So, what flicks do you think will get nominations this year?
So, what flicks do you think will get nominations this year?
Get Out sweeps
Wonder Woman
Loving Vincent
Blade Runner
Wind River
Good Time
Okja
Dunkirk
And lots of other Oscar bait that will come oit in the next 3 months
...
>betting on the Oscars
jesus fuck now THAT'S depressing
are you american I know you guys have weird gambling laws, anywhere else you can bet on anything
this is Nolan's year, if only because a weak field
Just because you can bet on anything doesn't mean you should
Florida Project had a ton of buzz but it completely fizzled out. Defoe is still the one to beat for Best Supporting Actor. Dunkirk is a shoe-in for technical awards. Lady Bird looks good for Original Screenplay and Sersh for Actress and Laurie Metcalf for Supporting Actress (< I'd call this one lock).
This is a really shitty year so if Shape of the Water is as popular and good as festival buzz says it could be the Best Picture / Director pick. If not, then it will be Lady Bird.
Kevin Spacey for best deleted performance in a motion picture
Was it autism?
>Wind River
Distributed by The Weinstein Company. Can't get the nod.
The Post is going to win almost everything for obvious reasons.
>skybet
>thesunbets
>Blade Runner
Only technical awards. It was sci-fi and a complete flop. The only reason to recognize sci-fi is because it's populous so a sci-fi flop is toxic to the Oscars.
>Wind River
Hell or High Water had a ton of love last year so a worse version with more rape and mediocre visuals has no shot.
>Good Time
No one saw this. It's a festival movie.
>Okja
Oscars won't recognize a Netflix movie.
>Dunkirk
Will win tons of technical awards.
That one oscarbait with the shitty pretentious title.
Hopefully this
The oscars will never recover from #OscarsSoWhite. The pandering to minorities was bad enough before, but after that chimpout, the awards will never have any sort of impartiality.
That gay pedo italian romance
Nothing good, tbqh.
I hope:
Wind River (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay)
Victoria and Abdul (Picture, Director, Actress, Screenplay)
Get Out (Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay)
I think (because I have yet to see)
3 Billboards
The Post
Lady Bird
Death of Stalin
Call Me By Your Name
Oooh i hope so it has a funny midget in it!
And the lead lady swears a lot! You're not supposed to swear!
I hope theres a lot of
>pew pew pew
>quip quip quip
>cunt cunt cunt
It's just like a Marvel movie but I can sound cool while talking about it
>Get Out (Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay)
Why would such a boring movie get anything?
What are you talking about you cringy tryhard, the director is great and his previous movies were top-tier, plis the cast is amazing.
Neck yourself
>Wind River (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Screenplay)
>Victoria and Abdul (Picture, Director, Actress, Screenplay)
you are the xact type of pleb the oscar judges are so you will be right
I didn't think it was boring. The Lost City of Z was really boring but people here would call it Kino I guess. The story was new and fresh, the acting was good all around. Maybe by the end of the year I wouldn't have it on there, but for now I think it should be nominated.
Thanks m8 ;)
Have you even seen both of those films?
>The story was new and fresh,
>the acting was good all around.
wew have you just found Sup Forums?
You mean In Bruges? The most overrated film in the last 10 years?
>ha ha he swore
>he shot a kid how edgy!
>pew pew pew
>straight forward ending with a vague 'maybe he lived' finish to make plebs think theres a chance he lived
It's the perfect definition of a film you find in college that no one has heard of and you adopt as your favorite so you can show it to people and think you sound smart.
i have and they were by the numbers cliched oscarbait
not even top five films this year
In Bruges was a film about spirituality. Your summary of it only displays your own lack of depth.
>tfw The Disaster Artist gets nothing
>tfw Tommy never gets to show up at the Oscars
