Crime isn't that crazy in most of the shitty surburbs. It's just that there are no jobs in there so a lot of people sling drugs and stolen cars instead. If you live in a shit surburb near Paris, the only way you'll get a job is in Paris itself. But when you send your resume they see your home address and they toss it in the trash. Life isn't insanely hard but you're pretty much stuck where you are unless your parents have money.

auraient le droit de faire venir leurs femmes, et tous les fils qui
naîtraient de ces esclaves humiliés et de leurs épouses brutalement
déportées deviendraient français !
