only (man)children

"adults" who hold teacups with 2 hands watch this retarded garbage

Do brits genuinely like Doctor Who?

I always thought they treated it as sort of guilty pleasure.

I've never saw Dr. Who ever in my life.
Looks pretty gay to be honest, family.

just read the facebook comments....

all the roasties who watch this will lose interest now even though they were the loudest voices for a female doctor

Anybody else think her outfit is incredibly stupid looking? It looks like a cheap circus clown outfit. They could have dressed her better then that.

What a time to be alive.

Posting the only good post reboot Doctor.

>I always thought they treated it as sort of guilty pleasure

I've always wondered this too, even compared to other BBC shit Dr Who has always looked like cheaply made shit to me.

>watching cucked BBC shows

that's how retard people are. enjoy your brainwashing shows faggots

Yes. This is a hugely popular show and the ratings for the new doctor debut will be through the roof.

Is you're asking, "Will the impotent perma-triggered alt-right pussy crybabies on Sup Forums watch this and then cry about it on Sup Forums and pretend it was a huge flop while they masturbate to cuckold porn?" then the answer is also yes.

>better then that
>then that
>then

High school dropout or underage

Rowan Atkinson was the best Doctor. Prove me wrong.

What if I'm both?

>Do brits genuinely like Doctor Who?
Everyone watched it as a kid it's literally just manchildren or nu-males who haven't grown up that still watch it. Or older siblings/parents watching it on the off chance with their kids. People don't follow it, things like Eastenders have a bigger normie following.

It's literally a kids show, propped up by tumblr superwholockians

Its wierd. Its the worst imo since Colin Baker

>MUH Sup Forums
It's a fucking kids/tween show I don't even know why it has a general. Only in the last ten years has it gotten a bigger budget and treated as if it can compete with things like GOT but thats because of BBC America getting introduced to it. This isn't some groundbreaking television show just because it's popular with some kids and nostalgic adults.

Kek, OP

I assumed it was always soyboys and lesbians. I heard that Dr Who gets blacked in the new season

Is this the guy that was on The Leftovets?

>history was a white wash

>It's a fucking kids/tween show I don't even know why it has a general.
...because it's a show that has been on for 50 fucking years? Are you really asking this right now, dumbass?

My younger cousins still watch it, so we usually end up seeing the holiday ones when we're all together. It's got a higher hit rate than the Queen's speech

Nobody I know in the UK watches this. The only people I know who do are autistic American girls who also write fan fiction about it.

Just popped into that general. Christ, are there worse fanboys anywhere?

You seem pretty insufferable yourself.

>This is a hugely popular show and the ratings for the new doctor debut will be through the roof.
It got cancelled in 1989 due to low ratings and the ratings have basically been on a constant decline since 2010, with few anomalies.

This. The only reason it's on BBC 1 and not CBBC is pretty much 'muh childhood who was on bbc 1"

>posting on Sup Forums
Well, of course!

It's pretty much just ingrained in British society now.
No one really likes it anymore though. Everyone used to watch it when they were younger, then people dropped off around Matt Smith era, then they were fully done with it when Capaldi turned up.

It was popular during Eccleston and Tennant's run. Most people here stopped watching after that. The show also wasn't quite as much SJW trash back then either so take that as you will.

It used to be my guilty pleasure, watched nine as a kid and watched all the way up to around half way through matt smith before I started to hate it.

Tried to watch capaldi because he's a great actor and i like when the doctors a grumpy old man but they gave him nothing to work with so im skipping femdoc because she's basically the exact opposite of what i want.

Started watching it when Matt Smith was Who, found it ok-ish, stopped watching it a couple of episoded after he was replaced, with all the sjw shit it is seemingly wading through now I'm happy I did.

>that costume
le wacky eccentric only works with men

The only people I know that like it are:
1. Asian 30-some I work with. I think it's just that he grew up watching it. Cool guy, but he has pretty poor taste in shows/movies.
2. Two daughters of someone I work with.

