory (aka LORE) but wasn't going back to the style of seasons 1 and 2 either.

And also Steven Universe. A lot of wasted potential there.

>A lot of wasted potential there.

how so?

jesus christ, it wasn't about nostalgia, it was about shit tier hack writing especially after season 1 that ruined it.

>tumblr artists all dropped by season 2
>When all the most attractive characters appeared
>barely any Varrick/Bolin casting couch scenarios
Still a damn shame

I came here to post this

>Other than Korra, what's the biggest Sup Forumsrelated disappointment
your pic negates your point; it gave us an avalanche of top tier porn which in the end is all I think Bryke ever hoped for

>"Bobby…you're gay"
>"I'm not…I AM GAY NOW"

Korra was a disappointment. I loved pretty much everything except writing. Otherwise I've mostly just been surprised with shows, when I watch cartoons my expectations are already at the bottom so I don't get disappointed too often.

Maybe another one would be Steven Universe? It had quite interesting premise, but it's just lesbians lusting each other, crying and musical numbers. They miss out lot of potential.

the last issue the Ultimates that introduced Reed Richards as the Maker
literally up until the last issue, Reed has whooped everyone's ass, the Hulk is his bitch and for the most part he's been pretty interesting in his motivation. Now he's being petty with Stark, mustache twirling evil torturing, his city turns on him from talking 5 minutes with Tony's tumor ghost and here comes Sue Richards to take out the Hulk in one page and reduce Reed to a sobbing cuck and lose

Because Sup Forums doesn't gobble up Diversity or Representation mindlessly as does apparently everybody else in the US, and in doing so Sup Forums is one of the few remaining bastions untouched by liberalism in the world.

Star Vs.

What did he mean by this?

who was sworn in yesterday again?

The DCEU was probably my biggest Sup Forums related disappointment.

After BvS they will never will get my money again.

the only reason I enjoyed it was nostalgia. otherwise I wouldn't have sat through that garbage

>but m-m-muh liberalism!
Go back to your containment board, goyim.

>forgetting Shamalayan
>forgetting the wonky scheduling of both ATLA and LOK
Korra wasn't a great show but you don't have to revise history to make it worsel Nick has never treated the Avatar franchise well.

should have thought of this before

That Mignola doesn't like how his style looks animated, even though Screw On Head looked great and the animated Hellboy looked like dongs.

Batman V Superman

oh fuck lel

>Screw On Head looked great
it WAS great
what an ungrateful bastard

Post-2010 Marvel
The DCEU

>Nick has never treated the Avatar franchise well
and still ATLA was a success while LoK failed.

Also.. are you saying that shamalayadong's movie was bad 'because of nick'?

Bendis ruining every comic I love. As I have done so many times in the past Im hopping on the DC Train for a bit until Marvel recovers. I picked up Aquaman, any other recommendations? My Marvel tastes were Thor, Guardians, Fantastic Four, Agent Venom, and occasionally Young Avengers.

I read a tumblr comic about that once. A fujoshi had psychic powers but could only use them to force her ships to come true.

>korrafags are this desilusional

No, I'm saying Shamalyan killed a good deal of the franchise's earning potential.

LoK was technically a success. It gets decent reception outside of Sup Forums and its merchandise sells. Its ratings dropped and its bad writing was a sizeable factor, but executive meddling also has to be taken into account.

The Atomic Robot animated short
Batman: The Killing Joke Animated movie
BRAVE
Hallelujah Money
Despicable Me
Justice League 3001
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century

>Korra
>Homestuck
>Steven Universe
>Current Marvel and DC in their entireties

>Iceman forced to be gay
Less disappointing and more rage inducing.
Jean responding to Iceman's suggesting he might be Bi with "They say everyone is" was the moment I gave up on Bendis forever.

Man of Steel.

Thundercats

Captain America Civil war
Antman
Guardians of the galaxy

>but executive meddling also has to be taken into account.
Unless the writers say that Nickelodeon walked into their offices and said "Be sure to make it terrible and force things together," then executive meddling had no bearing on the atrocious writing and inane ideas.

>LoK was technically a success
it lost so many viewers that it had to be pulled out of air

>It gets decent reception outside of Sup Forums and its merchandise sells
the only 'good reception' it gets are from places that don't care about story. Ign, and some other sites were literally saying "has lesbians. 10/10". And also, if you're talking about 'reception', what about the MILLIONS of people that stop watching it? it's the ones that DON'T talk about LoK that you have to account for. About merchandise, i doubt it sells that well considering the time it took for them to come out, and the narrow audience.

>executive meddling also has to be taken into account
the thing is, even in ATLA executive meddling was an issue, and they still turned out okay. That's because they Prepared for it, unlike Bryke in LoK. They did something they were not prepared to make and they are to blame for that, and not the people that gave them the opportunity.

