Unsounded

>Well, this isn't weird at all!

>We'll turn to our protagonists next scene by the way, kids. I know some of you are chomping at the bit.

Is this the first copper we've seen?

FUCKIN ALD

No, at least one of the guards who beat Duane as his punishment for punching Bodie was a copper.

Why does no one ever listen to the person who's makes the most sense?

Who are you referring to as "making the most sense"? Cause if it's Ufal, we know for a fact everything he's said is a load of horse shit.

Why hello there Mark Antoinette how are you doing?

Why yes I'd love some cake!

I think it's Sonorie. She saw right through Hetr's bullshit.

She seems reasonable.

So she's definitely going to suffer a great deal in the coming chapters, right?

She's likable and reasonable. Has a young kid.

I'm almost certain.

That's an Ald? FUCKING ALDS! HIDE YOUR SOUL OR THEYLL DRAIN IT FROM THE KHERT!

But seriously, what's up with this decadence?

Here he is, what a smug doucheface.

The queen has a soft spot for hot Aldish men, it's why Quigley got refuge in Cresce for a while.

Can you imagine how perfectly a copper has perfected punching people in the face? Centuries of time to practice. Potentially years of actual time spent in the act of punching. A perfect curve, and the proper application of the knuckles to cartilage.

What I'm saying is that Copper probably knew how to throw a punch more painful than anyone living has ever known

She's covering her bases.

The Queen is no fool and she may need a fall guy for this mess and Hetr is the most likely suspect.

The fact that he actually is guilty is entirely coincidental.

So is there just one Ald or is the queen trying to "catch 'em all"?

He's just a man who takes satisfaction in his job.

HAHA
Coppered!

I'm vaguely recalling the line we got in Quiggley's backstory conversation between Elka and Toma that the Queen has a soft spot for handsome Aldish defectors. So who knows?

Given the glares old Roger here is getting, though, I can't imagine her having more than one Aldish husband is going to be going over well. In fact, this probably explains a lot of the coup. Sure, there's actual policy stuff I imagine is driving the leaders, but nothing gets the base fired up like some good old "they aren't fucking the right people."

The metal glove probably helps, too.

>that open contempt from the guards for the technicolor northerner
No wonder Bell has the whole military dancing his mutinous tune.

I love the sour looks that the guards are giving Roger the Copper in panel 4.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS ALDISH INFILTRATOR

KEEP CRESCE SAFE

Wonder how much fun Ashley had drawing Ufal?

I noticed how animated and expressive he was, too. He's fun to look at; I hope he was fun to draw.

>SHE MARRIED AN ALD

Some real squash and stretch shit going on here. Stands out a lot from the usually more subdued expressions. It really became apparent last page, though we've only gotten three pages on him and most of it was last page. I think this scene is almost done, or is, apparently, so we won't see any more for awhile, if ever. Shame.

Maybe more than one!

Cresce's young men are dying on the battlefield while the queen takes aldish dick. geez, i sure wonder why she's unpopular.

He reminds me of that guy from Mulan

Might be a way to show he's a bit of an actor.

There was this chick who was probably a copper, but her eyes aren't as obvious.

How many husbands does she have total, Aldish or no?

This is a very important question.
Somebody activate the Ashleysignal.

Roger is number 3.

Her first husband is the Queen's age, her first love, her confidante, now a portly older Crescian gentleman who loves painting and the theatre. Husband number 2 is a plain-faced middle aged Crescian noble - in fact an uncle of Captain Toma's, by marriage - who was brought into the Sonorie family years ago to gain the House of Toma's support in naming the Queen's sister next in line for the throne.

Thank you! Do you know if polygamy is a Crece thing or just a royal thing? I think most of the Crecians we've seen so far are Shartian whores.

It's a Crescian thing, but it has to be approved. Your first spouse is at your discretion but a second or third has to be petitioned for, and it's usually pursued by noble families in order to add desirable spouses into their lines, or by cooperative farming families to keep from splitting land - which farming families are allowed to own and pass down - among too many children. Theoretically you can marry multiple times for love but it doesn't happen as often as you might imagine in this society. Humans are insecure.

Thank God this isn't a world with Crecian Tenchi-s running around.

>that romance chart
This is why all romance stories are shallow love triangle trash.

I wonder how adultery is viewed in Cresce.

COPPERED

Remember this is an Aldishman who abandoned his sacred duty to Vits Council, to his people, his ghers and even his very family to run off and cavort with this Crescian whore-queen.

Probably the way it was in ancient rome. Everybody's doin it.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. We don't really know his story yet. Maybe his family was total motherfuckers. He's only 33 so he was pretty young when that war went down. Maybe he was scared when he saw their insurrection wasn't working and he had to flee for his life. FUck, I really want to know more about this guy.

Unless he is a spy in deep-cover with one of his duties being to distract the Queen by fucking her to the point of exhaustion every night.

