A lot of my normie friends are recommending this. So Sup Forums is this actually good or just nostalgia-bait?

its good, watch the first 3 ep and see if its for you

It's fun.

I hate everything about this

>is this actually good
It's very ok. The kid actors are surprisingly good, like any mystery show with multiple sub plots, nothing goes anywhere with the illusion of going somewhere for most of the series, but the characters are fun, and the setting is comfy.

i feel like the second season is not as good as the first. first felt more focused and concise. second is kind of all over the place. it's worth a watch but dont believe the normie hype

Ironically, the second season lays a lot harder on the 80's references than the first season does.

It's kino

First season is derivative of everything 80's and Winona is a screaming mess for the whole series
Season 2 is just as bland

S01 is tons of fun
S02 is trash

Watched the first three or four episodes. There's nothing WRONG with it, like the kid actors are fine and it has a good aesthetic and all that. There's just no real sense of intrigue with the story despite them trying so hard with the X-Files weirdness scenes, or unique likeability of the cast going for that Goonies vibe, devoid of any standout traits of their own.

Solid 6/10.

Don't you mean 53/100 you disgusting Sup Forums memer?

Season 1 is great. Season 2 is just okay.

No, you mistake me with someone else. It's 6/10. Haven't seen the 2nd season though.

...

It's fun, it's short, Eleven a cute (CUTE).
And that's all you need to know.

roughly 18/22

But Winona looks better without the highlights. Never fail to mention that, friend!

If you're interested in a Silent Hill rip off with epic 80s references, then this is the show for you.

>i know i've already watched this and enjoy it, i just want to act like i hate popular things because shitposting on Sup Forums is all i have in life, and if i'm contrarian like the rest of Sup Forums maybe i'll get some (you)s

>It's fun, it's short
Basically this. Compared to all the shitty films and shows coming out this one is at least fun to watch with interesting characters and a comfy setting. The story might be retarded at times but at least it's fun and it isn't trying to be more than it actually is (apart from s2e7 which is weird and stupid.)

you have to go back

season 1 is pretty good for a television show. season 2 has no reason to exist and sucks.

>my normie friends
Go back to Facebook normalfag

Season one is perfect TV, pure kino, one of the best things I've ever seen
Season two is kinda eclectic, less straightforward, not as great, but it isn't terrible.
It is very nostalgic and has a ton of 80s callbacks, but it isn't distracting or anything. As someone who doesn't really feel any nostalgia for the 80s, I didn't feel like "this is just nostalgia-bait and it isn't for me," I enjoyed it a lot just as much as anyone else

>It's fun, it's short
Yup. Simple, but simple as in "cohesive", not as in "stupid"

> Eleven a cute (CUTE)
There's some definite Sup Forums appeal to it. But keep in mind that Millie Bobby Brown has been a polarizing factor among cunnyposters so far.

It's not very good, it's mediocre.
Normies only like it because it is "nostalgia-bait", even though it's pretty bad "nostalgia-bait", and because it's hip (or at least season 1 was surrounded by a lot of normie hype, and I mean, 80s retro is always hip).

Well, I was born in 98' so I have no fucking clue what the 80's were like and because of this the show didn't evoke nostalgia in me for the timeperiod at all. Maybe some nostalgia because of how similar my childhood was to that of the kids but all the 80's shit really didn't ruin it for me.

>tfw no Bob step-dad

Skip s2e7

No.

Watch episode 6, skip to 8 and then watch episode 7.

S1 is straightforward as it gets and just a bona-fide fun ride. In S2 they made the mistake of "unravelling" the plot, dividing it into various threads. In my opinion they still got their act together, writing-wise, but only barely. If S3 continues the trend, it's over.

Of course you had subplots or plot-threads in S1 – namely the kids-plot, the teens-plot and the adult-plot – but they all worked to the same end (save Will) and came together and wrapped up nicely.

Now, in S2, you got the kids-love-triangle-thread, the kids-Dartagnan-thread, Will's thread, Eleven's thread, the adult-thread, the teen-love-triangle-thread, the teen-threat-thread and of course the teen-punk-thread... they also come together somewhat nicely but it doesn't work as well as in S1 and the sequel-hook is more in-your-face.

If you refer to your friends as "normies" unironically who have probably already explained to you what is about. Then no you're not going to like it.

>tfw no psychic gf

It's really not very good besides >le ebin nostalgia xD

Finn Wolfhard makes this show worthy watching, give it a try

It's really quite good if you disregard people hating on some sort of perceived nostalgia value (which really doesn't extend beyond taking a lot of clues from ET and The Thing and having some pop-culture talk wedged in here and there – just doing a good job at depicting the year 1983 doesn't make it bad)

I hope Fagg Blowhard, weak-chinned, girly-boy FUCKHEAD that he is, meets an untimely and gruesome end in a work-related accident. No, I'm not jealous. I'm 40 years old and I was even BETTER-LOOKING than that wispy fucking fairy fuckerturd, at that age. Did you see me prancing around like a fucking ballerina and pouting like a poncy, pantomime, pillow-biting retard at that age?

NO.

And I'll tell you why.

Because I'm a MAN. I have almost always been a MAN. I've almost always known it was my role, no, my DESTINY, to be tough and resilient, to fight, to love and to fuck women and to pass my superior god damn genes along to the next generation that so desperately needed them.

And I DID.

