I kind of like this. We left Strange from Hickman's New Avengers run having sold his soul and completely gone off the deep end, and then that was all ignored. This does feel like we're revisiting that interpretation somewhat.

Or maybe Wanda isn't needed this time. It's not unheard of, Chthon doesn't have an "only Wanda stories" clause. He's been used in Dr Strange off the top of my head, probably Blade & Werewolf by Night too. It'll sort itself out.
