The overlapping looks fine, you're over exaggerating.
He's looking a different direction because he's not actually paying attention to the eiffel tower, he's changing the subject haphazardly
And the weird mime cut out is justhe a visual joke about the dude being french..
This is the best that hellblazer rebirth has looked so far in all honesty (not sayingood much)
