Because it just felt like a Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to me and i actually gave a shit about Asgard, his Warrior pals and a few other things and it was just all washed away for jokes.

It's not even depth, the bare minimum was atleast present in the first two Thor movies, there wasn't some random comic relief quipping his heart out when Thors mother died or laughing at Thor being unable to lift his hammer in the first two movies.

Where did i say i didn't like the 'fun' elements. I just think there were more than enough without compromising the otherwise consistent emotional core.

Odin dying and leaving his 2 sons to clean up his mess wasn't really emotional since he just dies after Thor and Loki find him after giving a few speech about his fuck ups with Hela.
Hulk finally returning to his Banner form after seeing Black Widow's recorded video inside the quinjet was kind of sad.
Skurge's sacrifice at the end of the movie was kind of meh since the movie doesn't really make you care about his character at all.

First one is: The Asgardian refugee ship travels to Earth, but then a giant space ship (presumably Thanos's?), way bigger than the refugee ship appears from the background.
Second one is the joke one where The Grand Master pops out from a piece of building (presumably part of the destruction after Thor's escape) out into the trash heap Thor first landed on Sakaar, the same group of man-eating aliens who tried to eat Thor wanted to eat the Grand Master.

the hair isn't what makes comics thor. it's the fact that he's a supernatural god with magical/god powers. the first movie changed that and made the asgardians technologically advanced aliens. so this movie's thor is not the same thor as the long-haired thor in your comics.
