Nah. He's just happy to have a girl who isn't looking for money or arm candy. Marinette actually behaves like a caring girl when she isn't spazzing out.

That's...Still not okay.

He's too nice for that

Who'd want to restrain himself from this?

Once she feels comfortable around him she won't act crazy anymore - well, not any more so than baseline Marinette, which is cute in small doses.

It's the worry about getting together with him while balancing the whole Ladybug/Cat Noir thing that drives her nuts. Once that's settled, she'll just her normal, lovable goofy self.

I would be pretty horrified at her stealing my phone or trashing a classmate's dreams because she is too afraid/self-centered to just arrange a date..

>ywn see Marionette get committed into a mental asylum

I would like to see her obsessive behavior have negative consequences.

Yes

If it were real life I feel he'd have a right to be concerned about her behavior, but considering that he has to put up with Chloe all the time, Marinette's probably a welcome reprieve.

Adrien has abandonment issues stemming from his mother's disappearance. If anything, Marinette's attention will probably appeal to him.

This.

Her lack of consequences for her stalker tendencies is probably the biggest single problem I have with the show so far.

It crossed the line when she disrespected all the work Max put into that game so she could spend time with Adrien.

>competition to find out the best players in the class
>she's the best player in the class
I definitely agree that she crosses some lines, but that episode felt strange in its moral.
Maybe it's because I'm dumb, but I wasn't sure if it was about Max losing gracefully or that she should've not stepped up.
Because her reasons for being in the contest were legit. If it were real life, there wouldn't be a reason for her not to be. The ep kind of framed it in the context that it was for selfish reasons, but it felt weird.

This show has bad writing in general. That episode was worse than normal.

It is bizarre that a year of training and he is still beaten by a casual that does not even care about the competition. Her motives are what infuriate me for a variety of reasons including the fact that this episode perpetuates the stereotype that pretty, feminine girls only participate in hardcore gaming events to pick up guys.

Also, Max did lose gracefully. He acknowledged he lost in public and went to be by himself. Yes, he was still upset, but that is to be expected. You can't control your feelings but you can control your conduct with others. Unless there is a magical butterfly man running loose. Then, just feeling bad at all, even if you are otherwise controlling your behavior, is enough to become a mindslave supervillain.

Honestly, the problem is that the way Hawkmoth's powers work end up destroying the moral half of the time. Or at least, making it more confused. You could argue that this is to make Ladybug and Chat Noir more heroic by "saving" these people form akumatization, which appears to be the shows actual stance, but it is so far removed from reality at that point that it barely works as a metaphor. Which means the audience has troubles relating to it. Which is a problem from a writing perspective.

Slightly off-topic, this show sparked me to create a comic to address some of the flaws and cliches of the magical girl genre, would anyone be interested if I made a thread for it?

This is Sup Forums, you don't need permission to start a thread. Just interest to keep it alive. If the comic is interesting/good enough, your thread will reach bump limit. If not, it will be archived shortly. That is the way of this place.

>perpetuates the stereotype that pretty, feminine girls only participate in hardcore gaming events to pick up guys
This is a thing? Huh.
I guess I wouldn't know, considering how repulsive I am to women. Anyway...

I find her motives pretty irritating too.
I kind of liked the reveal that she and Adrien got off on the wrong foot, but it was his kindhearted nature that actually charmed her into liking him, but the way she tends to go about trying to win him over comes off as extremely petty and self-centered most of the time.

People like it due to the character designs.

I know.
Pic related.

Thats not even a stereotype

I have never heard this show before and decided to google info about. The french have a funny way of animating a half Chinese half french girl cause she looks 100% white.

>casual
>has both the steam and the console version of the game
>casual
???

Eh, it's unclear just what Marinette's gaming habits are given that the subject is never brought up again. Just like all of the other one episode subjects.

She will just become a superpossessive girlfriend.

nah Marinette probably isn't even the worst of his stalkers

besides it won't be long before she forgets about Adrien and end up hanging pictures of Chat all over her walls instead

i want to protect this smile

>That is supposed to be half Chinese
Are French animators retarded?

you really don't know many Asians do you

I actually knew a half French half Japanese girl in high school but I only knew she was Asian at all because I was told, then again I knew other half Asians that I was surprised to learn were only half

It can apparently be very hit and miss with some of the more distinctive Asian genes, its less clear than say someone who is half black half white where the mixing is obvious

I really look forward to both how she gets the Bee Miraculous and just what she does with the first day, because its gonna be great

Isn't this Mega Man Star Force but like terrible?