>We want the LGBTQ audience

tell me that doesn't look like one of those hipster fucks clothing

It's a tumblr enclave with the occasional jaded sap who only watches it because he's been doing so ever since he was a child

>Female Doctor
>By the people who gave us lesbian alien lizard Sherlock Holmes

It's already going to be crap.

It was a hugely popular show but Capaldi put pay to that.

The Doctor is supposed to be a bit of an oddball, it's a classic British character archetype, each Doctor has become progressively quirky (the fucking fez for example) to the point where it's overtaken the character, now they're trying to apply that to a woman, no doubt there'll be some epik catch phrase to go along with it

Female protagonists by default can't be shown to make mistakes, and since the Doctor spends roughly 45 minutes fumbling making mistakes either attempting to reveal which evil alien race is the root, or attempting to reveal the evil aliens' sinister plans this means a female Doctor protagonist will have to blame her errors on technology or some other unforeseen catalyst.

Honestly, this will make for a really boring episodic series.

>That text on the image
Not an argument

We're seeing the second iteration of the Doctor Who cycle right now.
Eccleston = Pertwee (rejuvenates the show for a new audience)
Tennant = Tom Baker (highest ratings, most mainstream Doctor)
Smith = Davison (Not as popular with some people but ratings generally hold steady)
Capaldi = Colin Baker (The shittening, ratings take a huge hit and never recover until nuWho)
Whittaker = McCoy (Cancellation)

Yea, I went to that thread once and made a simple observation that was deemed “wrongthink” a got a fucking warning from the mods. A warning?

You tell me op.

The general could just be full of shitposting and lewds.

The term people is very subjective when you're referring to Xoctor Who viewers.

Could BBC really cancel the womyn series? Mind you from here their only choice is a non-white doctor which'd probably get even lower ratings

I used to but then they got rid of the white qt companion and got a literal nigger instead.

Its almost as if people like to reply

i think i stopped watching a bit into smith era

isn't there a canon reason why the doctor is male?

Not anymore, you sexist pig!

Men over 30 that talk about Nintendo games

He just sort of didn't change because that would be weird.
If this could always happen, they definitely should have talked about it more in the scenes involving the Time Lord race. They all refer to the doctor as 'he'. Were they just planning on changing that when he changes? Do timelords misgender each other often?

They lost interest after Smith left.

Should I watch the classics first?

Not really. There's a canon explanation saying that he can turn into a woman, he just never did.

>this means a female Doctor protagonist will have to blame her errors on technology or some other unforeseen catalyst.
probably her male companion after ugly monkey face is gone

You seem pretty angry. Maybe you should go outside for a bit

Was Capaldi a shit doctor? I like his other stuff

He's the least popular nuWho Doctor in terms of ratings.

He was great, but had less than nothing to work with.

Actually those people out. New showrunner starts next year

It will tank. BBC will blame chauvinism but no one will give a fuck what they think.

Another show ruined by progressiveness

I mean you kid, but the episode where the doctor said that was in a time when london was pretty diverse. lots of freed slaves with no where to go, and large jewish and asian communities in London. they episode just had some black people though

How far we have fallen

to be fair, they seem to have phased out the catchphrases, Capaldi didn't have one, and Matt Smith stopped saying Geronimo as much after his first two seasons

it's a show you watch as a child or watch with children. That's the real reason it's lasted, it's like wallpaper.

It's technically a family show but it's the child part of the audience is given more attention than others, the doctor must be role model for example. The companion's don't really die and it's hyperactive and wacky as well.

I watched it for a while but I realised I like the idea of the show rather than the execution.

Stopped watching after 10.

I've never understood why anyone can sit through an episode of Star Trek, yet the franchise continues. So I can see why people don't like Doctor Who, but it's a pretty fun show

OH NO NO NO

I don't know how people can still watch this crap. It was good, dumb fun through Eccleston and Tennant, then Smith had some moments but things started to slip and in the 2nd half of Smith's run everything just went to pure absolute shit. Capaldi should have made for a PERFECT doctor but the writing of the show now is so fucking embarrassing that it ruins him.

