Nolan was going for realism which called for a realistic suit. Batman wouldn't realistically be able to do shit without turning his head, so they wrote it into the movie. Now they're not going for something realistic, they want to make it look cool and more like the comics and have probably shot around that for the movie. There are plenty of reasons to expect this movie to be bad, but not because Batman can't turn his head.