What is there to know? The Foi-Hellicks rose up in heretical opposition to Vits and the land of Alderode and were righteously punished for it, save for this coward.

Some things are beyond even the Aldish.

That's what I think, yeah. So the problem is probably partly just that she actually MARRIED this guy, rather than keeping him as a side-piece.

>even the queen's own guards revile this guy to the point they can't hide it

Do you think you can tell the difference if you're Aldish between being in the dammakhert and outside it? Like an itch on your skin? Maybe only for wrights.

Now imagining all these cheap penny dreadful novels sold, probably illegally, in Cresce and Alderode (and probably printed in Sharteshane) which are like erotic thrillers with titles like "SPY IN A PLATOON OF PLATS" "IN THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF THE CRESCIAN QUEEN" etc. You know, stuff that both vilifies and sexualises the Other.

Duane used to read the shit out of that exact kind of trash, and has a Crescian kink because of it. Which just makes him hate them more.

Reminder that Cresce is responsible for everything bad in the setting and that Sonorie did everything wrong.

If there are commission slots in the next Kickstarter I might ask for some smut.

There needs to be more Unsounded porn.

The only one that does anything to me is Sette and I refuse thoses desires, she's too pure.

Which characters do you most want to see get it on?

Fuck off Starfish. You better stay dead.

Source?

Elka/Toma is my OTP.

>alderode intentionally fucked up their own genetics with curse magic just so aldish qts would run the gamut of milk-pale to the perfect shade of brown girl
fukken geniuses

fukken legends

My choice of commission would literally be NTR for you then senpai.

What would you commission?

Initially went to alive!Duane and Elka, just thinking of the characters I find most attractive.

Elka/Lemuel drunken hatefuck.

...okay, let's actually make that alive!Duane x Elka x Lemuel.

Why are Alds so handsome?

Anything with the Lady.

Anadyne and timofey

> timofey
Finest of tastes right here.

>Which characters do you most want to see get it on?
Duane and Elka
It would just be them screaming propaganda from their respective countries while hatefucking eachother.

I legitimately would love to see bromance between Quigley and Duane. They're both so lonely and broken, and could do a lot to better each other's life. I know Duane wants to be friends, Quigley just needs to get over his bullshit and let it happen.

What's is exactly the deal with all the folk whose skin is colored towards the brown colors of the spectrum?

Serious question, I got so fucking lost after the blind kid and the run-away black kid flee on the green monster

Brown people are incredibly common in webcomics to the point where they outnumber non brown people at least 10 to 1.

I didn't ask for real life facts.

I was asking if someone had a TL;DR of what is up with their civilization

They are brown and don't like other mostly non brown people, who in turn don't like brown people, also they really like dogs.

2 big players in our plot.

Alderode and Cresce
Cresce is a communist monarchy, and Alderode is a Theocratic Oligarchy with a magically created/enforced caste system.

The two countries hate each other. The Crescians hate the Alds for allowing the Ssaelit religion to flourish and for their creepy magic castes. The Alds hate the Crescians because their of their totalitarian foreign policy, cause their commies, and because they are a Matriarchal society.

Both of their governments are royally fucked up.

Is that Bastion?

Cresce is predominantly black. Most of its neighbours are at least brown. Some of the Aldish castes have a darker skin tone too.

One of Unsounded's more interesting features is the reverse stereotyping. I loved when the Crescian guards gossiped about Plats having milk for blood, and that one old Crescian fuck called Duane "long nose."

Fuckin' crackers.

That is why they are the best civ in Unsounded.

One day I'll get off my ass and catch up on this.

Sette

I dunno that reverse stereotyping is exactly the way I'd put it but sure.

Cresce's women are also in the military. I think its a compulsive two years for every citizen. We saw some lady construct pilots a few pages ago.

DELETE THIS

>The queen has a soft spot for hot Aldish men

Hell, who doesn't?

I prefer canon smut. Though I'm ninety-nine percent sure his wife is married to his brother now.

aw be fair, they might just hate him for being such a preening dandy twat

>bearded Duane

I was not ready

Yeah, Leysa has no taste.

... ...
*fapfapfap*
Someone commission more of this from Cope.

Does Ashley not like beards? I don't even remember many characters in the story who have one, maybe the Ripa.
I am not counting whatever Starfish sported.

Murkoph has a pretty healthy chin puff. Toma's got a teeeensy little patch of fuzz under his lip.

Well I mean there's that one shopkeep early on who was reading a similar book about two-toes...

Speaking of, are we ever going to learn more about the lizard people? I thought they were some kind of fallen or conquered race treated as servants and lesser folk (they don't seem to have a land of their own, at least), but it's never been clear on how they got to that.

They were primitive and lived in cave systems IIRC and they got the native American treatment.

I think her comics work has her locked out of commissions these days, but sometimes it gets offered as a pledge drive bonus.

Don't mind me, just using that smutty B&W image to test this new AI coloring thing
