>coalburner can't figure out why people don't like her
When will they learn?

Is Walky actually African American?

not as much as his sister

This is definitely a healthy relationship

I'm at least glad that we're on track to deal with this issue, I was wondering how long we'd be getting the run around.

It has been just over 2 years without much movement on the issue...

Biracial.

Also, I guess we know why she hadn't sobered up yet, so he could use the gag of being sobered up by shocking news. The boozles were getting smaller so I guess she was almost done being buzzed anyway.

He's a quarter black.

But like said, he's not as black as his identical twin sister.

That might seem confusing but don't worry, it's actually very simple: Walky is whiter because he's more naturally intelligent and well-behaved, while she's blacker because she's crass, unintelligent, inclined to criminal activity, etc.

What? You think that's RACIST? No, see, it can't be. Willis is a paragon of progressivism. You're probably just transphobic.

He's an octoroon.

Not quite. He is a quarter black. His mom is white, and his dad is half-black.

>not good at math
>hair becomes more black

you racist mother fucker

So when Walky fails the entire course is he going to have a big-ass afro?
Because I honestly couldn't tell he was black until somebody mentioned it in one of these threads.

>Becky's chin
>Becky's hair
Did Carol murder Becky and dye her hair so she could make sure Joyce was staying godly in college?

No, he just skips. He last pretended to have to go to the bathroom, then ran as far away from the building as possible before looping back around to catch the end of the class as everybody was leaving.

He did not go anywhere specific, mind you. He just ran blindly in one or more directions until he had to start running back the other way.

I just want a blackification arc.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Willis would be pleased with himself for being SO clever.

...

Carla has friends?

isn't she friends with deaf lesbo and fat flip?

fuck i stared at the last couple panels too long and now i can't unsee the eyes as a pair of some sort of melting slime monstrosities

Mute, not deaf.
Which one are you calling fat?

They don't seem to like her very much.

he's mixed race
that's why he told dorothy that he's not half the person she is

This comic always bothered me. Who the hell buys a six pack of shitty beer to split with four people? What's the point?

Poor college students?

I'm more concerned about Sal's eye.

Carla's the only one with a useable id, and it's not like she's a millionaire, or that they could pool their money together and give it to her to buy more.

perfectly logical

>it's not like she's a millionaire
Eh, she kinda is.

Pretty sure that post was entirely sarcastic.

My guess is that Willis didn't decide she was a millionaire until the Mary/Carla arc.

Oops, my bad. That's what I get for only half-paying attention.

It *is* really weird, especially since two fours aren't expensive with any sort of split.

Willis bends the laws of reality to whatever he needs. Those are the most expensive crappy beers, obviously.

Goddamn, Willy drew this, stepped back, took a cursory look and thought "Yeah, Sal doesn't look insanely retarded in the last panel"

>mostly white
>coalburning

Just how black would Walky get if he actually failed the class?

He would rob a convenience store.

He'd turn into Shaft-Walky and DOA would finally stop sucking.

"math". Is he in grade school?

Not entirely sure what's wrong with the word "math."

I mean, I can think of better ways to word the sentence overall. "I'm probably flunking my math class" is one that stands out.

He is most likely in a generic math class that everyone has to take in order to get their gen eds out of the way. It's probably not a specific type of math, like algebra or calculus.

>He is most likely in a generic math class that everyone has to take in order to get their gen eds out of the way.
I really don't understand how American university works. You have to study general subjects other than your chosen field? Even at university level?

have them up here in canada too. You have to take elective courses unrelated to your program, and I think in Uni you also take general education courses like philosophy and shit, even if you're a comp sci major.

>You have to study general subjects other than your chosen field? Even at university level?

Yes. It makes more sense when you realize the entire industry is a scam.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_education

Mostly the textbook part.

Fuck me. I'd have never gone to University if it meant having to study shit I had no interest in or intention to pursue as a career. Especially not fucking maths. Today I am glad to be a Britbong.

I'm in Radio

Last semester, I had to take an entire course called 'interpersonal and group dynamics', the content of which was essentially a full term of 'don't be a dick and pay attention to what your teammates have to say'.

You want him to say "I'm probably flunking *maths*, pip pip cheerio!" And then Dorothy's shock makes sense because she has just found out thatd Walky was british (english?) all along.

Also, Walky is taking tougher math than he has to because he's over confident.

