Tfw...

tfw..... there's gonna be no animated movies from Disney this year Pixar is separate from them in terms of movie making and there's gonna be 3 films...... from Sony.

I predict LEGO Batman will score a best animated feature nom from the oscars due the current outlook on animated films this year.

Oh good. I was getting rather annoyed with all the CGI Family Furry movies being pumped out. Zootopia wasn't that good; get over it.

Shapes falling out of the fringe
All heart, though we would've made cowardly kings
They will chop you down just to count your rings
Just to count your rings, just to count your rings

Isn't Lion King coming out in 2017?

The Lego movie wasn't nominated last time.

Separate from Disney or not, Pixar is about to ruin their comeback.

It still managed to be better than Frozen, but then again that was astroturfed as fuck all over social media

I love how you fags will decry this sequel, but then cream yourselves over The Incredibles 2. I will laugh for a full week if it turns out Cars 3 is better than Incredibles 2.

Cars 2 was miles ahead of Cars, so if they keep the trend going Cars 3 will be even better

It had more competition

Frozen wasn't that good, either. You could tell the producers overhauled the movie's plot and character arcs at the last second because The Producers and Director didn't want Elsa to be the main villain after she sang "Let It Go."

what. I saw the ending coming a mile away.

Nah, Disney will just release a suprise sequel to Zootopia. Or an anime will receive the Oscar

Stupid Underage

Bad B8 M8

>Sup Forums still cares about best animated feature

If Disney doesn't realease anything then whatever made the most money will win, but if they do they will win it again. There you go, saved you the next 20 years of Oscars.

>Anime
>receiving an oscar

Is Studio Ghibli making movies again?

>Godzilla has an anime movie coming out this year
>With 2017 being such a slow year it manages to get into the nominations
>Through some bizarre twist of fate, it manages to win over Pixar's Day of the Dead movie
>Kaiju movies then manage to kill capeshit

Sing Is getting a sequel in 2020, so im happy.

Was zootopia 2 ever confirmed tho?

>Zootopia wasn't that good

Hahaha, funny joke.

I mean if you think Zootopia was a 7/10 then yeah it you are right, it was that good.

But 8 or up is just not true

>implying they haven't already.

that may be so, but that doesn't mean cars 2 wasn't shit.

If you watch some behind the scenes footage of the movie's development, the director and producers originally intended Elsa to be the movie's main villain. The producers realized they could exploit the song and character to gain the LGBTQ audience by changing Elsa into a misunderstood outcast.

I didn't find the jokes all that funny. There were way too many scenes pandering to furries, especially the porn fetish sub fandom. The best part of the movie was the world building. The actual plot, characters, script, and themes are all derivative.

>I mean if you think Zootopia was a 7/10 then yeah it you are right, it was that good.
From a technical perspective it's at least a 9, Zootopia is fucking GORGEOUS for a 3D animated film.

>especially the porn fetish sub fandom
that IS the fandom

>tfw the mlp movie wins best animated feature

Coco will win, Mexicans are hot topic right now, and because it's a Disney/Pixar movie.

That's why I find the original story more interesting, but they had to change it because it was too heavy for kids.

It had to be redone 6 months before the deadline, so it feels rushed near the end.

>how to trigger furries

> half a billion flop

Oh thank Christ Disney has not been enjoyable since the early millennia.

>Disney movie needs to make a bilion otherwise its a flop

Nice logic m8

>modern pocahontas vs modern lion king
>not "what a great day fur penis"

Frozen is today's Lion King; bastardization of the oriignals story( Frozen=Snow Queen, TLK=Kimba the white lion) that made shitload of cash and left cultural impact.

Zootopia is... Hmmm Emperor's New Groove? Last movie where Disney put any effort before giving up? Right now we're entering Disney sequels era starting with Wreck it Ralph 2.

I'm sorry.

What comeback? Dory was mediocre, the dinosaur one was awful. Inside out was good, though.

The Lion King borrowed heavily from Shakespeare's Hamlet. Lion King 2: Simba's Pride is a shameless copy and paste of Romeo and Juliet.

Also, Frozen only became a thing because of the song "Let It Go" and the LGBTQ undertones associated with Elsa. No one actually gave a fug about any of the other characters in the movie.

yes, and some tlk characters are straight copies of characters from. Kimba, even Matthew Broderick thought it was an adaptation of the anime.

Well we are talking about the superjews who shut down their entire Infiniti game/toy-line simply because the multi-millions weren't coming quite fast enough.

They aren't exactly desperate for immediate cash.

>Frozen
>cultural impact
Other than its catchy meme song which people are tired of by now it was a fairly forgettable flick.

Dude, there's still a lot of Frozen merch in store right now, for a fucking 2013 flick, if this isn't cultural impact, what the fuck does it?

These billions made with Frozen merchandise don't lie. Gisnep is milking the shit out of this, just like they milk Lion King

Sequel coming in two years. And more specials, yaaay.

Disney sells toys with all their films though. I'm looking at a Frozen as a standalone work and in this regard I don't really see what its esteemed cultural significance is.

You may mean the film relevance as a standalone work, and you're right, it's weak, but Frozen have a big cultural impact because it became a big hit and everybody keeps talking about it (especially normal people and their kids, the main target of the film), it's one of the most succesful animation movie of all time and the most requested films of Disney and keeps selling merchandising like if there was not tomorrow, already it's a Disney's Classic and Elsa it's probably the most popular princess of Disney, and it will be for more time. The film maybe be it's mediocre and forgettable, but its legacy keeps filling the Big Mouse's wallet and becoming a iconic series for the Company. Again, if this isn't cultural impact, What it's a cultural impact to you? Could you adress us another serie who can beat Frozen 'not cultural impact' easily? BTW you could say the same for Minions, but nope, even they aren't a formidable rival for the Ice Queen spinoff.

Cars was inoffensive. Neither bad nor good. Cars 2 was lame. It had a lame story focusing on lame characters. It wasn't well written and it honestly made me cringe.

Elsa's a queen, not princess.
Anyway, the worst part of Frozen is that it has horrible morals"if you fuck up really bad you'll get rewarded", since kids soak it up like sponges it does not bode well for their future.Instead of making a good movie they made a movie that makes money.fuck you Disney.

It wasn't nominated due to a stupid technicality of it having live-action sequences... despite being the superior animated movie of the year... that's why it only got its nomination on Best Achievement on Music