I never watched Kora. What made it so bad?

Main hero fights for status quo and all the interesting villains are self-contained in their seasons, even if they shouldn't. A lot of them should have huge effects on the world, but the whole reality just forgets them as soon as the seasons change. Your suspension of belief will be shattered the longer you watch the show. They nailed everything else, but the writing is just awful. Maybe it's corporate meddling, maybe not. Whatever it is, it doesn't work.

BvS. I soooo wanted a great BvS movie. I saw the trailers and started to lose hope, but I thought, "Hey, it may not be perfect, but so long as it's fun, I'll be happy."

Fuck, I still haven't recovered.

He said aside from Korra, smartass

I was going to post this but then I saw this post and now I don't need to but I'm going to anyway because HOLY SHIT FUCK EVERYTHING AFTER THAT RETCON.

Dude, we all saw Man of Steel. We knew what was coming. Anyone that thought BvS had a chance of being good was deluding themselves.

But Man of Steel itself, with those god tier trailers and all the hype in the world, and me being a huge Superman mark... I still haven't let that go. God, that crushed me.

Adventure Time,
C'mon grab your friends,
And go to very distant lands.
With Vamp Marceline and
PB the Gum,
It's no longer fun,
Adventure Time!

I don't see how, that movie was great. Blew Pacific Rim out of the fucking water

God what a waste of time

Champions and what Marvel is doing with there "legacy" characters.

Man of Steel was good, though.

...

this isn't Sup Forums

>get switched to streaming only.

Ya I'm sure it was just \co\.

The series finale of Danny Phantom(might as well toss season 3 into that, fuck, maybe the even the whole series). How the hell do you have the conflict between Danny and Vlad swell into a roaring boil only for it to go out on such a wet fart of an ending?

The Flash, CW. It wasn't a great show by any means but Tom Cavanagh was an inspired Thawne and perfectly brought across what a terrifying figure he's supposed to be. Then as it was building up to something great it just ended up with nothing.

Same with Zoom in S2. All sorts of build up, fucking nothing in the end.

All of marvel. I was pretty much only an xmen fan. Also Spidey but I only read him in Sup Forums storytimes.

...

Season 2 never.

Nobody said it meddling had to due with writing, just with ratings.

>it lost so many viewers that it had to be pulled out of air
Which was after they changed timeslots a bunch of times and accidentally released episodes online several weeks in advance.

>the only 'good reception' it gets are from places that don't care about story
Plenty of non-biased sites gave it good reviews, not just tumblr-tier sites. Keyword here being good. 7 or 8/10 is still good.

>About merchandise, i doubt it sells that well considering the time it took for them to come out, and the narrow audience.
DVDs sold pretty well I believe.

I didn't even like the show that much and thought it was a pretty big disappointment compared to ATLA, but the hateboner for it is ridiculous.

I never held any hope for LoK in the first place. The original was so good and the ending wrapped everything so perfectly that there was no way a sequel could be on par and not shit all over the continuity.

Homestuck might still be up there for me. Considering that it actually had me 100% until the retcon shitstorm. I don't think that I've ever seen anything drop the ball quite that hard in my fucking life. There were thousands of ways he could have built up to the ending without rendering everything totally fucking pointless and proceeding to derail every character and plot-thread at speeds that would make both Qicksilver and The Flash shit their pants.

Honestly, though I'm going to go with Crossed. I went in expecting a manic, hyper-fucked catharsis ride and only ended up with a boring "shock-fest" that often dived into the pretentious deep end. Good god, it's like if Jack Ketchem wrote The Walking Dead.

What did you expect Crossed to be? It was nothing but torture porn from the get go. What else would it end as?

>Which was after they changed timeslots a bunch of times and accidentally released episodes online several weeks in advance

Bullshit, it lost ratings all throughout season 2.

>Plenty of non-biased sites gave it good reviews, not just tumblr-tier sites.

Post them, because I doubt any of them actually highlighted the actual flaws the show had.

>DVDs sold pretty well I believe

No it did not, the DVD sales were abysmal. The fucking Flinstones/WWE crossover sold better then it.

But WWE/Flintstones was amazing.

Glad I'm not the only one. Man of Steel just made me feel sick after watching it.

I know it is, hell I bought a copy by it's absurd concept alone. It deserved to BTFO Korra, at least it was fun.

...

>Let's make Superman cool and edgy because we can't be marvel
>Let's also sprinkle in an annoying amount of Jesus imagery and viola
>Perfect

Kung Fu Panda 2 is a masterpiece

I don't know, I guess I kind of figured that it was so stupid a concept that it couldn't take itself seriously. I really shouldn't have been surprised, though.

I took one look at it and knew it was crap. How did you stand reading all of it?