When I went in America's hat, we had courses split in 3 areas, Science, Humanities (art n languages) and Social Sciences (basically non-physical science. To graduate you had to have one full credit of each at the freshman level as part of a breadth requirement. I think it's some small proportion making sure you have some sort of balanced education, and the other half of giving freshmen who change their major some sort of idea of what other courses are like.

>Also, Walky is taking tougher math than he has to because he's over confident.
Don't ask me how that's the same math Joyce, Billie, Sal and Mike need, though.

>I think it's some small proportion making sure you have some sort of balanced education
In the UK that's kinda the point of our GCSEs and A-levels which we do before uni. Even then, while you have to do certain subjects for GSCE (English, maths, a foreign language and science) you can still choose what A-levels to do so you don't have to waste your time with advanced mathematics the average person will never use. Uni courses here, to my knowledge, solely focus on whatever you've chosen to study. No extra-curricular shit required.

We have a thing called "general education." You're expected to study a variety of things in addition to your major and minor. Hence why it's a "major" and not a sole type of study.

Gen eds generally include history, math, science, writing, and miscellaneous other things like philosophy and sociology. You can (mostly) choose what kind you do in each category, so it's custom to your interests, to some extent.

So like, there are two primary gen ed history classes at the college I went to. One is world history prior to 1560 (I think), and the other is world history after that year.

You have to take two science classes, at least one of which has to have a lab portion. You can pick stuff like geology, astronomy, chemistry, and so on.

They basically want to give people a broader type of education that helps you to be less stupid and ignorant as a human being. Plus, if you're undeclared or are unhappy with your current major, then you might find a major that interests you when you're taking your gen eds.

Taking these classes should help broaden your horizons and things like that. The writing classes are easily the most useful ones, because they help you do your work for your other classes.

The problem with the system is that no one actually wants to take these classes, so they don't care and don't try. Most people phone it in. I personally liked my gen eds, but I'm a big old nerd.

Why are we wasting time with this Walky bullshit when we should be seeing Ethan putting Danny on all fours and ravaging his twink ass.

I have a feeling that Ethan is a bottom, unfortunately.

here;s uconns.
catalog.uconn.edu/MATH/#1131Q

essentially the department is Math.
No class is actually called that.
Actual classes are, statistics, precalc, calc, business eco, etc.

Danny's a cute subby boi. Ethan will be driven to top him.

I want Ethan to tie up and blindfold Danny, and then call Amber up and have her listen to him fucking her ex. And then she starts guiltily masturbating to it.

And then Amber kills herself because she's worthless sub-human garbage, and life goes on all the merrier.

Where I went, the base math class was literally "General Mathematics."

The slightly more difficult one was "College Algebra."

math.indiana.edu/undergraduate/courses.phtml

Here's the most likely option from IU.
The first one that actually counts as credit toward a degree:
>MATH-M 106 The Mathematics of Decision and Beauty (3 cr.) CASE MM, CASE N&M P: Two years of high school algebra or M014. Mathematics of art (symmetry and perspective), music (scales, tuning and rhythm), and decision-making (voting systems, game theory, graph theory). Emphasis on conceptual and geometric modes of mathematical reasoning, with group- and activity-based learning in a smaller class format.

Note that it says "a smaller class format," which is not the case.

Almost all of the other classes either (1.) don't count for any degree requirement or (2.) have prerequisites of other classes or (3.) are only for specific people (something called "Groups" for many of them).

If I had a class called "The Mathematics of Decision and Beauty," I'd just call it "math" too.

We also have Math-D 116/117:

MATH-D 116 Introduction to Finite Mathematics I (2 cr.) P: Two years of high school algebra or M014 or M018. D116-D117 is a two-course sequence that satisfies the College of Arts and Sciences Foundations Requirement in Mathematical Modeling and counts toward the College Natural and Mathematical Sciences Breadth of Inquiry requirement. Topics for the course are taken from M118. Credit for the Foundations requirement in Mathematical Modeling or the N&M Breadth of Inquiry requirement will be given only upon completion of both D116 and D117 with a passing grade. Credit given for only one of the following: the sequence D116-D117, M118, A118, V118, or S118.

More in next post to show how little research Willis did.

The 117 class description is a slightly shorter version of the one for 116.

>MATH-M 118 Finite Mathematics: Two years of high school algebra or M014 or M018. Sets, counting, basic probability, including random variables and expected values. Linear systems, matrices, linear programming, and applications. Credit given for only one of M118, V118, S118, the sequence D116-D117, or A118.

