Kino?
No

Best modern Disney film?
Yes

Me

Y-yes it was!!

Me on the left here.

...

BA BOOM BABY!

>was it kino

Abso-fuckin-lutely

I want to fuck that cat

Can you find or make a webm of the fat Cannoneer when he yells Ba-boom baby as he blasts rocks. Kino character.

I was surprised to learn that pretty much everything in this movie outside of the characters were all CG models.
The 'deep canvas' technique looked really good when handled by disney animators and it's a shame that we will never see another movie like this.

But was Titan A.E. superior? I think that film planted yellow fever race mixing propaganda into my head.

Just saw le deep canvas meme video which surprisingly was 1 month old. It was kind of clickbait because of the titled and I spectated in rage as I thought it would be a harsh critique but honestly it was a great video, beautifully edited and informed. Stroked my positive opinion of the movie real good and told me that (((they))) ruined treasure planet's release. Still my favourite animated movie ever and a big childhood movie for me with Atlantis.

>Titan A.E
never seen it, its looks good. Worth watching?

but tgats not Tangled.

I saw this in the theater. Me and my mom were the only ones there. None of my friends seem to even have heard of it until I pointed out some kid's food promotions, and I didn't think about it again until many years later.

What a strange little film.

I literally haven't seen it since the year 2000 and I was 8 years old then. I've always had a little boy hard on for science fiction and I liked the idea of a Noah's Ark spaceship terraforming a destroyed planet earth. I also enjoyed the romance subplot and wanted to make human space babies with the female lead. I'm 25 now and this is me literally channelling my 8 year old self. 8 year old me says yes.

Lol thanks for the honesty.
>desu watching it for the yellow fever race mixing and space adventures.

It is a good film.

I warn you there is a mean alien space jerk that tries to fuck her and cuck you (obviously you insert yourself as the protagonist) out of prime spasian pussy. You've got to keep strong and fight for her. I promise you that if you keep fighting you will end up with Lingling by the end of the movie.

I liked the alien that communicated by farting. I also remember some cool windsurfing board. Thanks mum for taking me to this and enduring whatever this was. There was no waifu material in this film and Atlantis was way more fappable.

Man, I just watched this, an now I am sad.
This has been my favorite since I first saw it in the theater. Ever since it came out on dvd or BR I watch it at least once a year.

>What is mommy gf
>No cat waifu??

Same. I watch it anually or so and It has been my favourite animated since my childhood.

this is a kinda of earnestness that's oddly refreshing

>Thanks mum for taking me to this

this hit me hard, just thinking about all the shitty movies she would bring me to because dad was gone and acting like she cared about the movies afterwords and talk to me about the characters and plots for days later like she even cared.

I had TP in dvd as a kid and I had CDs with bug's life, atlantis and other kino as a child. Feelsgood. Bug's life aged like shit tho.

They're good women, user. I hope they know how much we appreciate all the bullshit they went through. Perhaps you've forgotten most of the joys they brought you but hopefully subconsciously its made you a happier person.

How come this movie is so perfect on the Aesthetics department? Does the 70/30 really work? Also everyone check kino video.

i feel like killing myself now

Certified film, and a great one at that
Not kino tho

no, treasure island is actually a good story, titan ae was a solid flick at best, worth watching to recapture those years, and god damn that asian makes muh dick hard

I know that feeling.
(((They))) busted the Kinoest movie film.

Me on the right here.

lol, it was fucking garbage.

If you want to watch a good Disney adaptation of the story, watch Muppet Treasure Island

only non whites or subversives dislike this classic

Epic contrarian here to disturb the thread after it has been well established that everyone in this thread liked the movie. Hothead leave.

Kill (You)rself.

I'd say it is kino to some extent, especially that one cheesy rock song, that one always brings me back to the days of singing along to the Smallville theme and basicaly any late 90s/early 2000s cartoon

Definitely Kino

Just because your cock gets hard for alien furry Silver, doesn't mean it was a good movie.

...

If this movie was good give me a (you). If you dislike it in a non ironic manner non baity post a pepe.

Didnt they rip this movie off from an Anime the way Atlantis was a rip off of Nadia?

holy shit lmao

what the fuck

>budget: $140 million
Why did it cost so fucking much?

Even the most high quality anime films are made for a for a fraction of that cost

that black hole looks extremely unrealistic

Fucking hell. One of the weirder things I've seen around here. I've seen disgusting stuff. Horrifying stuff. Depressing stuff. I feel like I'm really out of my frame of reference here.

Had the same art department behind Prince of Egypt, animation was extremely hard to pull off for cheap back then.
>youtube.com/watch?v=rJEIpRrosbU
apparently this scene alone cost 10 million USD and took 8 months to render, you can make that shit in After Effects now

It's because of the technology they used to create the ship and a lot of other elements called Deep Canvas.
It was the thing that allowed the fluid swinging scenes in Tarzan.

