Platy & Puss

It's still a bit weird how the video from their pitch four years ago looks better than the pilot they just finished making, but I'm glad they never gave up on it. They just released a new clip - this time it's in English.

Here's the original pitch.

Perhaps the show isn't anything special - not to most people, at least - but I just genuinely like how they continued to work on it even when all of their big plans for it failed. They even created a fan page in 2013 and uploaded various art every holiday in order to promote the show. The show that never even had any fans to warrant a fan page in the first place.

I don't actually think the original pitch looked better, myself. It used a lot of really unpleasant morphing. The main characters faces might have been a little more pleasant, I'll say that, but possibly less expressive. This new pilot isn't exactly a masterpiece either, though.

Frankly the insistence on the characters being in a real place rather than an animated one is jarring. It works if it's well animated, but this isn't. It also clearly depends almost entirely on tweens for motions and such, and it's really not pleasant looking. The characters CONSTANTLY moving is just visually aggravating honestly.

I feel like, even if they just HAD to keep footage from real life in the cartoon, 80% of the other problems would be solved by letting the characters stand still for half a microsecond. I know they're probably trying to make it feel "real" but it just doesn't work with tween-heavy animation.

Bump.

>I never tried that before, so I'll definitely be able to do that
>that's from Pippi Longstocking
Okay, this is now confirmed for good writing.

And despite the Flash stuff, it's animated as well as something low budget can be.

Fun fact, according to the creator he/she mentioned that the animation style was inspired from the likes of Disney movies, however due to a tight budget it had to be animated in motion tweens.

Back when the show was first pitched, they proposed a thirteen episode season. I just very much doubt anything will come out of their years of work. From a business perspective, they should have abandoned the project years ago and tried to work on something more profitable.

How do you even know that? The creator seems secretive.

I don't know where he got that, either. Hell, I made the threads and I don't even know who its specific creator is. I think it might be Stefan Fjeldmark, but I don't really know.

Not perfect. But the positive outweighs the negative, when it comes to the new clip.

The original pitch?
Nice at some places, but quite awkward looking.

In the end, I'm glad how it all ended up in the end. Looking forward to it, when it goes full force.

I just wonder how long the pilot actually is. This earlier clip has the beginning of the pilot, and ends when the flying squirrels show up. When you combine the two, that means the rest of the pilot must take place at the end and I'm not sure there's much left to it.

Last bump from me. I'll make another thread if the full pilot is ever posted.

Remarkably well written. The main characters are kind of generic, but they do have enough development that emotional scenes do work.

The squirrels are hilarious.

My only problem is that I know that the platypus and cat will FUCK, and I have thinking about the monotreme hideous eight-headed penis being shredded by the vaginal barbs

After watching this new clip, Platy's actions made me think, that there's somethin' more a brewin', than just wanting to be friends.

Source user, or just a hunch like the rest of us?

These 2 were also "best friends" at first.

>imagined cartoon animals must have biologically accurate RL animal genitalia
Where is the button I need to press to blow this retarded meme off the face of the planet?

Surprisingly, there's one drawing of Puss on the Sup Forums booru. Not porn, but still.

Just choose a (unintentional) sexy shot, for your thumbnail, and the web is yours.

He was worried about losing his friend to somebody cooler. That Puss would only want to hang out with the daredevil squirrel. He was feeling jealous, but it wasn't that type of jealous.

Not as in sexual user, but his actions gave me a discreet sign of genuine love for her, of a sort.

The 2nd film turned up the heat, I presume?

It is heavily implied they fucked off-screen after it turned black. The very next shot if the following morning, with Rita gathering flowers while Hugo is still sleeping.
