there's something about this comic I can't quite put my finger on. It's unnerving, because it sort of feels like a kids comic but not quite. The main character uses a Yo-yo and a slingshot.

...

There's definitely some odd psychological subtext. Check out tomorrow's issues if you've never read Madman before. The "oddness" becomes much more explicit, and we get color.

Madman is a very unique book still love it to death. The comic is not at it's best here it's when it goes full silver age retro that comic comes alive. While we get a bit here and there is was trying to fit in with every other indie book at the time.

Yeah this first miniseries re-surprises me with how odd it is everytime i read it.

but there's some really great paneling. Allred has already worked that out.

Not the best but I will say it's a worthwhile read and Allred improves by leaps and bounds. still dig the little madman at the bottom who does the batusi.