The reason Anime gets away with it, is because for all the detailed character and object animation it can have, they usually stick to relatively simple camera movements, and don't need stuff like Deep Canvas which is specifically built to be able to track a shot that twists and turns through a complex stage.

Ironically, with today's computer capacities, they could probably stick to Deep Canvas and make absolutely amazing looking 2D animated films with the fluidity of Tarzan and Treasure Planet for pennies by comparison, but they went and sunk their own ship on that front.

Also seriously, pretty much every main Disney release from about that time was amazing in at least a few terms, going out of their way to try new things. Like look at this beautiful sequence: youtube.com/watch?v=YP1l9-i79ag
The ways they managed to blend Live Action footage with 3D animation is amazing. The fact that they dared to experiment with stuff like Atlantis and Treasure Planet is amazing.
And then they just decided to stop making big budget productions.

I can't be the only one who wants to empty their balls all over this thing?

must be all that oxigen they are breathing in space

you know that cool technique they used at the end of tarzan to join 3d and 2d to make it easier to draw action when he is surfin the vines?

the entire fucking movie was made using that, cause the ENTIRE FUCKING SHIP WAS 3D. the arm and leg of the bad guy was 3d and good part of the background was 3d.

No, Treasure Planet is a scifi adaption of a book from the late 1800s. The visuals of the movie are completely original, I doubt Japan would've been able to come up with half the alien designs in fear of them being too ugly.

The high quality anime films you're talking about are made in sweatshops and don't look nearly as good.
>lip flaps

If it had a second act it would be kino.

It was over before it could begin.

>don't look nearly as good
You sure about that?

>static backgrounds
Whoa there!

>Fucking hell. One of the weirder things I've seen around here.

You havent been around long if that's the weirdest thing you've seen.

I've been here since 07 and this guy, without a doubt, beats them all.

...What the fuck?

that was a fun day when all of Sup Forums came together to witness the true power of autism.

Also this masterpiece. Watch it all the way to the end. It's worth it, I promise you.

Yeah, I remember reading that a while back. That is also pretty up there. Also a good reminder why you want to stay as anonymous as possible on this site.

FUCK DISNEY AND FUCK WHITE PEOPLE

fuck, I love that shit

Unironically my favorite disney movie

One of my favorite disney movies. I watch it at least every 2 years.

Silver was such a cool character.

This
And this

I had a crush on the captain when I first saw this as a kid

Same, those eyes just look into my soul.

I wonder where UTV is nowadays.
Still kicking the shit out of "ginger irish terrorist cunt leprechauns" hopefully

I miss 2d kino

i am 25 but i go with my mommy to see the spaceshit movies she likes as payment for all the kiddy shit she put up with for me

Kino? No, it has it's problems (Ben), but still better than most shit that comes out nowadays. Shame it was a failure at the box office. Some say Disney sent it out to die. Video related.
youtube.com/watch?v=b9sycdSkngA&index=6&list=LLaUjz2z_OgR_v-YI7XxwbLg

It looked great, but it's a shame the technology wasn't advanced enough to pull it off cheaply.
The movie's budget spiraled out of control and they couldn't recover the costs at the box office.

Titan AE was better
You mean Atlantis?

>tfw have fucking nostalgia for this movie and I only watched it for the first time 2 years ago
>me and my girlfriend would go to the gym together in the evening and every night after the gym, we would get in bed with our post workout meals and cuddle and watch a movie
>this was the movie that stood out the most during that time
>its been over a year now since she left
>can't look at anything from this movie without being reminded of her

thats what the captain is for though user

>tfw I saw this movie with my dad
My father is a good man.

It had to do with the software called Deep Canvas

yes

I just watched this on my recommended videos two days ago.

I re watched Titan A.E a few years ago, it was shit.

I'm sad Captain Amelia never got a lot of good porn

Its a month old but just got grip this week. Excellent video tho.

I haven't watched it in over a decade but I remember it being pretty good.

Oh wow, that's where that picture of the laughing shoe comes from

What are some more movies/tv where cat girls get tied up and gagged?

A depressed borderline girl that was my only friend at the time insisted we rent this after it was released on DVD. I’ve never been interested in Disney movies and remember hating it.

Some things should stay forgotten.

A surprisingly good adaptation of treasure island.

extremely kino

it doesn't cater to the female audience though, one of the reasons why it flopped

>He hasn't read Treasure Island
Jesus christ user, it's only been a classic for over a hundred years.

We all did user... we all did.

Being a public domain classic I know it's had a lot of adaptations, live action and animated, and I can recall at least one done by the japanese studio that did all the mother goose and brother's grimm fairy tales in the late 80's/early 90's. A traditional adaption though, not the sci-fi conceit.

I'm not a furry but I wanna fuck the cat lady captain honestly

Cat girls are exempt from furry status.
Also: gr8 8s m8

the bon voyage bloke

Give him a call.

Childhood is wanting the cat captain. Adulthood is realizing the mother is hotter.
