>tfw rolled silent-era years three times in a row
Have seen barely anything from 1919, I would recommend Back Stage which is a pretty good Buster Keaton/Fatty Arbuckle short
>Have seen barely anything from 1919
>pretty good Buster Keaton short
You can choose to watch Griffith, but you choose not to watch trash.
hello again my friends
what does this mean I don't understand
>A libshit and an aspie
Starting to see a trend
What do you think of DW Griffith
He's a hack
ill have you know im not a libshit or an aspie
How is he a hack
>5 stars to communist propaganda pipe dreams
confirmed
Captain Sum Ting Wong
Abel Gance and Fritz Lang are better
Wi Tu Lo
I haven't seen enough of his films to form any meaningful opinion
But birth of a nation is very impressive
Oh so you're a brainlet.
Ho Lee Fuk
Bang Ding Ow
They're far more modern than Griffith with his boring ass tedious flicks
Oh so you're aggressively compensating for your shit taste
>5 == 4.5
megaautist confirmed illiterate and retarded
Not an argument. Griffith never made a shot as powerful as this
why does abel pants love goofy faces so much?

*kinos on ya*
>iris partially covering a bleach-white screaming face
No skill whatsoever. But nice appropriated technique. Pales in quantum leaps when compared to pic-related.
Because he knows plebs eat'em up like his shoddy haphazard cutting.
...
What makes Birth of a Nation a film? o you, by any chance, have any source where Griffith self-describes his work as film?
For many critics and scholars — myself among them — D. W. Griffith’s Intolerance is the greatest film ever made. A century later we are as close to its subject as we are distant from its art. Political specifics, moral arguments, and movie styles may look different today, yet the only real difference is Griffith’s still-daring ingenuity, which calls for a more open-minded reception than in our simplistic habits we are accustomed to: It calls for an optimistic, united popular audience, which Griffith took for granted. When Intolerance premiered on September 5, 1916, its opening intertitles introduced silent-movie viewers to an extraordinary narrative device: “Our play is made up of four separate stories, laid in different periods of history, each with its own set of characters.” Employing a prologue and two acts, Griffith called it “a sun-play,” marked by florid melodramatics developed from Emersonian Transcendentalism, which film scholar Bill R. Scalia has described as “calling for an original American literature,” for “poets with the ability to ‘see’ past the material, apparent world to the world of eternal forms, which shaped nature in accordance with a divine moral imperative. Through this connection, man-as-poet would discover God in himself.”
Go back to the Kurosawa pic. Go back to having Napoleon, Metropolis, and an action flick at the top of your "canon"
why would i do that? i don't like those things anymore
No i don't have that
Intolerance is shit. Malick's late films are better.
Handheld>static tripod
Oh that's right. You suck up to me 24/7 now.
Lloyd Bacon>Damien Chazelle
>Bacon
>named after Leddit: The Food
i love chazelle!
Bruce hasn't even watched Intolerance but he has it in his favorites
>You suck up to me 24/7 now.
>You have bad taste
please make up your mind and pick 1 (one).
why would I put movies you despise on my list if i suck up to you 24/7?
Bruce has Intolerance in his favorites but gave bad scores to all Griffith's best work.
Ruse has an even watched end tolerance butt he ass hit in his gay fritz
gay Fritz Lang likes long dong
Why'd you put Intolerance at number 1
Why'd you change the list
Why'd you change the kurosawa pic

sad to watch
genes don't change. you have it at 3 right here put it down to 50 like a good slave

But he has Griffith at number 1 in his list
damn mega autist getting absolutely BTFO
sad to watch
All of this talking in circles is going nowhere, megaautist. Let me know when you get some new material
Explain why Birth and Intolerance belong at the top now when they weren't before. You do have a brain, don't you? You don't just arbitrarily change your list to appease somebody over the internet, do you? You don't just change your mind when someone you perceive is smarter than you says something, do you? :(
Let me know when you get some original taste to fit that original name
what are some films
Cute. Keep it up for my amusement.
Why did you stop?
see and i don't like having to repeat myself
this conquest is futile, my friend, please stop wasting my time and try doing something a little more productive
Why don't you write reviews
because I'm too dumb to and I don't know why I like things. I just pick things that look cool and make me look smarter than i'll ever be
Why don't you have a letterboxd account
Keep it up simpleton
wheres a good place to watch bad movie?
But you don't write reviews!
torrent
