I don't know much about trains, mate. But i know a really good one about planes.

>girl gets taken away somewhere else to another train presumably
>time skip 8 or so years to boy playing with few other kids still on train
>same girl appears again and they hang out for a little bit and develop basic feelings
>boy moves this time to another train with reluctance
>few years pass by and girl having been settled into this train and hanging with boys old friends moves to a new train
>new train has boy on it but he wants nothing to do with girl and neither really remember the other
>they both leave their parents and end up on a new train living several cars from each other
>slowly develop relationship
>major crash happens and train evacuated
>separated once again
>lives go on while both on separate trains
>eventually the train stops
>everyone visibly confused
>boy and girl get off at the same time
>doors to both train facing each other

The train symbolizes life moving on whether you like it or not and the train swapping is different times their lives. Something sentimental like that at least.