So Alya is best girl right?

> Let's discuss IRL social politics and mores for a cartoon
Please go fuck yourself

She is least crazy.

>least crazy
>only one in all of Paris smart enough to identify Adrien as Chat
>sexiest costume

Truly best girl

I'm pretty sure Gabriel is the only one who actually figured it out

like she edited a pic to make Adrien look like Chat Noir and still seems to have failed to put it together

I wish this series had more than akuma to deal with.

there are worse villains in the show than Hawkmoth and his akumas

Nah. Gimme robots and vampires

when is the next season starting already

Mid to late May IIRC
inb4 it gets pushed back

it was supposed to be January

Fix this

Why is Ladybug so weak? Even street level heroes could kick her ass.

I know a couple of half asian people who you absolutely couldn't tell they were a halfie unless they told you. Genetics play a weird gamble like that

Requiring that Ladybug and Cat actually be physically intimidating would mean that there would be too much heavy violence, and little girls don't like heavy violence. Also the budget is huge as it is, so making the fights less intense may help cut costs.

Girls totally love violence, just more upfront and personal rather than crazy spectacle.

Yeah seriously, my girlfriend told me about how her and her sister loved bashing each other over the heads with lightsabers growing up and how she's seeing the same enthusiasm in her niece when she plays with a toy mjornir.

It is guys not knowing how girls actually think.

Face it you fucking faggots! This show will never actually have any of the subplots resolved because its a kid's show. The show will get cancelled and maybe have a last minute half assed garbage resolution to everything.

vimeo.com/162027837

Look at the umbrella scene. LOOK AT IT. The subtle facial cues, the pacing, the timing of the musical instruments. Imagine any kid that grows up and watches all this again, appreciating the quality of the scene.

The reveal of evil butterfly man will be lackluster, and the reveal of the main characters' identities to each other will be poorly done.
It will all be a tremendous waste of potential.

hold me

That's what is so frustrating, there is clearly effort put into this, but it seems that the desire to get picked up made it sacrifice a lot of what made it special...And well good.

It feels like they are too afraid to do anything risky or deep, they could take many of these character flaws and actually make a show that prepares children for the real world rather than just have half-hearted messages that the kids already know.

naptillmorning.tumblr.com/post/145736239928/a-fun-reveal-scenario

It will never go down like this. It'll be shit instead.

>inb4 tumblr kill urself yes yes i know the site is filled with sjw garbage just check out the comic you fucking tards

Then Bee and Ladybug fight to see who is going to reform him.

I like their relationship but Marinette takes it waay too far sometimes, after all, she's been shown to actually have a huge weekly schedule of exactly where Adrien will be at any given time, god knows how long she's had to have stalked him for her to figure all that shit out, but IMO it goes over the point of her being cute and awkward around him.

How do these stalkerish types tend to be if they actually get a relationship?

>Implying Bee won't try to fuck LB.

we will see I hope things will change a bit now that they work with Netflix instead of Nick now

Kwamis are terribly underused. I want Ticki to interact with Chat Noir.

But isn't it just an adaptation of the original French version?

Her stalker tendencies have consequences that she has to deal with all the time. The structure of season one doesn't lend itself well to lasting consequences, but she spends a lot of time and effort trying to fix problems caused by her unhealthy obsession.

Because if she could just physically overpower her opponents, there would be no need for the clever use of summoned seemingly random everyday items to solve the problem. That is kind of her thing.

Although, bear in mind that she has strength, dexterity and reflexes far in excess of what is possible for a regular human. It's just that her opponents usually do as well.

She hasn't seemed to learn from it, and the show still plays this off as adorable.

Never seen it, her acrobatics don't seem too different than say Daredevil or Blackwidow or Robin.

>How do these stalkerish types tend to be if they actually get a relationship?
Great sex but otherwise hell on earth after a few weeks.

Humans in Ladybug's earth are weaker than most other superhero worlds.

So exactly to what extent are akumatized people in control of their actions?

Santa Claws didn't attack Adrien, except when Adrien was Cat Noir and he didn't recognize him.

should i watch this show? does it have good waifus and porn?

Hey, this show rips off the villains from Randy Cunningham.

Who hasn't been akumatized yet?

That's clearly the Miraculous Ladybug, we're talking about Marinette here. Come on, stay on topic.

It has fun waifus, but you might not like most of them after awhile because most of the characters in this show are annoying.