>MATH-S 118 Honors Finite Mathematics: Mastery of two years of high school algebra. Designed for students of outstanding ability in mathematics. Covers all material of M118 and additional topics from statistics and game theory. Computers may be used in this course, but no previous experience is assumed. I Sem.

>MATH-V 118 Finite Mathematics with Applications: Two years of high school algebra or M014. Sets, counting, basic probability, linear modelling, and other discrete topics. Applications to various areas depending on topic. Possibilities include social and biological sciences and consumer mathematics. Credit given for only one of A118, M118, S118, V118, or the sequence D116-D117.

>MATH-M 119 Brief Survey of Calculus I: Two years of high school algebra or M014. Introduction to calculus. Primarily for students from business and the social sciences. A student may receive credit for only one of the following: M119, V119, M211, S211, or J113. I Sem., II Sem., SS.

>MATH-V 119 Applied Brief Calculus I: Two years of high school algebra or M014. Introduction to calculus. Primarily for students from the life sciences. A student may receive credit for only one of the following: M119, V119, M211, S211, or J113.

These are the classes not intended for specific majors or groups.

I can't really pinpoint which class Walky would be in. If he and Sal are in the same class, we can assume he's not in the honors version. They most likely wouldn't put Sal in the honors class.

So my guess is either the 116/117 set or 118. They both seem relatively basic without being remedial.

Yeah, I gotta say that Danny is even more submissive and wimpy than Ethan is.

And Ethan is a bundle of sexual repression, so he can talk Danny into whatever he wants for a long time. Not like Danny will go anywhere. Ethan could convince him to keep a plug inside him all day and he'd go for it.

Still have no real idea what Billie is saying here.

She's comparing Sarah avoiding the harder math that she didn't need for her major to Sarah taking the easy route of getting rid of Dana by calling her parents because she didn't need her around. It's a huge reach to make the comparison.

It's like if someone was struggling to pay alimony to their ex-wife, and then later saw them on an IV drip in hospital and said, "I see you're slowly and steadily draining everything out of another bag of salt water until all that's left is shriveled husk, you bitch!"

God I can't wait for Amber to kill herself.

People like her are disgusting. Every one of them should just fucking die and stop burdening people with their existence.

If you relate to Amber in any capacity I hope you know that every horrible thing you tell yourself is true and that everyone is better off without you.

Danny isn't really submissive, he just attaches himself to others. Even if he was super submissive it wouldn't preclude him from topping, just from the stereotypical power dynamics of topping.

What does Billie even know about Sarah's history with Dana?

>What does Billie even know about Sarah's history with Dana?
She was there with Joyce and Dina when Sarah shared the story.

So wouldn't she have Sarah's version instead of Raidah's version where Sarah is the bad guy?

huh, i thought he was a pajeet

Yeah, but since they don't get along, she chose to interpret it as Sarah just trying to get rid of people who inconvenience her.

Sarah needs to beat the shit out of Billie more often.

What a fucking bitch Billie is.

It gets particularly worse when you re--read the roofie bit, and find that Sarah was advocating just for going to the police, not specifically getting her parents involved. I'd assume that Joyce is probably 18 meaning that any parental contact would be somewhat at her discretion.

>thanks for having a sensible idea, you fucking bitch.
>how dare you try to help people you barely know by involving people that probably know them better, you heartless cunt.
>maybe next time you'll do the sensible thing and push them out of the backseat of a car rolling through the ER like a normal person, you heartless whore.

You'd think that, but Willis treats this college as if it treats their students as high-schoolers. Billie was flipping out because apparently Ruth losing her job meant that her grandfather would have to be informed. Or something like that.

I wonder if that's why Willis felt it was necessary to show that Billie's emergency contact was Walky. Maybe he thinks that it would be her parents by default.

Also, I got a DMCA warning for posting to /aco/. Looks like Slipshine may or may not be cracking down on reposting DoA porn.

Ruth losing her RA position would mean losing her room and stipend. It's not a stretch to think that Ruth would have to leave college, especially with the housing markets in college towns, but it'd be entirely possible for her to find other accommodations. Of course, when you consider that Ruth is a friendless drunk it's not hard to imagine that she'd have nowhere to go.

>Billie was flipping out because apparently Ruth losing her job meant that her grandfather would have to be informed.
Billie specifically says to Carla that Ruth's home is not safe. There have been a few other hints toward that, but they're few and far between.

Ruth's grandfather is horrible and mean or something. And if she loses her job, she can't afford school. And if she can't afford school, she goes home to live with Big Bad Grandpa.