FUCK this generation of piss-weak fairies with their slack jaws, their lack of chins, their hands that have never seen an honest fucking day's worth of work and probably never will, and their googly, Japanese-animation-like expressions that are supposed to somehow resemble "emotion".

FUCK the so-called "civilization" that promotes this dishonest, pedo-pandering shit. Child actors were a MISTAKE.

>It's really quite good
no

based finn triggering numales left and right

Oh but it is.
You're an obvious faggot though, thus your opinion is to be disregarded.

>I have almost always been a MAN

so you had your reassignment surgery early then?

I intentionally didn't watch this because I am actually almost as old as these characters, so I found it insulting that someone would try this hard to create a 1983 simulator. I know its weird but I just didn't care to watch it.

Well, I decided to binge it and just fuckin do it and I honestly really liked S1. It was creepy and scary. The ending scene of E7 at the quarry type thing was genuinely disturbing to me, I had a similar experience to this in the 80s where someone held my brother hostage and made me do stuff to have him go free. I don't really want to talk about it but NOT BJ's. Some of the stuff in here was so well done it felt like looking into a portal into 1983. I also really empathized with Eleven who reminded me of my childhood GF too.

You can definitely tell the Stephen King references and especially IT reference. I think going early 80s is great because it reaches the innocence of youth but isn't in your face 80s cliches.

As you can see as they got into roughly 1984 it was already starting with the arcade games and punk references which is what people complain about S2.

Overall Stranger Things is a borderline classic show, which may be too close to reality to ever turn your brain off for old viewers and for young perhaps it would be boring because of the lack of color or much special effects? I thought the characters were great, kid actors were great and atmosphere and situations second to none to the point where it genuinely haunted me afterward, it was the best use of natural settings in a TV show since LOST.

What’s the story about this?

This is, dare I say it, the best copypasta of 2017. And I'm gonna, dare I say it, spread it like cancer, if cancer was AIDS.

– Hugh Heffner († 91)

my normie friends who never watch tv except normie shit also recommand this

should I start it?

Always avoid any current stuff that normies recommend. It's never going to be good.

...

Some older model came out basically saying they want his dick
Finn repsonded by saying they’re gross

>decide to start watching this show
>first ep kids playing DnD
>one kid is wearing a hat indoors at night time while in a basement

Couldn't make it past 10 minutes

i like it

it's like one very long goonies movie

>People wear hats
>0/10

Christ, dude

Why would you wear a hat inside at night time?

hottest bitch on the show

I am thorougly convinced that people hating on Dustin do that because he remindes of themselves.

I want bob to support my life choices and give me emotional support as I grow into a young man

>autism

season 1 is really good, i think
season 2 was significanty worse and i can't really recommend it unless you're absolutely in love with the first one

It is an above average nostalgia-bait with a lot of really enjoyable characters who feel like they came from a John Hughs movie but ended up in a scifi horror film on accident.

>Rates ST as 'quite good'
>calls others faggots
lol

SPOILERS but the scenes with the demodogs in the caverns was pretty kino, and I like the fake out with Bob escaping.

after i saw this scene, i had to go jack it to some milf porn

this is the model

this scene would have been more realistic if billy was replaced by Finn "make that pussy wet" Wolfhard

Since your opinion is of no importance or consequence, feel free to vent your anger.

It's like having a film set in the Sahara desert or something and one character is wearing eskimo clothing and everyone plays it straight and acts like its normal.

Totally immersion breaking

what sort of fuck-goddess is that?

But finn is playing her son??

post yfw it showed like six of them feasting on his bloodied corpse

even better

>this is the kind of quality pussy finn is pulling at 14
I sometimes don’t know if I want Finn or want to be Finn

...

The hot mom trope is an obvious ET callback

mfw

...

have you watched S2 yet?

>Some older model came out basically saying they want his dick
So? Have we really fallen so low as a culture that we cannot admit when a person is attractive?

Only watched the first season. Thought it was pretty bland for the most part.
Kids storyline is fucking annoying, adults and teens are alright.
Not bad, not good, forgettable.

he's 14 so it's fucking weird. you shouldn't be thinking that stuff, and if you are, keep it to yourself

...

It's mediocre-decent nostalgia bait.

A lot better than "IT" FWIW

If you don't want people commenting on how attractive a 14 year old is, don't put them on television. Simple. Only hire fat disgusting ugly 14 year olds as actors. Problem solved, and it should make no difference to you, right?

new pasta potential?

>new
Hola reddito.

>i watched all 17 episodes and they SUCKED

i think if they sucked you would've stopped watching before you finished

fucking goobers

hats were originally meant for the purpose of blocking sunlight but they grew to become just casual headwear. stop pretending to be retarded.

It IS pasta

Probably just his other underage fan girls getting jealous

It’s not a pasta if it’s just the same person keep forcing it

i mean people could just not be niggers and keep their mouths shut, but i guess that's asking too much

>that’s GROSS
I wonder if he only said that because he’s in front of a camera and his parents are right behind him or he actually meant it

what's makes you presume that?

I don't understand why they had to do that.

If you're a cancerous millennial don't bother. Theres no safe spaces or gender fluidity in it.

Faggot generation....

>He makes it to the lobby
>Stands still for a minute just to see Joyce
KEEP RUNNING DAMMIT

I want to fuck Hopper

as they're fucking pounding at the door, too

He's dad-bod incarnate.