>Black Widow
>Acrobatic like Daredevil or Robin

Widow is overused and not fun. She has generic comic spy powers.

So is anyone with a miraculous immune to akumatization?

Crap writers don't want to bother building fleshed out or interesting worlds. The premise is already wearing thin and could use something else other than "Akumatized person of the week".

Haven't they noticed a pattern that everyone who gets akumatized was really upset just before it happened?

So if anyone sees Marinette or Adrien getting really upset and they don't get akumatized, shouldn't they notice something is up?

No because everyone in this world is an idiot.

>This show has bad writing in general.
It certainly induces some seriously troubling fan fics.

>People like it due to the character designs.
Pic. related.
It is all a plot to turn teenagers into fetishists.

Nathaniel and that photo-guy tried to do their own thing but Hawk Moth inflicted pain on them so they'd be forced to comply.

>It certainly induces some seriously troubling fan fics.
And some good ones.

>Never seen it, her acrobatics don't seem too different than say Daredevil or Blackwidow or Robin.
Have you seen her acrobatics? Some of them may be doable for a skilled athlete as singular actions or as part of a practiced routine, but the way she leaps, somersaults, twists her body in mid-air, etc. in reaction to her opponents' attacks is not humanly possible. Not to mention her mere feats of strength and toughness. A regular human being can not pick up 100+kg guys in power armour and throw them clear across the room, use their fellow super heroes as projectile weaponry, chase down cars on foot, leap across 10-20m gaps between buildings and land running, jump several meters up in the air, land safely on their feet when jumping off multi-story buildings, land nimbly on their hands, vault to their feet and walk away unharmed from hits that send them flying, etc.

Ladybug and Chat Noir both have clearly superhuman strength, speed, agility, toughness and reflexes.

Yeah cuz their world is relatively mundane, so many other superhero series have humans who can do that shit no problem.

In Dragonball, some humans are strong enough to break mountains in half. Does that mean mountain-breaking is not a superhuman feat of strength?

Dragonball is on the extreme end, but they should be more impressive than like Batman.

except if you were to actually consider the things Batman does you would realize the only actual explanation is that he must have super powers

because even if he is unimpressive compared to Superman or other people with super powers if you look at what he does its actually super human

Like your argument is that they aren't super human enough despite the fact that the super human strength and agility aren't even their primary powers anyway

Batman can bench press roughly world record weights under far less than ideal conditions and survive hits from superman and the like. Don't use him as your benchmark for what is or isn't superhuman.

Sounds like a fun episode, honestly. She notices he's unavailable sometimes, disappears often, and is too caught up in being insecure to realize Adrien is Chat Noir, and instead chalks it up to him having a girl on the side.

Such as?

Using Dragonball as an example of a power level scale that makes sense is not a good idea.

They can't interact with them once they transform them. Maybe that will change once they discover each others identities.

these two are way too cute together

Hopefully.

I need all the lewd marinette you have.

if wish there was some lewd Alya or Chloe

>Widow is overused
Not used enough you mean

I really like that scene

It really does set up the show perfectly

>girls don't like action
Action was what got me into A:TLA when it aired. My sister and I would pretend to have these bending battles. Good times.

*violence

Or a boyfriend. Gotta get those Tumblr-bucks if you wanna succeed in this media market.

Let's see

>The teachers (Bustier and Mendolev? or whatever the science teacher's name is)
>The Principal, Damocles I think
>The Mayor.

I'm seriously surprised he hasn't been akumatized. Maybe they're saving it for when Chloe become the Bee hero. She has a soft spot for her Dad and that would definitely bring out her more heroic nature.
>Marinette's parents

Might make for better writing. You know, explore Marinette beyond "Le Quirky Teenage Girl!"
>Gabriel Agreste
I think we know that's not going to happen. Unless he gets his Miraculous stolen by a "real" villain who decides to improvise an akuma-driven escape. Would make for a nice Season Finale. But I doubt we'll get that.

>The Gorilla and Nathalie

Once more, a window into Adrien's life. We need more of those.

>The Agreste Family Chef

He was mentioned as existing in the Origins episodes. Hasn't actually been seen. Might not happen due to being too similar to Kung Food.

>A bunch of random civilians who only show up to be akumatized and never appear again

A staple for this show. We'll see plenty of these I'm sure.

>Other parents and adults who have showed up but not really mattered

Alya's mom, Manon's mom, etc. Pretty self explanatory.