>Willis's Parental Issues: Generation 0 Edition

That's true, but I doubt it would be as drastic as that. I'm sure universities have some kind of contingency where they'll help ousted RAs to a new place.

At the very worst, she'd be moving to a new dorm entirely.

It REALLY might have helped if we had more than two strips that explained how Ruth's home life is TURRBL and ABOOSIF. Like, the most I can say about Ruth's home situation is "Oh, no, she has to call her grandfather 'Sir'. No wonder she's suicidal."

Meanwhile, this is the closest we have to a new preview panel.
I'm not sure if this means that we won't be seeing Robin leaving Leslie's house until, like, the end of April.

Also on Twitter: Willis' high-school senior-year yearbook photo.

How dapper.

Wow. What happened to him?

Went to college, dropped out, wrote and drew a webcomic, and never let go of his staple cast of characters to the point that they eventually became representations of himself and his personality and psyche.

There haven't been any hints that Ruth's home isn't safe, just that she doesn't have a good relationship with her grandpa. And losing her job shouldn't mean that she wouldn't be able to afford school; they're a month into the semester, she should have already paid her tuition.

Weight gain. He carries weight in his face which distorts his features and gives him that weird babyfaced look. Going by this picture he'd look pretty good if he were thinner.

I guess this is supposed to be touching? Cute?

I mean, maybe it is if you don't find Dorothy's character grating? I wouldn't know.

Christ, Dorothy, this isn't about you.

Nice moment, poor lead-in since Dorothy's current problem is that she's upset she's not perfect.

This is stupid.

Mostly because Walky blurting out that he was flunking math was as forced as a fiberless BM.

Danny's an actual retard who thinks appropriate socialization includes sneaking up behind your ex, saying "mmmmmmmM-MAGIKARP, YOU WANTED ONE, OVER THERE" and then running off like he has to shit or something. Ethan deserves better

Amber is precious and should be protected, go retroactively abort yourself

Turns out the password to last night's strip was "terribly", a word that isn't even IN the comic in question.

The hell is up with that?

It's okay, user; I too like chunky, mentally unstable girls with severe daddy issues.

He's becoming self-aware.

Do we have quality writing and more than 4 respectable characters in our future?

She's his twin, but they aren't identical because they're male and female.

Yes I'm legitimately autistic.

To be fair it's something I might have done.

Sometimes it eats you up to keep something from someone you love. Hell, I've done relatively small things that I could have gotten away with forever without telling my SO, only to tell her because I didn't care to hold it in.

Not that the comic is better for that somewhat-realism.

Hey honey, I'm drawing porn again instead of fucking you. Can you tell me what sex is like so I can draw Walky and Dorothy fucking?
>*getting fucked by a normal, well-adjusted adult that doesn't collect Transformers* It's a lot like, uhhhhhh
>WWE, yeah, just draw them like they're doing WWE moves and shut up

bear costs money shit for brains

>bear costs money shit for brains
>bear
The last comic with bears that I read showed that you can just piledrive 'em and take 'em home

Not that user, but it kinda irked me too. Not just the 6 beers/4 people deal, but how in the hell are they getting away with drinking in a Wally World parking lot? Do cops just avoid Wal Mart or something?

What if we've got it all wrong as Willis is just a sheltered, ignorant man who remained a virgin until his 30s and it's his wife who is this weirdo about sex who keeps forcing him into painful awkward positions for her own amusement, knowing that he doesn't know any better?

>50 Shades of Willis

This. You tell it to them in their moment of weakness. That way you look a lot less fucked than if they were fine. He played it the right way. If her reaction is supportive she forgets about her bullshit for awhile and he gets help. If she flips on him he just slaps her with a few 'what about what you were just talking about's' and sends her back to how he found her. Too easy lads.

Wal-Mart parking lots are usually big enough that if they're at the opposite end no one would really notice. Still doesn't explain how four people only managed to have less than $10 between them. Hell, they could have grabbed a small bottle of shitty vodka from a liquor store for roughly the same amount.

How could him not going to class be a secret? Aren't his sister and Joyce in the class? "I was there, you just didn't see me" only works like, once.

How many days have passed since the first time we saw him skip? I wasn't aware it was that frequent yet

She's not fucking perfect.
She's fucking Walky!

BA-ZING!

oh shit. DOTTY'S KILLING HIM. SHE'S GONNA SNAP HIS SPINE IN TWO