She's got that Wesley Crusher shirt thing going on.

more like LITERALLY WHO

I don't have any problem with The Doctor being a woman as long as it's handled well and they treat it as weird. I wonder how they will explain him deciding to be a woman and how people that knew him before will react, if they just handwave it away and do nothing interesting with the dynamic or have him get a hunky male companion and start craving cock it will be shit. I stopped watching years ago but I'm actually interested to see how this plays out.

He did the best with what he was given (shit), but the writers really had no clue how to utilize his acting skills and made him say a bunch of random lines and act lequirky

>I wonder how they will explain him deciding to be a woman
Time lords don't have full control over what they can rejuvenate as.
>I wonder how they will explain him deciding to be a woman and how people that knew him before will react
This happens every time and everybody just goes "oh a sonic screwdriver? Police box? You must be the doctor"

The Virgin Trans Community

vs

The Chad Doctor Who writer

It's pretty much a girl's show. Like Rick and Morty.

>not Elba

2/10 best I can do

The writing on this show got soooo bad and soooooo political that I had to let it go. They kept dropping breadcrumbs about "muh Timelords transcend gender," so I knew it was only a matter of time. When we got "Missy," I dropped the show. (Hurrr, let's not bring back The Rani. Let's maek teh Mastur a gurl.) When I read that Bill was a lesbian, I knew, I BLOODY KNEW, we'd get a female Doctor, and sure enough! "Hurrr teh Doctur is gril now, so progressive." (Because GOD FORBID they bring back Romana and possibly create a spin-off show featuring a female Time Lord.) Now we get to see "Muh glorious womyn Timelord" and naturally they dress her like she came straight out of Romper Room. She looks like your typical leftist degenerate you'd pass on the street - All leftist women either dress like little children these days. So, get ready for Doctor Who to die. There is no way the ratings can possibly support the budget it takes to keep this show running. Leftists will blame "muh sexism" for it, but the truth is leftist assholes took over a show and completely fucked over the traditionalism of the show, because they know that if they create their own show, it won't make it.

what he said is absolutely true though, I have known four trannies in my life and their names were Aurora, Destiny, Celeste, and Chastity.

that was great, but patsy is the best doctor, she
's got tits

Capaldi was brilliant. I was genuinely excited to see him brought in not only for his talent, but to hopefully shut down the vapid fangirls drooling over Smith, who is a rather odd-looking person. Capaldi's problem was the true shit writing from Moffat. It was sad to watch.

Yeah basically "Let's make something different but call it Doctor Who cause we don't know how to fucking go on with this show"

lets be honest: shes a good actress
im kinda curious to see how it will be

LE QUIRKY BRITISH SHOW

>lots of freed slaves

how many?

Capaldi was good, but Moffat just lost it completely after Matt Smith. At least we don't get a young Doctor Who from the streets, going "Oi! wot fooking aliens is that, mate? tis bloody confusing in here!"

Is she? I've seen her in Broadchurch and one or two english shows before, but she always acts so average like "i'm here to represent the average single or unhappily married woman"

Enough that the monarchy kicked up a fuss about too many africans in london, and tried a failed exodus. The episode showed like the same 5 or 6 black people throughout the episode, so it was kinda the same. Wouldn't have been super exaggerated though

I watched the first episode of what I guess is the reboot series, the one with the mannequins. It was kind of creepy, I thought it was going to be like a British X-Files but it got really fucking gay really fucking fast and I didn't finish the second episode.

>freed slaves
England didn't have slavery though

Watch Trust Me, shes pretty good. Its a series where she pretends to be a doctor.
Ive seen her on Attack the Block and THAT episode of Black Mirror and i have no complaints.

>British X-Files
Gross

>really fucking gay
nice

I mean... it did...

Also, they didn't have to be british slaves neccessarily. boats exist

>it did...
No it didn't
